  On my SBS 2003 network with six or so field PC clients and a few extra non-domaine workgroup (a few XP, some Windows 7) PCs, computers can access each other using \\computername. When I change the IP normally assigned by dhcp to a computer on my network to a static IP address, sometimes the other computers can no longer use \\computername, but I now have to use \\ip-adress instead.

  For example, A computer can open the folder "\\mypc\shared". I change the IP address on "MyPC" to a static IP, 192.168.0.220. Now the other computer must use \\192.168.0.220\shared"to access this folder '; \\mypc\shared' returns an error that the specified computer could not be found (or something like that).

  This can be a master browser problem, look in the event viewer for clues, these browser issues usually register error event ID 8021 and 8032.

  The problem with your Exchange databases failover to the other node in the cluster during vMotion is due to heart rate is lost between the nodes during the migration.  This is the same problem that appears in Exchange 2010, when you perform a vMotion and there are solutions documented (of Microsoft) to get around that.

  Before discussing make these solutions work with Exchange 2007 and Windows Server 2008, I looked up the political support of Microsoft for Exchange 2007 and virtualization.  Short version - vMotion is not supported in Exchange 2007.  See below:

  This description sounds a bit like a mix between vMotion and vSphere HA to be honest, but it is directly from Microsoft for Exchange 2007 support page.

  For me, if Exchange is a critical application, then that's the end of the story and I wouldn't try to use vMotion.  I switch on services between the nodes in the CCR cluster and stop the passive node when I needed to perform the ESX host maintenance, etc..

  If you want to test at least to see if you can get vMotion to work, you can adjust the cluster heartbeat timeout settings in Windows to leave more time for the vMotion to complete before the cluster fails over to the passive node.  Instructions for how to do this are in the blog post following (bearing in mind that, although the blog is specially for Exchange 2010, the controls are Windows commands that should also work with Exchange 2007):

  So in short - you can probably do vMotion works correctly by changing cluster heartbeat timeout values, but it is probably not worth since the configuration is not supported anyway.  If you want to adjust the values of pulsation of cluster you test this in a development environment before making the change in production.

  One last bit - if your organization has a Microsoft Premier support agreement, then Microsoft will probably support the configuration even if the documentation says that it is not supported.  Check if your organization has this level of an agreement of support and if so, check with your Microsoft representative as vMotion for Exchange 2007 configuration is supported.  Make sure you explicitly Exchange 2007 because we know that it is supported for Exchange 2010.

I finally locate a guaranteed HP page that allows me to type in the serial numbers of 10 or more and get a report of the beginning of the warranty and end dates. I guess the warranty start date would be coincinde with the date of purchase or close to it, so I'm happy with this info.

  The link you have provided today with computer laptop page wanted to give me the number of the product and serial number and unfortunately the reports that I have to go have that the serial number, make and model, the detailed characteristics of the speed of the processor, the memory installed, current BIOS installed, but no number of product so it is not as useful I fell at last on the page.

  I was working with LabVIEW 8.6. Recently, I reconfigured its name and the IP address of my desktop computer and rebooted the system (recommended once you change the IP address). Then I manually deleteg 1.2 GB of LabVIEW files from my "c" drive program files Then I started to reinstall LabVIEW 8.6 but I get the error message that ends the installation. I tried retracting towards the former name of intellectual property and the system was not working and also tried the system restore is not working too.

  When I tried to open LabVIEW after initial reboot (i.e. restart after setting up my IP address) I got an error message saying "Unable to open LabVIEW, program completed/closed" error message similar to one when you complete a program thro' Task Manager and you get an od option send error report and do not send report. After that, I went to add/remove programs to uninstall LabVIEW, when I tried to delete I received a warning message "this French program has been uninstalled" and the LabVIEW icon has been removed from the Add/Remove list of immediately. Then I looked at my size in my c drive OR folder, here I have a 1.2 GB of files OR installed; so I manually deleted them (thinking that this would help prevent the crash/corrupt new files when reinstalling). So when I started to reinstall I got SDK Service error - error 12.

  It is a part of volume license

  It looks like my hard drive crashed, so changed to hard drive and reinstalled on the new drive, looks like it's working fine now.

• Need Urgent help on the problem of Autocad application on a virtual desktop performance

  I was faced with a delicate issue with the VDI implementation that was carried out a few months back.
  The client uses a few applications Auto CAD on HP thin clients and portable computers.
  They have questions only on thin clients HP and all works fine when using the dedicated portable computers.
  When accessing files Autocad a few kilobytes, they are able to function properly on thin clients because there is no lag when they zoom, zoom.
  But when they access the files that are a few megabytes ~ 5MB, they have problems with cursor jumping, clicks delayed and problems with zoom in zoom out.
  Kindly throw light upon the question above that we are unable to crack down between implemented VDI and HP thin clients.
