Detection of low tamperproof cover

Hello

recently, I was pleasantly surprised that there is a substantive Tamper detection cover in my T440s (according to the settings of the BIOS/UEFI).

Could someone explain to me how it works, and how it is difficult for an attacker to bypass this detection technique?

And how many times is it possible to make use of this? For example, I already opened my T440s for the installation of an SSD. Detection of sabotage would work when I activate it now, or is it broken after my alteration?

If it works as I've described, it would work again and again. You should always provide the BIOS password and reset the date and time. Maybe someone who has done one of these machines can answer

  • What can I do a low capacity battery?

This battery has literally lasts 1 MINUTE. Windows does not detect the lack of capacity. What should I do?

    Buy a new battery.

I don't know what you mean by "Windows does not detect the lack of capacity".  If you mean that the system has crashed just off the coast instead of detect battery low/reserve/critical levels that you set in power options, then that may just be a symptom of the particular failure path that follows you the battery.

For example, my oldest battery accidents off the power as soon as it gets to about 23 percent of left power - so I had to increase reserves & low levels above that [I chose low 30% & 25% reserve].  My new battery is happy to have a critical level of 3%, which means that I get as much out of it as possible, but when even rest time to save the files and then allow the system to Hibernate / connect to AC.  I continue to use my old battery but should interpret the alert of level of reserve battery in this sense to back up files and hibernation / immediately connect to CA.

  • E-mails do not remain "unread" after scoring their - Mail - iPhone6 - iOS App 9.3.1

I often give a glance to new emails and then mark them as 'unread', in order to read them more carefully in the future.

Since iOS8 I have problems with marking messages as unread in the Mail application.

To be more precise, the emails are always correctly marked as unread when I do, although sometimes I find them automatically return to "read", after a few minutes.

It's not the first time that I ask for help on this forum and I was not able to solve the problem.

I use Hotmail and Gmail and both accounts have this problem.
I'm starting to think that the problem is related to the "low power Mode" (which I turned on almost 24/24), although I'm not entirely sure. It could be that in this mode, the device refuses to update the background applications and if the State of the (/ unread) email has not been communicated successfully on the server until the Mail application is 'closed', it cannot be changed.

    Thank you

You could possibly have the answer to your question-

What is the low power Mode

Low power mode performs a number of actions to save the battery power. It changes some settings automatically to save the battery, turn off auto fetch new messages, lower your screen brightness and automatically lock the phone and turn off its display more quickly. Apps can detect in low power mode is enabled and choose to disable animations and other characteristics of the battery-hungry, too.

So you could be right - when return you to a normal power - read status gets pushed again because the unread was never disclosed on the server

  • Warranty - correct way

    Hi all!

In April of this year, I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite L50 - A 1EK. Laptop from the start has not caused problems - but before leaving for the contract, I noticed a small scratch on the screen - due to the fact that flowed out of 5 month contract, I could do nothing about the problem.

Meanwhile on a laptop from day to day, were growing scratches - trained EXACTLY on the line of contact around the keyboard and control panel touchapad. So I checked the spacers rubber that are glued around the screen - there is much too low - that cover around the hand plastic screen keyboard and screen elements - which are formed in these visible scratches of places.

In addition, the passage of time could not come at the top of the screen faintly visible Goblet of shadows - is not printing, because the laptop was open and had not moved somehow - and the fingerprints regularly - are also increasingly. Please advice how to get information on my problem - my rights, etc.
    .

    Hello

If there is any kind of problem with your machine, I recommend that you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider, explain the situation and ask for help. They can explain to you how it works and what can be done with your machine.

I hope that your machine is registered by Toshiba and you still have the original invoice.

    Hello

I recently had problems with my A300D.

During normal use, the screen has behaved weird, became white and normal several times until it stopped working. When I rebooted the green light, the DVD is available and I can detect two low beeps. That's all. No logo, no to enter bios, nothing.

I tried remove the batttery, cut the power and press the power button for the minutes and start sto attemtpetd with and without battery to no gain.

The computer is powered with a correct voltage (19.4 V measured) but does not start.
What is the CMOS battery that needs to be replaced?
    Or bad memory?

That indicates the only two beeps?
    Motherbooard defective?

Any advice or ideas are appreciated.

    Thank you

  • Hinges E530c Thinkpad Edge

The left hinge of my laptop is not shut down properly. He cracked the lower subwoofer. Is there a way without taking all the pieces to determine if it is the medium or the hinge. I would like to remedy but don't want to order the two pieces if it is not necessary. I think it's support because if I hold down together I am able to shut up. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Candie0825,

Thanks for the shots, according to the guidelines of the snapshot attached, I see that there is damage in the lower base cover and as you said about hinges it clearly states that the two hinges should be replaced because the hinges comes with a pair according to my knowledge. So, here both sides could get replaced (IE, the coverage of basic LCD low and hinges). However, I would ask you to take the laptop to the nearest after-sales service for the fixed number.

  • activate the external clock

Alrighty, I'm a total noob to LabView and others. I'm at the point where I don't even know if I know is relevant, so forgive if I give too much information and probably not enough.

    I've got:

    cDAQ-9174 chassis

9422 module into the connector #2

This 9422 module will be connected to a meter that will send a square wave. What I need is the frequency of the square wave. Problem is, I don't have any idea how to get it.

I open a new .vi and use the DAQassist. From there I select entry counter and then I tried the frequencies and Edge Count.

At the end of the day, either it usually gets me the following error message:

    Error-200284 occurred to...

    Possible reasons:
Some or all of the requested samples are not yet acquired.

I guess that one I did most of the research is the counting of edge. It is continuous samples because I need to monitor the flow rate at the time rather than only to count the edges of time 0 until I stop the VI. So there are different ways to treat this error include changing the timeout value, something to do with 'samples to read' and 'sample rate', and then that it seems to me that I have to do: since the buffered continuous one requires an external clock, which is specified in the tab "Advanced Timing" of the menu properties DAQassist I have a lot of things to choose from. It seems/I/SampleClock or/ao/SampleClock is the thing to choose, but then several Web pages continue to say to make sure that the external clock is actually "run", or any word in this sense. So I tell myself, my external clock isn't doing anything and that's why reading isn't acquire samples. But really, I'm just lost. Then...

    Question 1:

Is what I'm working on the best/right way to go about doing this?

    Question 2:

How can ensure me that this external clock done everything what it is supposed to do so that I can get samples still for edge counting?

Well, my ignorance is exposed, please fire away. I have attached the .vi, although I don't think it will tell you anything other than I know how to click the mouse button when running LabView.

County Board is time since you don't have a sample clock.  You can provide one from many sources, but in your case I suggest sticking to a task of frequency measurement I won't go into it now.

The frequency could be time for a number of possible reasons:

    1. the external signal is not connected to the right Terminal (the default IS terminal your meter chosen if you not him have not overridden with a property DAQmx node which is not possible in the DAQ Assistant).  For the 9422:

    2. the signal may be connected to the right Terminal, but perhaps, it does not meet the specifications of the 9422 to be detected)<5V low,="" 11-60v="" high).=""  you="" can="" verify="" whether="" or="" not="" the="" signal="" is="" being="" detected="" using="" a="" test="" panel="" (counter="" edge="" counting="" to="" determine="" if="" the="" signal="" is="" present)="" in="" measurement="" and="" automation="">

3 tasks of frequency are sampled off the input signal - so if the input signal does not switch when you start the program or if there is a long break (longer), you will receive the time-out error when the reading function blocks for more than your specified time-out.  You should be able to just 'manage' the time-out error so that if it happens you can report a frequency of 0, ignore the error and try to read it again.  There are also other approaches such as using events DAQmx or samples available to read to vote, but none of them are available through the DAQ Assistant (the idea is that you avoid making DAQmx Read blocking call until you know there are samples to read).

Configure a task of frequency is a better option for you, because it will give more precise (although you can set a task of County of edge to behave similarly to a frequency measurement task, this is trickier and you can also use the DAQ assistant).  You can start out by setting 1 sample (on request) for the synchronization mode - this will return a single sample as soon as it is available.  If you put the DAQ Assistant, in a loop, you will get a new sample at each iteration (or if your input signal goes, the samples will stop coming in and you'll get time-out errors instead).  The downside is that you will not receive a sample on each side - entry task is reset by software and during this downtime between the samples will take no new data.  This should be good for the case of the use you described (the frequency of a continuous square wave periodically monitoring).

So, make sure that the external signal conforms to the specifications of the 9422, and it is connected to the correct terminal (the PFI line which is equivalent to the DOOR of your meter by default).  If your external signal is less than 0.2 Hz (1 sample every 5 seconds) you will need to move away from the DAQ assistant, as it seems that it is not possible to set the timeout of read using the DAQ Assistant (surprisingly).  You might want to look in the API of DAQmx lower level anyway - here is a simple example to help you get started in the affirmative.  It's really not too complicated and once you get used to it will be less heavy than using the DAQ Assistant.

  • upgade memory

I have an Acer Aspire 5251-1513 with 2 GB of memory original. I never put to memory level, but would like to try. Can I do it myself? Everything I need is enough to play some MMORPG online, maybe a total of 4 to 6 GB? I tried to play the way of exile, but screen freezes and I get started... any help/suggestions?

I think that your max RAM is 8 GB (2 x 4 GB).
If you wish, you can replace one of your sticks of 1 GB with 4 GB, for a total of 5 GB.
Without doubt, replace the two 1 GB sticks with 4 GB ones to get the maximum 8GB is the best option.

I do not have access to the details of your model, but there is no doubt in my mind that you can make the update yourself. Note, however, that some are more difficult than others. If you have direct access to the RAM, which should be simple. If this isn't the case, you may need to remove the lower housing cover. Worst case, it's where you also need to remove the motherboard.

Also note that increase the RAM may not allow you to play some games. You must ensure that your graphics card/chip set meets the software requirements.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Priv bricks during update MM

    Hello everyone,

As a user of BB for a long time (since the curve 8310 until the Passport), I couldn't resist the temptation and I ended up buying a private AT & T unlocked the B & H store in Manhattan during my vacation.

As soon as I come home in Spain, I started the MM updated procedure with an autoloader, according to the following instructions: http://global.blackberry.com/en/support/smartphones/blackberry-PRIV/reload.html

I downloaded the SW AAF355 version and drivers USB (computer restarts after the installation).

Installation script has detected the Priv in fastboot mode after lowering the volume + key combination of power and apparently started the update, but suddenly the phone restarted with black screen and led flashes between purple and green.

Quick notes: I've updated devices BB10 via autoloader a couple of times and I did the update did not complete successfully using Mac OS (latest version), but I tried tha same procedure from a W7 PC too.

Now, I'm still stuck with black screen and led flashing and computer does not detect the phone more. I tried all combinations of possible keys try to restart the phone but no luck.

So I ask help to members of the community on what can I do to get it fixed, cause I think that the problem of Mayor is I'm in Spain...

    Thanks in advance.

OK, it seems that I finally I could remedy then I'll write the steps that I followed, just in case.

In my case, I was not able to start the phone in following mode fastboot with all combinations of keys, and the computer it has not detected:

    -Low volume + button.

    -High volume + button.

-All buttons pressed at the same time.

But after some trial and error, I pressed the middle (the toddler between flight up and down) button + power button and the phone started in mode 'starting'

The computer detects it and loaded MM autoloader (first attempt get stuck again, but a 2nd went until the end). After that the phone boot up normally.

Thanks to all the members of the BB community and have a nice day!

  • All types of E420 has interface mSATA?

    Hi all

I just got a ThinkPad Edge E420 type 1141-RH8 & intend to install mSATA SSD someday. Yesterday, I visited a Lenovo local repair center to fix a minor problem. I also asked the technician on the mSATA interface on my laptop. After the technician has checked my computer, he said that there is no available mSATA interface. MSATA interface only available on several types of E420, but not all of them?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

    Haris

Remove the lower housing cover (4 screws) and look at the right of the space behind the drive. This is where the mSATA would go. In my E420 1141 - A24, I see the drive of mSATA connector but I do not know if it is enabled by the motherboard. Search the site for the 'Hardware Maintenance Manual for E420 and E425' Lenovo. He explains how to remove and install the mSATA and all the rest of your E420. Good luck!

  • Import of media browser and what is the meaning of ' compliant audio "for Premiere Pro

The resolution of the problems of audio dropout there are a few recommendations:

1 is to import via media browser. I always do this, but what is the difference between that and "importer" via the file menu or drag / drop to the level of the finder/Explorer?

2 is to "wait for the audio to be similar." What does that mean? Historically consistent referred to the construction of an online version (high resolution) of a sequence of 'offline' version of lower resolution. It is rare to comply audio as it was captured in general integral quality as well as much smaller than video space considerations.

I do see the "PIC file generation" that occur and disabled it automatically generate because it takes so much time and consumes so many resources.

What is Adobe medium by audio "in line"? I do not see what to do (unless there's a lower quality cover, built for some reason any?)

    Thanks for any information

1 tapeless media took us two steps forward, but also a step backwards.  Instead of a single file per clip containing audio, video, time and metadata code (what we had with DV), plus all formats enter a folder stupid and often labyrinthine structure.  Sometimes the video and audio in a single file, sometimes is not.  But even when they are, most of the cameras will write several files for longer clips (called covering), because they still use the seriously outdated FAT32 file system, which can create files up to 4 GB.  Some cameras will even write each image as an individual file.

Given this mess, try to change some of these formats by using the method of normal import will create havoc with your clips in PP.  Adobe solution is the media browser, who can understand the stupidass records and bring in the clips as if they were correctly created - one file for each clip containing audio, video, code time and metadata.
