  Simulators will not work on just * nix. You can try the wine, but your best bet is parallels or VMWare.

  If you want to do everything and use only a device for the test, you still have a chance to be * nix only.   Its been about 2 weeks since I've updated my phone to froyo through motorola.com/update update. At first I did not notice anything, but now I realize the following points:

  The app itself is so standard web technology, with the ability to use native APIs via WebWorks. And WebWorks place it in a container that can be run on a physical device.
