  You should check what file you download.

  For example, something like this:

  .pkg is the installer for the SAA (flash memory) so that it can be pushed to clients over SSL connections

  With the PIX and ASA, the number of peers is specified in the license and limited to the number specified in the license (so in support of peers, you must update the license).   There is no real difference at all, it is the same app, same features.
