I got the above message when I tried to access my room servert pc (XP Pro with Service Pack 3) from another pc Client (XP Home Edition with service pack 3) on a network share. I see all class document & readers who share in my network places on both PCs.
There is no problem when I have access to XP Home Edition of XP Pro. I heard the pc installed with Acronis True Image to give to this question. But my two PCs are installed with it. Any solution.
What I've tried so far on my pc (XP Pro):
1. click on start, run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and double-click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
3. on the right side, double-click restrictanonymous setting.
4. make sure that that the value in the value data box is set to 0, and then click OK_ (why the default value is 0. I change it to 1, but always the same)
5. close the registry editor.
6. restart the computer.
I also tried to enable the allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts and shares on XP Pro (default value is Disable).
File and printer sharing exception is enabled in firewall. Don't have a firewall part 3

The two guest account are capable of Simple file sharing in XP Pro box checked also checked.

    Steve,

Thanks a lot for the link to this article.
    It was most helpful.

I also found this forum useful post:
    http://www.techsupportforum.com/Networking-Forum/networking-support/114373-cant-map-new-network-drive.html

In particular, he said to check the event log of the computer that you are trying to connect to (the remote computer) to search for an event ID 2011, which would be entered in the time you finally tried to connect and does not.
I did alt-click on the icon MY COMPUTER (from the remote computer) and the menu HANDLE, click the EVENT VIEWER folder (in the left pane), and then the SYSTEM folder under that.
On the right pane, I found an ad for the event ID 2011 at the time wherever I finally tried to connect.

To test this, I went to the VISTA laptop and tried to connect the computer to Office XP again, which gives a different error message on the VISTA laptop.
When I went back on the XP desktop I tried to connect to and looked again to the event log, of course ANOTHER event ID 2011 has been registered with the new time of my additional attempt to connect.

He confirmed that it was likely that the IRPStackSize was the problem, as your proposed article.

Then I printed article how DO TO SAVE AND RESTORE the REGISTER to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/
then backed up the registry (both by running a restore system to register and by exporting from the top level of the regedit).

I then went in regedit on the desktop in XP for the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\LANMANSERVER\Parameters file described in your article.
There was NOT an entry for IRPStackSize in the right pane, so I followed the instructions in the add - it and change it to decimal 15.
I rebooted and tried to connect but still got the same error.
The article said that the default value is 15, so I assumed that adding input IRPStackSize to 15 has not changed anything.

So I went into regedit and changed the value of IRPStackSize of 15 to 18, restarted and it solved the problem.

I found that the following articles is also useful in the resolution of this problem (aside from the one you gave):

  • Three computers networked fine then suddenly the error message «...» Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Not enough server storage is available to process this command. "

I had a network that worked very well with three 2 computers running Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Home Edition 1. Suddenly, the network has just stopped allowing certain communications giving the above error message (I have another thread address with XP to Vista computers). The main computer with XP Pro, I'll call A, the second computer with XP Pro, I'll call B and third with XP Home will be C. All computers can share files and printers then without any changes to the system that occurred the following:

A can access the documents and printers on B and C

B may NOT have access to documents or printers on one, but access to documents and printers on C

C cannot have access to the documents on one, but CAN access A printer and CAN access the documents and printers on B

When access is denied error message is displayed:
"\\A\My documents is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Not enough server storage is available to process this command. "(\\A\ being the computer that I am trying to access)

As I said access from all computers on this network was working fine a week ago and there has been absolutely no changes made to the network. I checked the following

    1. workgroup name on all computers are the same
    2. file and printer sharing are enabled for all computers.
    3. all computers may been from each computers just denied in some cases.

The firewall that runs on all three machines is AVG and there were no changes to the one last week, but I checked that sharing is allowed.

I even tried to run the Configuration Wizard from the network on all computers to see if it works, but the same exact problems occur after doing this.

I met this problem now THREE times. I can't believe that I'm the only one who has this problem and I can't believe that there isn't a solution for it. None of the Microsoft documentation has even a hint of a solution for this specific problem.

I need a solution that closes completely the network at my church, and they cannot afford to buy printers and others for each of their computers.

This error message is misleading. See article Knowledge Base Microsoft Antivirus software may Cause Event ID 2011 for a likely solution, specifying a value of IRPStackSize 15 on A computer.

I'm glad that you got this sorting. You were one of the rare cases where there was not enough space on a hard drive. Generally, the "not enough space" is misleading. In all cases, it is good to know things work now. Thank you for taking the time to let us know. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • "Not enough server storage is available to process this command."

After you run all updates yesterday from MS, now I can't in 2 other computers in my workgroup.

Why has it happened?  I do not know.  In the past, this bug has been associated with systems that Norton anti-virus was installed.  I don't know why it should suddenly appeared after the recent updates.

    The article linked above:

    1. In the right pane, double-click the IRPStackSize value.

NOTE: If the IRPStackSize value does not already exist, use the following procedure to create it:

      1. In the folder registry settings, right click on the right pane.
      2. Point to newand then click DWord value.
      3. Type IRPStackSize.

IMPORTANT: Type "IRPStackSize" exactly as it appears because the value name is case-sensitive.

    2. Replace the decimal Base.
    3. In the value data box, type a value that is greater than the value that is listed.

If you created the IRPStackSize value using the procedure described in step 1, the default value is 15.

Thank you for your quick response.
I solved the problem as follows:
1 correct the evil of "IRPStackSize": instead, I wrote IRPStarckSize! " in the registry
    2. create / change the value of ""IRPStackSize ' to '25' in XP and Win7 Starter registry "

    Hi Richard hartwell,.

Could you tell what antivirus software you have installed on your Windows XP machine?

The problem occurs because of a software antivirus installed on your Windows XP computer.

See article Knowledge Base MicrosoftAntivirus software may Cause Event ID 2011 for a likely solution, specifying a value of IRPStackSize 15 on the Windows XP computer.

As a test, you can consider disabling the security software on your Windows 7 machine as well.

    thanls

If you have restored your system to factory settings, then you indeed made a clean install and have lost your settings and programs (they will need to be reset or re-installed).  The data may be recoverable according to how you did the resettlement factory (as long as you did a custom installation re).  You have a folder named Windows.old?  If so, your data may be in there, and retrievable.  Here is the procedure: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/932912 (if this is possible depending on how you did the re-install).

I'm sorry for your programs and settings, but that's how a restore to the factory settings (except for the programs installed on the disks recovery or the recovery partition - whatever you used).  Part of the problem is that programs place entries in the registry system and those who were lost when you did the restore to factory settings (only now has the original registry with any of these other entries) - and you probably also lost files installed in the directories of Windows during install it programs.  Again, the only programs, with which you will be able to work are those who initially came with the system.  Everything you have installed yourself will need to be reinstalled.

I hope this helps (although it may be that the news you wanted to hear).

  • VMware Workstation 6.5 - not enough physical memory is available to power on this virtual machine

My host is a processor Intel Core i5 (active VT) and 8 GB of RAM Windows 7 64 bit running with hardware virtualization enabled.

Apart from McAfee Antivirus and the usual Windows updates, no other software has been installed on the host machine.

I am running Vmware Workstation 6.5 and I installed 3 popular VM with below guest OS, s/w and memory:

    VMware ESX 4-2 GB
Server 2003 (DC and DNS) - 1 GB

    Server 2003 (vCenter Server) - 1 GB

However, it is not possible for me to all 3 virtual machines run simultaneously. If I turn on Vmware ESX 4 and try to start Windows 2003 VM, it displays the following message:

Not enough physical memory is available to power on this virtual machine with its configured settings.

To resolve this problem, set the parameters in additional memory to allow for more virtual memory machine to swap.

If you were able to on this Windows virtual machine on that host computer in the past, try restarting the host computer. Reboot may allow you to use a little more memory host to run virtual machines.

Can you get it someone please let me know where are the rest of the memory is busy? Size of total memory of 3 virtual machines are only 4 GB and I have to be able to run all the VMs set 3, but in this case I can't even run two virtual machines simultaneously.

  • After the crash of the system, Workstation 10 reports "not enough physical memory is available" - how to fix?

On a Windows Pro 8.1 with 32 GB memory main system, I was running three virtual machines on 10 workstation.  Then we had a power failure and the system crashed.  Once the power was back and I restarted, any attempt to run a virtual machine failed with the following (change numbers) message:

Not enough physical memory is available to power on this virtual machine with its configured settings.

To solve this problem, decrease the size of this virtual machine to 988 MB memory, increase the amount of physical memory for all the virtual machines to 1219 MB or adjust the parameters of extra memory to enable more virtual memory machine to swap.

This occurs if the virtual computer, I try to start is one of those that was going or who was not working at the time of the accident.  In this case if I am as an administrator or not.

I checked Edit/Preferences/memory, and reserved memory is set to 24480 MB - 24 GB.  Can I run a virtual machine if I set the memory size to below the value indicated in the message (in this case, 988 MB).  Of course, I don't want to run like that!

The Windows System Control Panel reports (almost) complete 32 GB system memory. Task Manager indicates that only 7% of close to 32 GB is in use.  "About VMware Workstation", reports 32640 MB.

How can I fix it?  I'm basically dead in the water.
