840 M6u35aw G2 #abh: HP 840 G2 no sound after reinstalling windows 10

Hello

Had to reinstall my OS and for some reason I can't get audio to work. I tried to update the latest drivers (realtek hd audio) and even tried older drivers, but I can't not all sound on my laptop. Before reinstalling my OS (win10 64) evereything worked very well.  Anyone who has a solution?

Hello

See if running the sound windows troubleshooting tool highlights the problems.

You also have the opportunity to test the audio in the menu diagnosis uefi by pressing f2 at startup.

EDIT:  Its also useful to check that the audio is activated in the Bios Menu (press f10 at startup) - the option is usually located on the Advanced tab. Built in the device options... Audio device.

Kind regards

    Hello

Just installed al new mx200 m.2 crial in my 840 G2 ssd. He appears in the BIOS and when I use Crucial Customer Executive Storage but not in windows Explorer. Someone knows why or how to fix it?

    Thank you

Is there anything on this Crucial SSD even?  As an operating system or data files?  You can see in the Bios?

If the SSD is still empty, you may need to set up to be used with the help of configuration for the Crucial SSD utility if they a.

Or if Crucial does not provide such a utility, try to initialize the drive in the Control Panel/computer management/storage.

Once the disk initialized, then you can format or let Windows when you install an OS on the SSD drive windows.

  • EliteBook 840 D1F44AV: Legal re-installation of Windows / COA

    Hello

Having a sticker of COA that reads HP Windows 7 Pro OA to the back of the laptop means that the laptop comes with legal pre-installed Windows, if so can I use any windows media to reinstall as long as it's the same version, or should I use a HP recovery DVDs? that is important if the Windows I'm trying to install is 32-bit or 64-bit? I ask because I have an Elitebook 840 that has what I think a windows no legitimate Pro 7 32bits and there is no recovery partition.

    Thank you

    b_read

The presence of a Win7 COA sticker means that the PC has been preinstalled at the factory with a version of Win7 OEM HP.

You cannot use any version of Win7 to replace that, because only an OEM version will activate using the product key that came with your PC.

IF you are using an OEM HP's version, it will activate, but HP is more for older PC Win7 recovery media.  Instead, you must check this site to see if they still carry the media for your PC: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

From the point of view of activation, it doesn't matter if it's 32-bit or 64-bit, because they use the same product key, but if you are installing a different version, you may not be able to find the HP drivers for it, as HP mainly provides 64-bit computers.

    Good luck

  • Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti may need BIOS update.

I am trying to install a card grafics of nvidia GeForce GTX 550 it on my Compaq Presario desktop computer.
Model SR5115NL product number GN729AA-ABH equipped Windows Vista 32.

The message I get from the Device Manager is:
"This device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31). »

It may have something to do with the port of Intel(r) 945 G/GZ/GC/P/PL PCI Express Root - 2771 which has also a problem
"Your computer's system firmware includes enough information to properly configure and use this device.
To use this device, contact the manufacturer to obtain a firmware or an update of the BIOS of your computer. (Code 35) »

I downloaded the latest drivers from NVIDIA and even install them manually.
Next, I visited the site of HP and used the tool updated to update the drivers and BIOS, but so far zero.

    What should do?

    Success in the end.

Use a PNY program to check the graphics card, it was concluded that the material was OK.

So it was very probably the Device Manager or the operating system, which have been unable to detect the graphics card properly and read its hardware ID.

After reinstalling Windows Vista, PCI-e by selecting view adapter in the Bios setup, all went well.
The card has been recognized, the driver has been installed and everything works as it should.

  • Z500: Samsung 840 evo does not (under windows)

    Hello

I replaced the build-in the hard drive in my Ideapad Z500 with a brand new Samsung 840 evo and tried to install Windows 8.1 on it.

(I also replaced the dvd player with a hard drive caddy, where I put the old hdd)

    Unfortunately, I can't install windows.

Whenever I try to format the primary partition, nothing happens for about 3 minutes, and then he throws the error code 0 x 80070057 "unable to create partition" (actual description is in German)

When I boot from the old hdd and try to format the SSD inside windows, it does not either.

Magician tells me, everything is fine with the ssd, but it cannot perform all tests, because there is no volume

    SATA controller mode is AHCI.

    Boot mode is UEFI.

    Here's what I've tried:

-In installation: diskpart-> disk list-> select disk-> own-> convert gpt-> exit (exits without errors)

    -Manual partitioning with parted magic

Someone at - it an idea that doesn't require you to disassemble the laptop new? That's what I want to only try if all else fails. I was very careful when you replace the readers and did not notice any physical damage, suspicious sounds, etc.

  • EliteBook 840 G2: EliteBook 840 G2 - SCCM 2012R2 driver problem / OSD

We have a System Center R2 2012 with Elitebook 840 G1 environment works fine with the deployment of the operating system. However, our G2 models is not able to present the same task sequence that it restarts on the 'Preparing network connection' part of the WinPE Startup.

We injected the most recent pilot network to download the drivers to hp.com and driver still more recent intel.com (both drivers judged separately) to the boot image.

The driver is (even though I'm aware that the chip is now called 218, it still bears the name of the 217 driver):

    Intel(r) Ethernet connection I217-LM

    tested versions:

    12.12.80.1950

    12.12.80.19

    How can we solve this?

I answer my own op, in case someone else might have trouble with this:

This man was right! (see LINK below)

For deployment of HP EliteBook 840 G2 with SCCM 2012 R2 Windows 7 , you need the driver for Windows 8.1 and newer OS' are injected to the boot image (not the Sysprep one).

  • Portege R700 - SSD installation: a succesfull and the other failed

For what it's worth I just short wants to share my learnings SSD:

    1. I bought a Newton GTX 500 GB Corsair for my R700 (i5, W7). Looked to work ok after normal cloning, but often the PC froze and I couldn't restart it. Only way to continue was to force its rotation down with the power button. I've always had this message when starting:

+ PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable for. +
    + PXE - M0F: exit Intel Boot Agent. +
+ Insert system disk in drive. +
+ Press any key when ready... +.

Only way to go was to force down once again and then the Pc may start and open windows. I've updated all the drivers I could think of-including Intel - but the problem persisted. Please note that this happened at the time with no systematic behavior, at least what I could understand.

    2. I got cold feet for this behavior and I bought a new R930, exchanged relative small with a bigger Samsun 840 Pro 500 GB SSD HARD drive. No problem, works very quickly and smoothly!

    3. I can now reinstall Windows 7 on the older R700 with the Corsair SSD - and now this machine works without any of the oldest problems, but I Don t understand.

Any of you have seen something similar?
    / Anders

    > Anyone of you seen something similar?

Of course. PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable error is displayed because the laptop has attempted to boot from LAN.
Usually, this happens because of faulty HARD drive.

    > 2. I got cold feet for this behavior and I bought a new R930, exchanged relative small with a bigger Samsun 840 Pro 500 GB SSD HARD drive. No problem, works very quickly and smoothly!

I n t have this laptop Portege but I ve bought the same shape of my laptop Tecra SSD drive.
After cloning, the data on the drive to SSD drive using the software, which was part of the SSD HARD drive package, start the laptop much more quickly. I m very satisfied.

I just bought a new (840 EVO 250 GB) SSD for my L855-149 and I would like to reinstall windows 8 on this new SSD. In addition, I would like to migrate all the recovery partitions that are present on the HARD disk plant.

What is the best way to do it?
Is there a tool to Toshiba for that? I don't have the installation for Windows 8 diskettes.

    Please notify.

    Hello

On Toshiba laptops, you can always find a preinstalled tool called creator Toshiba average recovery.
This tool creates the recovery (disk or flash USB stick) media
With the help of this recovery media, you will be able to put the laptop to factory condition, including all partitions that were available the first day of the purchase.

  • LAN - installation of an Ethernet controller

    Hi all

I know, this issue has already been discussed, but after all, my attempts to make my card Ethernet works correctly, I decided to ask someone who had the same problem and actually reached the happy end. ;)

So, I reinstalled Windows XP on my laptop, but with Windows XP Professional Edition. After the reinstallation of the OS, I as much as possible followed installation steps according to the content and the Installation so that Windows XP.

Problem is, there is not any software listed on the support page. But the greatest is, the Ethernet (LAN) card, there is no binary executable installation to install the LAN Driver.
On page mentioned, there are two available pilots, one of 100LAN Intel and the other of the GLan Thoshiba, but as you can see below, I found there only PROUnstl.exe executable file and have no idea how the Ethernet card work, without relocation to the standard edition using recovery CD and drivers CD, create tools and. Back again.
Y at - there someone who can help me with my problem?

Thank you very much for the support

  • New SSD in T430, Windows does not, tried everything...

    Hello

I bought a T430 a week ago. I'm not completely inept with computers: I have successfully added an another 4 GB of RAM with no problems.

Then I wanted to replace my HDD with my SSD. I know that the SSDS works because he was in another laptop. I put it in an external dock; It hooked up to my T430. He allowed. I kept safe backup HARD drive, I used several times since then. I also did a recovery of Windows on a CD disc.

I cloned the HARD drive on my SSD using EaseUS software and said to make it bootable. It didn't for me, so I blamed the software.

Then I used Acronis True Image to make a bootable copy of my setup on a USB key. I turned on the computer with just the SSD (empty) and tried to load the USB key. My computer does not recognize the bootable copy of white point. Everything takes back me to a screen asking me which drive I want to start since several times.

Good then, I said, clone the HDD to the SSD and try the bootable USB. Has done this, but it had no effect. Same problem as above.

Okay okay, let's try a new installation on the SSD using the recovery disk. That's when the real fun happens. I get to the menu on the theme of Lenovo System Recovery, and I click Next. Then I get a warning message saying "this version of the System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows that you want to repair. Try to use a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of Windows. What? I did only this morning. I don't think that the main Windows updates has been since then! (Just in case, I made an even more recent recovery disc tonight. I had the same error).

Then I erased the SSD and tried the recovery on the own SSD disk. Same mistake once again. Recovery disks do not work, the system does not recognize the USB copy and the SSD cloned (and allegedly boot-loan) does not start.

What is going on? All I'm doing is replace my with my SSD HARD drive and running Windows 7. I don't think it would be this hard

    Some additional points:

-I'm inserting readers. The computer can read it is a series of 840 Samsung SSD.

-There is no problem with the USB. My office can read very well and sees that there are 29GB of stuff there.

-J' have changed the boot order in the BIOS to load the disk USB (or CD) first.

-J' disabled the safe boot option in the BIOS.

-J' tried UEFI, inheritance, etc. etc., mixture of both.

-Yes, it's a legitimate copy of Windows. It came with the computer a week ago. There is [i] might [/ i] a question I try to reinstall Windows 7 on SSD, but the only recovery disks that come with the computer are Windows 8... but then how do I get Win 7 on my SSD?

-J' looked for in the forums. None of the solutions proposed (for most listed above) have worked.

Any help would be appreciated, people.

I had one extra hiccup. The disc of Windows 7 could not find the product key for activation/product on the BIOS. Couldn't any semi-douteux program I downloaded. So I could not allow Windows 7.

I called Lenovo. They said it was my fault for using disks of Windows recovery instead of Lenovo recovery disks. (God forbid! It really should not matter. It is a terrible approach the part of Lenovo who their initial recovery disks gave me an error about the licenses, but yet they apparently do not support the Windows stocks recovery disks.) In any case, after that I said to the officer - in my polite way - that it is a ridiculous scenario, she offered to send me Lenovo recovery disks.

I agreed. They arrived today. I reinstalled Windows and now everything works fine.

In the case where someone reads this thread in the future: ask Lenovo will send you recovery disks Win 7 Pro and use after the installation of the SSD. It considerably facilitates the process.

  • Desktop HP Envy h8 - 1420t CTO: problem Samsung SSD causing with upgrading 8.0 to 8.1 Windows

I can't upgrade my OEM installed Windows 8.0 to 8.1 HP desktop computer.  First, I tried the upgrade when 8.1 was deployed for the first.  It seemed to level OK, but after a reboot I found myself with a black screen... no error message, just a black screen.

I retried it this morning, but this time it failed with DPC_Watchdog_Exception, then Machine_Check_Exception.  After looking in several forums, I'm "guess" it is maybe disk 0, which is a Samsung 830 Series SSD (model: MZ7PC256 / 0:1, s/n: S0U3NSAC705912 p/n: MZ7PC256HAFU - 000: 1) which has been installed and configured by HP, when I ordered this computer from office in 2012.

Magician of Samsung software does not recognize this SDS supported a product, but they identify it as a Samsung MZ7PC256HAFU - 000: 1, with Firmware version CXM05H1Q.  I thought I'd see if a firmware update is available, but there is no information about this SSD on the Samsung support site. In addition, HP doesn't offer not just any which firmware for this SSD, not even the original firmware.  What I saw on the internet says that it is a custom SSD OEM which is not taken in charge by Samsung.

I'm not desperate to upgrade to Win8.1, but I would like to know exactly why the canned upgrade fails.  I have an other available SSD (a Samsung 850 Pro, model: MZ-7KE256BW) that I considered to use to replace the current drive 0, but I hate swapping parts without knowing that this is really the problem.

I am open to advice. The info on my current system follows. Furthermore, I note that there is no conflict of devices or outdate drivers.

    Hello

Don't forget that the W8 is fully updated before upgrading to W8.1. I would suggest to run for a while after the W8.1 update and see if your PC is stable.  If so, then manually a system restore point and then continue the Windows Update process. If your PC is stable after that Windows updates have been applied then manually take another system restore point and proceed to apply the HP recommended software updates for the W8.1 that are posted for your PC.

  • Re install windows 8?

Okay, so I bought my dell Inspiron 15 3521 to Wal-Mart about a year and a half, provided with windows 8.1 on it, well I have got rid of him and put windows 7 ult on it and an ssd pro 840 samsung in here, anyway is anyway to reinstall my windows 8 or I have to buy a disc?

    Hello

I understand that you want to reinstall Windows 8.1. In addition, if the system hard drive was formatted during the installation of Windows 7, which would have removed the original image and so buying a DVD of resettlement would be your next option.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
