Detect emergency calls

Hello!

Is it possible to detect a call is an emergency call? I noticed the phone call has no useful methods.

I could ignore calls to a 3 digit number, but is not a reliable way...

BR,

Isabelle

There is no way to determine directly.  You can check for the 3-digit emergency number, as you suggested.

  • Emergency calls only

Two weeks ago my G4 motorcycle more suddenly lost network and began to show the only signal of emergency calls.

-Tried to charge the phone several times to solve the problem, but has not solved.

-Check the network signal strength and the signal was.

-Since then, had no other Micro-Sim, phone select Yes couldnot by inserting another SIM card.

-networking, view available, it allows to scan networks and view all networks, but by selecting my network, could not connect and kept showing only emergency call.

Depressed, left my phone and after about an hour, saw that it was automatically connected to the network. Thus, sighed a relief.

But today again the same emergency call only shows. Its been 5 hours already, still haven't any network. As usual, already tried the restart Phone several times.

    My phone is defective?

    Anyone else facing this problem?

I think that your best course of action now would be to use a SIM card of appropriate size.

Please be aware that a badly cut SIM can damage the SIM tray, but let's first try the new SIM card and see if it works.

  • How to detect incoming calls in the background?

    Hello

our application works in the background (and playes audio). We are looking for a way to detect incoming calls (and to stop playing).

It comes to CLDC app, not a moped.

Is it possible in background mode and how? In which case I can listen?

If not, is it possible in the leading fashion and how?

I guess we can add a net.rim.blackberry.api.phone.PhoneListener and use the callIncoming method
in the main application, but it works in background mode?

If anyone can confirm, I would appreciate... Thank you...

@ BBDev, but when a call is incoming, and then sound stops automatically right? And we don't have to capture the event however!

    Thank you!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones stuck in emergency call only and can not enter my password safe alpha that will only allow numbers

After a software (12 hours) update my Blackberry Curve 9320 is stuck in mode 'emergency calls only '.  I have an alpha security password, so it allows me to enter it will allow of only to try to fix or reconnect to the network - numbers from the keyboard.

Tried to remove and reinsert the battery - no joy.

How do I either get my password entered or exit emergency calls only?

    Hello

Resolved to myself.  Already had a digital security password so I tried to put that in.  It was accepted & seemed to allow the network to reconnect that meant while I was off emergency calls only mode & could enter my password safe alpha & enter my phone.

Rather strange but suggested that my SIM card can hold my old password that I used with my last phone.

Unusual scenario but the hope that it might help others.

  • Emergency call from blackBerry Smartphones

Does anyone know if you can remove the "emergency call" option in the menu of release?  Twice now my phone has, for some reason, called 911 while in my case.  Rather boring.

No, it is required by the Federal law now, I recall.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones emergency call button

I heard RIM say that having the emergency call on a locked screen is a "legal obligation".

Can someone quote me this requirement legal excat in the Canada?

I found some decisions.  However, I think that they don't block rim to make improvements in their interface to reduce the likelihood of accidental 9-1-1 calls.

    http://www.CRTC.GC.ca/eng/archive/2003/dt2003-53-1.htm

The current interface allows the call 9-1-1 with two or three clicks that is easy to do in a Pocket (ask any 9-1-1 officer).   RIM should consider changing the interface such that after clicking on "Make an emergency call" the user must always dial the '9' - '1' - '1' in the order.  This does not delay the user any more than ordinary 9-1-1 call from a phone that is locked or asleep.  This should however prevent a significant number of accidental 9-1-1-calls

  • Detect "arrested" call of the sequence status

    Hello

I use TestStand 2012 and one of my sequences is a bunch of sequence calls to other sequences.

Each call is made using the "use new run" and wait for execution ends before the next step.

I use this option because I like having different reports for each sequence.

However, I still would like to capture what call has succeeded or failed in my main sequence.

To do this, after each call, I have a statement whose status expression is:

    (Find (RunState.PreviousStep.ResultStatus, «Passé», 0, True, False) > = 0)) ? 'Past': 'failed '.

The problem I find is that when one of the sequences I call ends in the middle because of an error in the object to measure which does not allow me to continue his tests, the main sequence gets the status of "success."

So, when I see the 'success' in my report of main sequence, I still open the various reports to ensure that it was passed.

If anyone knows a way around this?

I tried to change the expression of the State of the call sequence step, but it is a read-only field.

    Thank you in advance,

    Leandro

OK, that makes sense.  Yes, when you call a sequence in a new run you can store an object reference.  Store everything in a local variable.  Then you can look at the State of this object reference.  Even if you have to play with it because if execution is gone I don't know what state you will get.

Let me know if you have any questions on this subject.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can how put out us an emergency call when the phone is locked

We had new mature 2 days we were... my husband has his in his pocket while he was playing pool.  The door opened and 2 cops came and asked who had that phone number. It turns out that the phone can dial 911 when if locked sound moved around.  The cops were very kind to this topic and said they get about 4 calls a week like that of blackberries.  Someone later told us there is a way to disable it. I looked through the section "help" and can not find a thing... can someone tell me how to proceed? Thank you!!

You can place the devices in Standby Mode After locking. This will prevent the accidental keys in your pocket.

  • SIM for the Q5 blackBerry problems

I used to have a Q5 before until he stole, so I need to go to my Samsung and I ordered another Micro-SIM from the same network (Virgin) and it worked fine.

Today I got an another Q5, so I just pulled out my Samsung and it's stuck my Q5... but he continues saying 'SIM not detected, emergency calls only.

I was at the top of the screen, it says Mobile network (with no sub), settings network and connection and then press that part of the screen and it say that it is on... I have it turned off and turned, but still nothing.

I know that the SIM works and I know that this kind of SIM works with my Q5, then why isn't it works now?

UPDATE: I just tried to wipe my Q5 and the SIM card is not still does not work, so I sort a new SIM from my supplier, hopefully that should fix it. but I doubt it

  • Contact information of accessible emergency since iOS 10 lock screen?

First responders can access emergency on my iPhone contact information if I am not aware to unlock?

    Hi, wtimberman!

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. After reading your post, I understand that you are wanting to know how your emergency information can be found if you are not able to unlock the iPhone. Knowing that someone else would be able to get important medical information and emergency contact on you are certainly a reassuring element of iOS, and I'd be happy to help you!

The customer article below implemented Medical ID, and how this information is available, even if you are not able to pull yourself up.

Set up your medical ID in health app on your iPhone

Article, here's how your information is accessible after you have your medical ID set up:

Make an emergency call and access Medical ID

If an iPhone has a medical ID, you can view medical information of emergency on the device or make an emergency call. To view the Medical ID, open the health app tap Medical ID. If the iPhone is locked, follow these steps:

    1. Press the Home button.
    2. Emergency valve.
    3. On the emergency call screen, you can make a call or tap Medical ID to display medical information of emergency stored on the device.

  • Concerns about 911 (and equivalent) with WiFi calling

I'll take my iPhone to the United Kingdom for a few months and then Israel.  Roaming charges 'works' are crazy, so I'm leaning toward disabling homelessness and by using the Wifi calling feature, because I have Wifi most of the time almost every day.

What worries me and I wonder if others share it: If a person has a heart attack on the sidewalk next to me, I needed to go to the options, re - activate roaming (three or four clicks...), wait for it to connect and then try to remember versions UK or Israel of 911 (for someone who is curious the United Kingdom uses 999 for ambulances, but the 112 for fire and other emergency situations; Israel uses 100/101/102 (police/ambulance/fire brigade), but in theory, they are also used for 911 112 or even, as we do in the United States).

Why isn't Apple just automate all this?

At the present time their Wifi calling already wants to keep me my updated location.  Instead, they might have an option "use Wifi with the exception of emergency situations, wandering around in case of emergency only".  So, if I'm in the United Kingdom and call 911, they may have a version of homelessness that ONLY uses the roaming network for 911 calls and automatically use the right number of premises too.  So I would use Wifi roaming, that emergency calls would actually work without messing with the options tabs and waiting to reassign to a local provider of the phone company.  The phone would actually get on the go, but would not accept incoming calls or send outgoing calls on the roaming provider: he would use Wifi calling for that and for texting and would only use the mobile carrier for 911).

    To clarify:

National emergency services number of the United Kingdom is 999 - including to call police, fire and ambulance.

If you prefer, 112 can be made instead to the United Kingdom for the same purpose (112 can be used throughout the EU).

  • Unable to receive calls from Apple Watch, using WIFI AT & T calls, when the iPhone is turned on, turned off or in Airplane Mode.

I work on this issue and wanted to involve the community.

I have tests the functionality Apple Watch and have been unable to solve my problems with WIFI call. I use the AT & T and I am connect to the strip of the 5 GHz on my router Xfinity.

I am able to make/receive calls from my iPad and Mac laptop when iPhone is off / Mode plane; However, this feature does not work on the watch. I can make and receive calls from the watch when the phone is turned on.

Another problem is that I am not able to send and receive messages (blue or green bubble) of the watch - once again when the phone is turned off or in flight Mode

I'll copy in 2 portions of the Web site: http://help.apple.com/watch/

If your Apple Watch is in range of a Wi - Fi network that the iPhone is connected to before, you can always do the following (even if the iPhone is off):

    • Send and receive digital messages Touch
    • Send and receive messages using Messages
    • Make and receive phone calls (if you have active calls, Wi - Fi, and you are within range of a Wi - Fi connected to your iPhone before)
    • Check current weather conditions
    • Track your inventory

Make calls via Wi - Fi

If your cellular operator offers Wi - Fi calls, you can use Apple Watch to make and receive calls over Wi - Fi instead of cellular network - even when your pair iPhone isn't with you or is disabled. Apple Watch comes to be in range of a Wi - Fi network that is connected to your iPhone in the past.

To see if your carrier offers Wi - Fi calls, see the article Apple Support phone with Wi-Fi calls, then enable the calls on your iPhone and Apple Watch Wi - Fi.

Note: You can make emergency calls via Wi - Fi, but when possible, use rather iPhone over a cellular connection - your location information will be more specific.

Enable on iPhone Wi - Fi calls. On iPhone, go to settings > phone and turn on Wi - Fi calling and application to other devices.

Enable calls on Apple Watch Wi - Fi. Open the Apple Watch app on iPhone, tap My Watch, tap phone, then turn on Wi - Fi calls. If you do not see the parameter, make sure that you have activated calls on iPhone Wi - Fi.

Answer please if you are able to perform any of these functions! And any troubleshooting you can think!

I have... to connect to the 5 GHz on my... router bandwidth.

    Hello

These features are not available because Apple Watch cannot connect to a network of GHz Wi - Fi 5.

If your watch is not connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth, but lying in a 2.4 GHz Wi - Fi network your iPhone plugged in before, the watch can connect to this network and you can continue to use certain features, including Wi - Fi calls (when it is supported by your operator, you already have in place).
