Destination area has VMware player 3.1.4. Not possible to run a newly created virtual machine.

For the first time, I tried to virtualize my machine using VMware vCenter Converter Standalone. The destination machine has VMware Player installed 3.1.4, so I chose, as a destination having VMware 4.0.x instead of VMware 3.0.x as 3.1.4 overflows 3.0.x. The newly created virtual machine does not under VMware 3.1.4. Is there anyway out of this except can create an another VM using VMware player 3.0.x as the destination machine? Thank you.

Then, you should be able to simply create a (empty) virtual machine with VMware Player 3.x and then just remove the blank virtual hard drive (hard files) and replace it with the one created with VMware vCenter Converter.

You can use the New-Timespan cmdlet in the Where clause, it returns the time difference between 2 DateTime objects.

    An example of this cmdley

    New-TimeSpan-start (Get-Date). AddDays(-7)-end (Get-Date). Select days - ExpandProperty

In your case, you could do

  • Comments operations are not allowed for anonymous users on this virtual machine

    Hello

After a lot of trying, I finally managed to connect to a virtual machine in VMware Server 2.0.2

However, I get the error "comments operations are not allowed for anonymous users on this virtual computer" when I try to run notepad.exe. I think that some permissions must be set. So I put comments and guests of user group to be able to administer the object (VM); but still this error comes.

Can someone help me pls with getting beyond this error.

    Thank you very much.

This has come up before on this Forum. Be default, Windows does not allow for remote log-ins for accounts without password, which prevents the VIX to perform log-ins comments in this situation.

You can follow the steps described in the following thread to enable remote log-ins for accounts without password or change the account to have a password.

  • Failed to create virtual machine using VMWare Workstation 11 (test)

    Hello people,

I installed VMWare Workstation on my machine Windows 10 and trying to create multiple virtual machines to test the object. I have done this before on the Windows 7 computer and did not face any problems, but this time, as soon as I gave the location of the file to deploy an operating system it comes up with some fatal errors as error BLK_CACHE IOERR if I have enough space on the HARD drive and everything is not going further. So, my question is if my computer has compatible with Windows 10 problems or there is something else that would cause this problem. Any help or comments would be appreciated on this topic.

    Thank you!.

    Thanks for your answer, Noel

  • VMware Workstation 9.0 restarts my PC trying to turn on a virtual machine

Hello everyboddy! On Sunday, I installed VMware Workstation, Version: version 9.0.0 build-812388 and configured a new virtual machine. I installed Windows 8 Enterprise on it and everything was fine. The same day that I had no problem at all - I have turned on and off the power of the virtual machine without any reboot. But today, when I try to power the virtual machine, I created loads for a while and then suddenly my PC restarts. I tried 3 times and the result was the same. Can you tell me where is the problem and help solve it, please?

    My PC:

PS Minutes ago I reduced the computer virtual memory to about 1.2 GB and made a new attempt to launch the virtual machine, but that this time he gave me the following error message: fatal error (vcpu-0)

vCPU - 0:SVM is disabled and locked on this CPU (or something like that)

And here's the last log file:

One of your four hearts a SVM disabled and locked.  The other three are not.  You should be able to run virtual machines using the binary translation (set the execution mode privileged binary translation under VM-> settings-> processors).  However, you will get into trouble if you try to use (SVM) hardware-assisted virtualization.

With vSphere 4.1 eight-way virtual SMP is the maximum that you can configure with the Enterprise Plus license. With vSphere 5.1 the maximum has been increased to 64 channels for businesses more (32 channels for the company).

  • Problems with VMware Player

    Can someone help me please?

I have two questions, but here's the background. I run a virtual machine using VM Player with Enterprise Server 2008 x 64 as my OS and Windows 7 on the client system. The version of the player that I use is the 3.0.1 and am not able to upgrade to a newer version that the virtual machines created on the new version won't be compatible with the rest on 3.0.1.

Question 1: I get the following error message:

"Could not get the driver vmci version: the handle is invalid.".

You have an incorrect version of the driver 'vmci.sys '. Try reinstalling VMware Player.

Power DevicePowerOn module has failed. »

I uninstalled the software and reinstalled again, download the software from vmware download sit and still get the same error message. I also entered in the configuration of the .vm file and changed the settings vmciio:present from true to false. Should I do this?

Question 2: Now the virtual machine is not recognizing the CDROM. I tried to use the real player allocated on the client system and also let the virtual machine automatically select, the two ways fail. I looked through other forums that show screen shots of how to fix this problem, unfortunately the screen with what I presented is different from that in demonstration.

Any help would be fantastic, thank you.

    Welcome to the community,

I don't know, but what you can try is to:

1st edition.) Can you confirm you changed the setting vmci0.present = 'false' with the virtual machine properly closed - not suspended - and VMware Player closed.

2nd edition.) In settings of the virtual machine CD-ROM, click on the button "Advanced...". "and enable"Legacy Emulation"see if that helps.

If the above does not help, please report (attached) file vmware.log of the virtual machine to a response message.

  • Share the virtual machine created in VMWare Player

    Hi all

I created a virtual machine Ubuntu based using VMWare Player. The goal of this virtual machine is so it can be used for demonstrations on our societies SaaS based appliction. So basically the image works fine now, I have a few questions:

    1. what format should I send them the virtual machine? (i.e. can I just compress the virtual machine directory)

    2. If open the image in VMWare Player if he invites asking them 'have you copied"/"Moved"the virtual machine? Can I avoid this?

    3. it will work on their equipment?

    Any help appreciated.

    See you soon

    I can help you with your questions;

    1. what format should I send them the virtual machine? (i.e. can I just compress the virtual machine directory)

Zipper the VM directory should work correctly, it will just extract somewhere on their machine to run it.

    2. If open the image in VMWare Player it will ask asking them

"You copied" / "Moved" the virtual machine? Can I avoid

    This?

To the best of my knowledge, you can't avoid it, and they should probably answer "copied" in the situation you describe.

    3. it will work on their equipment?

It's a pretty loaded question.  Obviously, it must be run the Intel instruction set and have a Player version available for their OS.  I ran with success of virtual machines on a laptop Centrino 1.6 GHz single core, but startup performance left a little to be desired.  I think that a minimum of 1 GB of memory for a host running XP or Linux, probably at least 2 GB for one of the more recent Windows operating systems.  More memory would be better, but it will probably work with what I suggested.  Of course, player must be installed on these hosts.  Then make sure that the parameter memory your VM is as small as you can reasonably do.

I have provided virtual machines by providing copies of the record, and they worked very well.  In my case, I created my VMs on my Mac with Fusion, but then run it with Fusion or player.

  • VMware Workstation 6.5 - not enough physical memory is available to power on this virtual machine

My host is a processor Intel Core i5 (active VT) and 8 GB of RAM Windows 7 64 bit running with hardware virtualization enabled.

Apart from McAfee Antivirus and the usual Windows updates, no other software has been installed on the host machine.

I am running Vmware Workstation 6.5 and I installed 3 popular VM with below guest OS, s/w and memory:

    VMware ESX 4-2 GB
Server 2003 (DC and DNS) - 1 GB

    Server 2003 (vCenter Server) - 1 GB

However, it is not possible for me to all 3 virtual machines run simultaneously. If I turn on Vmware ESX 4 and try to start Windows 2003 VM, it displays the following message:

Not enough physical memory is available to power on this virtual machine with its configured settings.

To resolve this problem, set the parameters in additional memory to allow for more virtual memory machine to swap.

If you were able to on this Windows virtual machine on that host computer in the past, try restarting the host computer. Reboot may allow you to use a little more memory host to run virtual machines.

Can you get it someone please let me know where are the rest of the memory is busy? Size of total memory of 3 virtual machines are only 4 GB and I have to be able to run all the VMs set 3, but in this case I can't even run two virtual machines simultaneously.

Please help what should I do?

With 8 GB of RAM on the host allowing why only 1 GB to be reserved for all you run virtual machines?

  • No options to create what anyone in vmware player 2.2.5

    Hey people

Now, I have to admit that I don't think that vmware player allows you to make the new virtual machine, but after reading the user manual / google it seems it don't...

Anyway, so I downloaded the latest version 2.2.5 for my win7 / 64-bit... When I open it I only have the option to open or remove it from the virtual machine. According to the manual, I should have a button file which will allow me to create virtual machines.

I had a quick glance on google and I could see another person has had a similar problem and they just reinstalled again... I tried...

The only thing that I can click on more 'open', 'Download' is the top vmware player. Console, devices and utility are grayed out if it means something?

The main reason for me using vmware player is I use virtualbox and it does not support USB, I need... so initially I exported my Virtualbox VM for a. OVA file but when I load it in vmware player it just sits at the splash screen... After research it seems to be a common problem... so I'm happy to start over and create a new virtual machine in Vmware player... which brings me to the question of how I actually find the file button to do =)?

I reinstalled / restarted as he asked... I don't encounter any errors during installation, so I don't know what I have to do?

I don't want to install vmware workstation for reasons that we don't need to go into

    Any help would be great

    Thank you

Version 2.2.5 is not the latest version... simply the most recent version of the 2.x branch.  You use a link to the old, obsolete, direct download page.  I brought to attention before VMware people but no response... I'll try again.

  • VMWare Player startup with the command line command does not work!

    Hello everyone,

I'm new to the community and it will probably show. So, I say sorry in advance for the flaws, I'll do. Since I am of German native language I need to translate it into English. So, I could use special terms wrong, but I'll certainly try to avoid this. Just keep in mind. And now my question:

I was running VMware Player 3.0 with VMware Tools installed and VMware VIX 1.8.0 installed on a host of Win7 Ultimate 64-bit. The Useraccount on the host has administrator rights. Guest operating system is WinXP SP3. Since I need two softwares of different recording/Dictation on my workstation and I could only one of them simultaneously open (which is very uncomfortable, when you need to change frequently), because those two were always challenging who got to use the microphone, I installed a second microphone (that only the application for the two contest) and then created a virtual machine to run the software second with one of the two microphones connected only to the prompt. (Directly/comfortably) to start the second software I created a. LNK shortcut file (and attached to the startmenu) who run the command

    Departure of player "C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware" t "C:\Users\USERPROFILE\Eigene virtual Computer\Recorder Windows XP Pro Windows XP Pro SP3.vmx VM SP3\Recorder VM.

with the recorder VM "VM Windows XP Pro SP3" opening the second software automatically (autostart).

This worked well, until I updated my VMware Player to 3.0.1. Since the update however, my shortcut file simply is unable to start the virtual machine. However, starting the virtual machine of VMWare Player normal window still works. By running the command mentioned above constitute the command line prompt, I got the information, this vmrun.exe could not connect to the host, due to an error, the specified version is not found, which probably means that the VMware Player.

    P:\ & gt; "" Player t C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware VIX\vmrun.exe "start"C:\Use ".

virtual rs\USERPROFILE\Eigene Computer\Recorder VM Windows XP Pro SP3\Record

ER VM Windows XP Pro SP3.vmx"

Unable to connect to the host.

Error: The specified version is not found

    P:\ & gt;

I tried the VMware VIX update (from 1.8.0 to 1.8.1) without success. The errormessage even remains.

The three relevant paths for VMware Player, VMware Vix and the VM are spezified in the systemvariable path as follows:

    % SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\; "" C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware VIX ". "" C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware Player. " "' Virtual C:\Users\USERPROFILE\Eigene computer; C:\Program Files (x 86) \QuickTime\QTSystem\

    Today suddenly wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to one that solves the Enigma.

  • I have a problem starting up a Windows XP Pro Machine virtual Windows 8 host system (which has VMware Workstation 10.1).

I am new to the virtual machines.  For several months I've been running a Windows XP Virtual Machine in an old machine of Windows 7 with VMware Workstation 7.0.  The hard drive is having some problems at times, so I thought that I could move the virtual machine on a new computer that has an OS 8.1 Windows and VMware Workstation 10.  For example, on the Windows 7 machine, I copied the directory with all the * .vm files and pasted into the machine to Windows 8. But when I tried to start VMware Workstation 10 in Windows 8 machine, I got the message "this virtual machine policies are too old to be run by this version of VMware."  I went to the knowledge base and used the solution described here: I've deleted the lines of three 'policy' of the .vmx file and added the suffix .ancien to the .vmpl file, which actually disabled.  Now, when I try to start the virtual machine, the black screen appears with the VMware logo in the Center and everything seems fine, but Windows XP starts.  And logo VMware guard churning away as in a continuous loop.  It is not easy to stop.  The only way to stop VMware is via the Task Manager or restart the machine.

What must I do to get the Windows XP Pro VM to run in the new machine?

VMWare technical support suggested that I have disable 3D acceleration (VM > settings > view and uncheck the box 3D graphics acceleration).  The virtual machine starts now with some minor problems, but it is usable.  But by closing accel 3D turns, in the words of the Technical Support Engineer, David, that there is "a problem with the graphics card not imitate or through its capacity to the virtual machine.  In other words do not support to the VM guest 3D acceleration. "My next step is to make sure that I have the updated driver for the Intel HD Graphics 4600 display adapter.

    Minor problems are:

    (1) the virtual machine works best in screen mode reduced.  There are a few problems speed mode full-screen.

    (2) the VM will still work after switching on of the host.  But after execution of the virtual machine, if power you the virtual machine and the release of VMware workstation, then later, start the workstation, the virtual machine will power not.

To turn it on again you must out of VMware Workstation, disconnect the host machine and then reopen it in one.

  • Can VMware Player run multiple instances of the same VM?

I looked around but could find an answer to this question. If it has already been answered, please feel free to point me to that answer. I am relatively new to VMware Player, so this may seem like a stupid question. Please bear with me.

I've been running Linux in a virtual machine using VMware Player 5.0.2 on Win7 and I would like to start another instance of the same virtual machine, simultaneously. When I try to launch the image once again, VMware asks if I want to take possession of the virtual machine running, but does not give the opportunity to start another instance.

Is it because it is not possible to run two instances of the same VM, or y at - it another way to get there?

    Welcome to the community,

This can be done. If another instance would be allowed to use the same file system, the guest operating system would be very likely corrupt the file system. What is possible - at least with VMware Workstation - is to create clones related, where the Basic virtual disk is the same (open in read-only mode), but writes go to independent virtual disk files.
