Destination of the hyperlink (file or URL) is sometimes title and sometimes the name of file

I have a project. When I add/edit hyperlinks on my desktop computer, I see the files available in the project as their file names. When I open the same project on my laptop, I see the files available by their topic titles. I prefer the title of the topic, but I can't understand what the setting is switch between them.

• How remove the destination of the hyperlink does not exist?

New to Indesign.

I need to use the text of the header "White" as the destination hyperlink and I want the name of the destination of the hyperlink to be the same as the text.

When I try, I get:

BLANKOFF.PNG

Yet, it seems to be NO Hypertext definition already in existence by this name. See:

hyperoptions-01.png

Now... I've been dinking autour herein for hours, create and delete Hypertext destinations, making bookmarks, try text variables, etc.

I fear that all this back may have screwed up my file (s) and now I have some hypertext ghost, hidden destination I can not find and so is indelible.

This is an excellent suggestion and I tried, but the Destination of the hyperlink undeletable survived.

And still don't appear in the list of already defined hyperlink Destinations:

Then, I started to eliminate layers and try again set a new Destination of the hyperlink by using the name of 'White White' which was taken somehow, every time I want to delete a whole.

After nixing a few layers, I was actually able to reuse the 'white white '. I kept him going.

Once I knew the affected layer, I then reduces to the object responsible for text. Guess who it was...

Yes, the header "White" itself.

Apparently I had used the same exact text to define two hyperlink Destinations, and in this case the Destination of the hyperlink named "white" doesn't appear in the Options of Destination of Hyperlink dialog.

Had to remove the text touched, then re - type and redefine my Destination of the hyperlink.

geeze...

Steve, thanks for your help, if!

• InDesign iPad App with links to pages or the destination of the hyperlink OCD?

I work for developing applications for the iPad in InDesign and it goes very well with one exception. I need to be able to essentially have a menu hand or table of contents to allow the user to type on a topic and have the application go to this page. Cliclking on the top of the screen gives me a kind of buylt cabailities navigation, so he clearly keeps track of items/pages.

I tried naming it the text on a page (sometimes in the same document as my OCD/menu, sometimes with separate articles/documents) as well as the entire framework as a destination of the hyperlink and making a TOC/Menu point a button that goes to this destination. Looks like it should work fine. If I have everything in a single document, the TOC link system works very well in an interactive PDF. But that all doesn't work if make you an iOS app. No links don't seem to work at all.

While some things like animations do not work in applications iOS, I know that a system TOC/Menu must be able to be done, as I've seen in other applications that are clearly made with InDeisgn. (Applications multimedia especially pro running in News Stand as a geographical Nation, etc.). In addition, only with not not able to navigate to a page, article, or document to another when you build an application based on the folio iOS would be pretty useless.

I found a lot of examples totorial how to make apps for iOS in InDesign, but I can't find those that use a TOC/Menu System.

Any suggestions here? This feature is not available in a folio built app done in InDeisgn?

Thank you.

• Error: The destination of the file is too large

Original title: to transfer large

I can not transfer a file because it indicates the destination of the file is too large, though even I have enough space on my USB drive

How is your USB drive formatted (FAT-32 or NTFS). If FAT - 32 there is a 4 GB limit on the size of the file it will transfer so no matter the amount of space you have on the USB key. If you want to move this large files on the USB drive, you must convert the USB stick to NTFS. Here's how: http://techblissonline.com/fat32-to-ntfs-conversion-in-windows-xp-or-vista/.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

catknox

Hi catknox,

You can change the destination of digitization of the HP Utiliity application folder, assuming you are using the computer Scan-to-option:

1. Go to Applications > Hewlett-Packard and open the HP utility.
2. Under settings for scanning, select Scan of the computer.
3. Open the tab scan tasks.
4. Select the task you want to modify and use, and then click on edit.
5. Under the section move the items from the Finder, select the required target folder (select other... for any custom destination) and then click OK.

• GREP mess up at the destination of the hyperlink application

Hey guys,.

Came across a very strange problem with the scripts, GREP and hyperlinks into InDesign. I'm trying to write a script (js) that automates the creation of hyperlinks on a great book (e-book). I wrote a script of hyperlinks glossary successfully but this concerns chapter references. The idea is to have a GREP search finds all words that matches a heading style (stressed, 20pt in this case), then insert a destination of the hyperlink to this moment here. The oddity is that when the script runs that it messes up the GREP search results find the text in the previous line.

var doc = app.activeDocument;

doc.hyperlinkTextDestinations.everyItem().remove();
doc.hyperlinkTextSources.everyItem().remove();
doc.hyperlinks.everyItem().remove();

app.findGrepPreferences = app.changeGrepPreferences = null;
app.findGrepPreferences.pointSize = 20;
app.findGrepPreferences.underline = true;
app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = '';

var results = app.activeDocument.findGrep();

for (var i=0; i < results.length; i++) {
var text = results[i].texts.firstItem();
$.writeln(text.contents);
doc.hyperlinkTextDestinations.add(
text,
{
name: text.contents
}
);
$.writeln('-----------')
}

run this script on the text following (deleted indesign style):

A title with confidence

a text

Control and security

a text

Title

a text

Scripting in InDesign

a text

outputs follows in the console:

A title with confidence

-----------

Control and security

-----------

Titl

-----------

XT

Scripting in Undesir

-----------

The first 2 are correct but its last 2 messed up. If I comment out the call to the destination of the hyperlink add method I see the correct text in the console:

A title with confidence

-----------

Control and security

-----------

Title

Any help is really appreciated.

• In CC 2015.4 I can not find my trusty option 'New Destination of the hyperlink'

Hello

Please see the screenshot below.

The updating of CC 2015.4, suddenly the option 'New Destination of the hyperlink' which appears in my context menu under "Interactive" simply disappeared. In general, I surligner highlight the text in the frame, then right-click on it to reveal the menu, then scroll to the "Interactive" submenu and select 'New Destination of the hyperlink' (see the part CS6 2014 screen captures below). I do then highlight a text anchor Tech. Finally, I select other text in the document and make a hyperlink to anchor text, I just created. I now spent 90 minutes in the options of CC 2015.4 trying to find these (or new?) to create a new destination for the hyperlink (a text anchor), with no chance inside the app (even impossible to find another way to do it) and no luck on online forums. Anyone can solve this for me?

Thank you
Aaron

It is in the hyperlinks Panel menu. It is in the Panel menu cross-references.

It is missing from the context menu (someone forgot it?)

You can add a keyboard shortcut: Edit > keyboard shortcuts > product area: Panel Menus > links: New Destination of the hyperlink.

• How to change default destination for the files to be imported?

How can I tell LR to import to a new destination disk? I found a similar issue for LR 3 a couple of years, that says in the import dialog box choose the destination. This doesn't seem to be there now. In any case, I want LR to import into the new destination all the time, not only as a one-off. My HD is full and I can't keep moving the files manually. Thanks for any help!

You can change the import (copy, move, add...) path at the top of the import dialog box. When "Add", the destination panle is hidden, because it means that you come to 'Add' descriptions of the photos to the catalog and do not touch the pictures.

• Sectors lost 'Rename files' and 'Destination' on the right side of the module «Import, library»

Not sure why this is happening. I uninstalled and installed LR3 three times on my laptop computer Dell running WINDOWS 7. I have 8 GB of RAM and a 750 HD concert. The processor is an Intel Core i5. As required, I have enough material to run LR3. I installed the updates while I am running LR 3.6. For some reason, I am unable to locate the sections of 'Destination' on the right column and of "change of file name." The "file management" and "Apply when importing" are visible. I am enrolled in the program with Adobe and think I have all the current updates. The program is loaded in 64-bit mode.

Someone has to meet this problem before?

I couldn't get the program works correctly without being able to have access to elements missing for download.

Move or copy mode, try right click on one of the headings on the right side and choose Show all.

Ja.

• How to extract the names of file/URL of all files in a folder (in the same directory of site)?

I am creating an online music player, simple Flash-based; the user clicks on a song in a DataGrid, and then he plays, simple. I displays the information of the song with the ID3 method in the class 'sound', but I don't want to hardcode all the songs in the ActionScript code, because I change them. I created a folder "tracks" in the directory of the site; How can I extract the names of the files in this folder without knowing how many there are by nature, and files without knowing the URL?

Use PHP or another script server to read the contents of the folder and to deliver the names of files for Flash in the form of data (xml or txt).

• Hyperlinks to PDF creation repeating the Destinations of the 1st Page, last hyperlink

I created a document with several links. Each hyperlink is named uniquely and is created by creating a "new destination" assigning the new hyperlink to a specific text.

Yes, the checkbox 'include hyperlinks' has been checked before the PDF export.

Interestingly, in the 3-page document when processing the entire document to PDF, the last link on the first page is repeated for all other links later in the following pages.

If I export each page individually, all hyperlinks work as it should.

Any suggestions?

As I said, I think it's a bug, and it probably relates to having a lot of hyperlinks. Given that you can't fix in CS3, export a page at a time and combine them in Acrobat.

• Path of the hyperlink file includes a '&' sign

Hello

We recently discovered that if we create a hyperlink to a file on our network, the link does not work if the path contains a sign '& '. For example: N:\A & D\Sample.doc. If we remove the symbol '&' the path of the file, the links seem to work very well. Is this a known issue? If so, is there something we can do to work around this problem? It would be easy for us to change the names of folders on the network, but we are not the only ones to use is not quite as simple as that. Any guidance/background/input is much appreciated.

TW

Probably, you enter the hyperlink in the design mode. "RoboHelp translates into href="N:\A&D\Sample.doc' href="A%26D\Sample.doc ', which is for the hyperlink html coding. "Change the hyperlink back to HTML mode, to href =" N:\A&D\Sample.doc "should solve your problem.

• NT may respond to your request because the source files and destination are the same

Hi, thanks for reading.

I'm having this problem and it is driving me crazy.

I'm actually following a tutorial that you can check it out here: http://nightshifted.Tumblr.com/post/2559360661/tutorial-paused-animations

Basically, I'm trying to make a gif animated with canvas (I'm sorry if my English is not so great). When I try to drag the layers in the canvas (step 2 of the tutorial), I get the error: "could not complete your request because the source and destination are the same."

can someone help me? I have CS3 and CS5 and they get the error in both.

Thank you in advance

I think they mean Select layers and images and using the tool move, drag

inside the document (click inside the document window and drag) to move the

Choose the layers to half superior (transparent area), is not to drag the layers of

the palette of layers in the document, which would give this error.

• Commas in the section titles, and the *.htm file names reach the hyperlink jumps?

I have two subjects that I'm trying to move on to other topics. The thing that these two issues have in common, is that I originally used commas and apostrophes in the topic titles and the *.htm file names. This seemed to screw things, since my jumps to topics has never worked.

I deleted the subjects that were causing problems and they added without using punctuation. I can not yet jump to these subjects. To check if there was a restriction on the maximum number of hops, you can add to a project, I created a jump to a completely different question - the jump worked.

So, I think that something has been corrupted with these topics. I could try removing them and adding them "fresh" again, but I thought I'd post here to see if someone has encountered the problem before.

Thanks in advance,
ChristyG

I managed to solve the problem by recreating (for the second time) the section titles and files and do not use any sign of punctuation of any well-founded. I think that the problem resulted from using the keywords that have been used and not used/removed/reused. I went to the tab Index, selected 'see also' in the drop-down list and delete keywords that have been put in bold.

Kind regards
