Developer SQL could start!

Hello:
Sorry to post new thread abot my problem. I found many threads talking about a similar problem but I couldn't find the answer.
I downloaded the latest version - so far - of SQL Developer 2.1.1.64.45 (Oracle SQL Developer for 32-bit Windows (this zip file contains the JDK1.6._11)). and after extraction and running, the following error message appears
This application has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
When I click on the 'OK' button another message appears unable to launch Java Virtual Machine located in the path:...-.. \jdk\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll
...
I use Windows XP SP2 and JVM version 6 update 19.

Thank you

Saad

First of all, check if you have the directory structure, specifically the one mentioned above. If you do not, unzip again with the appropriate structure.
Then check MSVCR71.dll on your system, which should also be in your PATH environment variable (usually \Windows\System32). If it isn't, get your search engine.

Hope that helps,
K.

  • Developer SQL hangs when starting...

Backstory: I had this database fell on my lap when the company, I started working for last October, won the contract.  The developers gave me very little turn over, so I'm digging in my memory when I maintained an Oracle DB in 2002.  My skills are very dated, so please, be gentle.

    Oracle Windows Server 2003 10.2.0.0.0

    Oracle SQL program Version 4.0.2

I initially installed sqldeveloper without worrying about Java.  I got an error and the research revealed that the JDK is not installed and was trying to use JRE...  I installed the JDK 1.7.0 55.  Now when I run sqldeveloper, the splash screen comes up with a loading bar... He goes to about 10% of the bar and sits there exciting.  Happening for hours.  What I am doing wrong?  What other information do you need?  Thank you.

You reinstall sqldeveloper once you have installed the JDK? Developer SQL saves the value in the Java House in sqldeveloper.conf under E:\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin (at least it does in version 3.0). You can try to update the path of this file if it is incorrect, but it is probably safe to reinstall everything.

  • Developer SQL does not start on Mac OS x Lion

    Hello

hoping someone can help me with this one, I've been running 3 SQL Developer on the macbook no problem for about a year, I have recently updated to Mac OS x Lion and now when I try to start SQL Developer, he is not running.

I downloaded and installed the latest version of java, as noted on the download page of SQL Developer.

When I start the SQL Developer and view the activity monitor the 'bash' process starts to use 100% of the CPU very quickly and Developer SQL can't yet to the start screen.

Can someone point me in the right direction in terms of diagnosing this problem? Is there a log file I can see again or how to start the SQL Developer with specific arguments?

    Kind regards
    Stu

Developer SQL works for me on my Macbook the Lion. Corresponding host Java looks like:

    /System/library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.JDK/contents/home

Here's how my conf file is set up:

    AddVMOption - Dcom.apple.mrj.application.apple.menu.about.name = "SQL_Developer"
    AddVMOption - Dcom.apple.mrj.application.growbox.intrudes = false
    AddVMOption - Dcom.apple.macos.smallTabs = true
    AddVMOption - Dapple.laf.useScreenMenuBar = true
    True SetSkipJ2SDKCheck
    SetJavaHome /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home
    AddVMOption - Xbootclasspath/p:... /... /RDBMS/jlib/ojdi.jar

    (/ Applications/SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/Resources/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper/bin/sqldeveloper-Darwin.conf)

    Good luck!

  • Developer SQL does not start

    Hello

I just downloaded SQL Developer 4.1.1.19, I instaled java jdk and tried to run the sqldeveloper.exe file. Developer SQL window opens, it says loading, progress bar moves up to something like 10% and then it just stops without any error or warning.

Anyone have any idea what should I do?

I've moved the SQL folder to C directly and it worked...

  • Developer SQL 4.1.2.20 Build HAND-20, 64: cannot drag-and - drop in editor files include "#" in the name or the path

Developer SQL 4.1.2.20 Build HAND-20, 64: I am not able to drag-and - drop a file from Windows Explorer into the SQL Developer Editor window if the name of the file or the path includes sharp «#» Unfortunately, my main directory structure contains a ' # ' in one parent folder names and I use drag-and - drop all the time... it is, I used to. :-)

I am running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit with Service Pack 1

It wasn't a problem in the previous version of SQL Developer 4.1.1.19 build HAND - 19.59.

Thanks to study deeply and providing a repeatable test. It is a very strange edge cases.  Particularly interesting is...

This same issue exists for JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 12.2.1.0.0

After my tests in SQL Developer 4.1.2 the question seems to be, that say you, trying to open any file (I tried sql, xml, and pkb types) by drag-and - drop from Explorer Windows to a publisher of target opened on a XML file with a symbol of hash somewhere in the specification of the file it is.

First of all, as a solution, I thought that I could recommend that you drag-and - drop since our view > files browser rather than Windows Explorer.  Which avoids the question and even you will descend on the Start Page tab, any worksheet or another editor must be opened before hand. However, there is a completely different problem with that: try to close the last tab of the XML Editor open blocking the entirety of the product.

As you do not declare it against a release of the Early Adopter, where our team connect the bug, the standard procedure is so that you can open a service request with the support of the Oracle. My research did not turn any latest bug as this connected against SQL Developer or JDeveloper.

Edit: In fact, just double click instead of using drag-and - drop from view > files avoids questions, name incorrect both hang at the end.

  • Developer SQL blocks every time when saving

Hello, I am using SQL Developer for the last 6 months on the same project, and just recently, I started running into this question.  Everytime I go to save the entire application crashes and this happens without worrying if I use the shortcut (ctrl + s) or click on the button Save real.  I have this problem consistantly when recording, but it will also happen occationaly when I open a menu, compilation or perform a specific function.  I have tried different ideas to solve the problem as the increase in the value of Xms, disable some preferences, used different java sdk, updated and re-installed but nothing has changed.  My friend who did the same as me is having no problem.  Is there anything I can delete temporary data that could help with this?  I've been looking at other positions, but the only one I've seen that's similar to me is not answered and some points in a similar position, but unanswered, Re: Developer SQL does not is this post.

Here is my error report, it is bigger than my buffer allows then it is cut in the upper part.  I'm working on getting all of this, I just wanted to post this in the meantime.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Why Developer SQL displays arrows (relations) between parent and child tables in my entity relationship diagram?

    Hello

    Oracle version:                     Oracle Database 11 g Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64 bit Production

The version of SQL Developer: 4.0.2.15 - 15.21 build

I have a question about drawing diagram, entity-relationship with SQL Developer & I would be grateful if you could kindly give me a helping hand.

I would like to draw an entity-relationship diagram in order to better visualize the relationship between multiple tables. After a google search, I found the following interesting article indicating the procedure to be followed:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2014/14-may/o34sqldev-2193423.html

(What I need and I'm trying to produce is Figure 4 in the article above)

I made exactly as stated in the article & apparently everything has worked well enough, in other words, I had several UML as rectangles showing columns of tables, their data types, primary and
foreign key and the arrows indicating the link between each parent/child table.

Later, I tried to do the same thing on a different oracle instance and a different database by using the same procedure. Yet, something strange happened this time. Developer SQL printed on-screen tables, once again,.
inside the rectangles with types, keys,... but, there was no arrow showing the link between the tables, I just saw on the grid the selected tables but without any association/relationship shown (as a symbol of an arrow)
    between them.

I repeated the procedure on another instance of development, with a few test tables that I created with primary and foreign keys just to make sure I had followed the procedure correctly. Once again

the test was successful, but when I repeated the test on another instance, the same problem persisted, in other words, no arrow (relationship) between tables.

    Any idea?

This could be due to a lack of privilege on the instance? If Yes, what should be granted in what about roles?

    Thanks in advance

I think that what you see is that not all databases have foreign keys - applications hard-coding relationships vs let the database to handle this.

Connect to this instance different oracle and browse the tables affected - have FK constraints defined on them?

    Thank you!

Try it with sid ORCL instead of XE.

If this does not help, then choose SERVICE_NAME orcl instead of SID in sql developer.

Your listener seems to have an entry for this.

You can also test it in SQl * more. But what you've done so far in SQl * plus was a "server connection", without providing the database.

Because in your case, the client and the server is on the same machine, it works with sql * more.

If you try a customer coonnect by specifying the database, then you would do the same thing as the Oracle SQL Developer is by train.

    For test purposes, something like

    sqlplus user/pwd@host:port/ORCL

also in the Sqlnet.ora file must be an etry for local EZCONNECT connect method. I don't know if it is set during the installation of network by default.

You can try if there is an Alias-TNS name (configured in the tnsnames.ora)

    sqlplus user/pwd@ORCL

If it works with sql * plus, so you must always indicate the sql developer where the tnsnames.ora file is located on your computer.

The setting can be found in the menu: extras/tools/base data/improved

The tnsnames.ora file is usually in a file like this:

    C:\Oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1\network\admin

  • Developer SQL 4.0 ai2 - cannot use OpenLDAP with LDAP connect option

    Hello

I have OpenLDAP installation to work with my Oracle customers to use the TNS connection, instead of having scattered files tnsnames.ora strings about hundreds of servers.

It works very well with 10g / 11g, customers complete and instantaneous, no problem.

Now, I am trying configure SQL Developer 4.0 ai2 working with her, as well.

When I try to do, I am able to select the 'LDAP' option in 'Connection Type', and the drop-down list "LDAP server" is correctly filled with my LDAP server of ldap.ora.

However, when I select it, I get the following error:

Status: Failed-[LDAP: error 32 - No Such Object code]

Now, I did some research and I followed the slapd.log file, which shows me the following:

    Sep 18 02:43:35 slapd einstein [2779]: conn = ACCEPT 1034 fd = 16 = 192.168.125.1:63781 (IP = 0.0.0.0:389) IP address

    Sep 18 02:43:35 slapd einstein [2779]: conn = 1034 op = 0 BIND dn = "" method = 128 "

    Sep 18 02:43:35 slapd einstein [2779]: conn = 1034 op = 0 RESULT tag = 97 err = 0 text =

    "Sep 18 02:43:35 slapd einstein [2779]: conn = 1034 op = base SRCH = 1" "scope = 2 deref = 0"(objectClass=orclContext) = filter. "

    Sep 18 02:43:35 slapd einstein [2779]: conn = 1034 op = 1 tag = 101 err = 32 nentries SEARCH RESULTS = 0 text =

    Sep 18 02:43:35 slapd einstein [2779]: conn = 1034 op = 2 UNBIND

    Sep 18 02:43:35 slapd einstein [2779]: conn = 1034 fd = 16 closed

That is a lot more detail, but reflects the corresponding error code (32 - No Such Object).

After doing some tests with ldapsearch, I was able to reproduce this only developer SQL is done and get the same exact error.

    The ldapsearch command is:

    ldapsearch einstein Pei 389 - c - x d h "" b "" "(objectClass=orclContext)" "

Research in the slapd.log file, I find a mistake similar to what is produced from SQL Developer.

In addition, the query SQL Developer wants can be done successfully with the following ldapsearch:

    ldapsearch h einstein Pei 389 - c - x d ' "b"dc = proquest, dc = com""(objectClass=orclContext) ""

Thus, it seems that the problem is the fact that the SQL Developer does not provide a research base.

I'm not expert LDAP, and I really don't know where to turn next.

Is there a SQL Developer option that allows me to put this basic research?  Is there a setting I'm missing on the LDAP server configuration?

    Thank you

    -Mark

Well, that didn't take long.  I managed to find a solution to the problem.

It boils down to the fact that the SQL Developer does not provide a research base, and my LDAP server had a defined default search base.

When I edited slapd.conf (OpenLDAP configuration file) and add a parameter "defaultsearchbase" and bounced the LDAP, everything started working.

I now have a working with OpenLDAP and Developer SQL configuration.

I'll mark this discussion as closed.

  • Developer SQL 3.2.20 always invites to indicate the path full java.exe

I installed SQL Developer 3.2.9 to 3.2.20 on my Windows 7 64-bit system. I've updated just like I did earlier. It is "installed" in C:\Program Files (x 86) \sqldeveloper and down there, I have a folder for each version that I installed. sqldeveloper_3.1.07.24, sqldeveloper_3.2.09.30 and now sqldeveloper_3.2.20.09.87.

Now the 3.2.20 new version asks me to enter the path to java.exe whenever I start it. I think that the previous version did this, but only once. This new version does not seem to remember when I choose the path to the java.exe that I use.

Any thoughts on how I can do Developer SQL do not forget where my java.exe?

Open the sqldeveloper/bin directory who settle.

Edit the sqldeveloper.conf file and specify the path.

    Save the file.

Behavior indicates that the SQL Developer is not able to write to this file...

  • Developer SQL allows you to create a generation of schema objects script allows?

    Hi all
Developer SQL has all the options to create a schema generation script? Toad allows you to select objects (tables, views, packages etc), and I think now is smart enough to create these in the proper order, if generally, constraint errors do not occur. I know that you can export the DDL file, but could not find an option to create a script?

    Thank you

    Mike

Have you tried the new truck?

You drag your items in the shopping cart and use the deploy. It will generate a series of scripts. They are designed to take into account the order of creation and to preserve your data if you want to include.

Here's a quick glimpse of it
    http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2011/11/introducing-the-SQL-Developer-shopping-cart/

If you want the entire schema, try tools > Database Export.

  • Developer SQL connected to a DB SQL Server (problem with "INSERT an IDENTITY")

I use developer SQL to connect to a DB in SQL Server by using the jTDS jar file.

Problem is that when I try to run the "SET IDENTITY_INSERT < TABLE >;" SQL Developer has told me that he skips the command.
Error message in the console: "SQLPLUS Command ignored: set IDENTITY_INSERT < TABLE > WE.

    I am running:
    Developer SQL v3.2.09 (Build HAND-09: 30 pm)
    JTDS - jtds - 1.2.6.jar
    JAVA jdk1.7.0_05

Any idea why this might be happening?

NOTE: I know that if the 'IDENTITY_INSERT' is already activated, then it could happen, but believe me, it isn't. Because, if I try to run a command "INSERT IN...» ", I get the error that the"INSERT an IDENTITY' is DISABLED for the table.

    Published by: Ali-Star August 29, 2012 11:22

Set identity_insert is a command to SQL Server that is not managed by SQL Developer. You must pass the set command as it is on the SQl Server using the / * sqldev:stmt * /, for example:

    drop table test1;
    -Online moved as test1 table.

    create table test1 (col1 int identity (1,1));
    -Online table TEST1 created.

    Insert into test1 (col1) values (10);
=> Error from line 4 on order:
    -Online insert into test1 (col1) values (10)
-Online error in the command line: 4 column: 0
    => Error report:
-Online SQL error: cannot insert an explicit value for identity in the table 'test1' column when IDENTITY_INSERT is set to OFF.

When I use the sqldev:stmt setting now I can place an order directly to SQL Server:

    / * sqldev:stmt * / set identity_insert test1;
    -Online set IDENTITY_INSERT succeeded.

    Insert into test1 (col1) values (11);
    -Online 1 lines inserted.

Why are you doing this? Once the DDL file is imported and then save the drawing and open simply saved design, no need to generate the DDL and import it every time that you start Modeler data.
On the list of values - forced as this CHECK (Active_Flag IN ('A', 'I')) are imported as constraint check plain and not as a list of values.
There are the more specific elements import of check constraint - they are defined as type database constraint that you select during the import. Accordingly if you import your DOF as Oracle 10 g DDL, then you will get forced correct check in DDL generated for Oracle 10 g and Oracle 11 g. Constraint of evil will be generated for Oracle 9i. You can move the constraint for Oracle 9i (in the check constraint dialog box) or generic if it can be treated as such constraint.

I logged for DOF bad bug.
