  • Can I have 2 completely different set ups for FF (different users - visually impaired)

    I've been using FF for several years and love the way I can make the text larger and the size of fonts on the toolbars, among other things. My wife, however, is very limited vision and has been using IE and she can't do it all and she had other problems of IE. I just installed Chrome to check it out and it doesn't seem to be a way to do this either (so much Chrome). There are the 'high contrast' themes, but they didn't do enough, are the wrong colors or cause a lot of problems with some pages. Is there a way I can use 2 completely separate FF, with different toolbars versions, screen fonts, colors for toolbars, sizes of fonts, a way to have 2 completely separate lists of bookmarks and preferences, etc. ? As the computer is shared, it should be able to switch between users and configurations. The ability to configure FF you like is really so far in front of other browsers.

    You can create another folder of Firefox profile for your wife if you both use the same Windows account.

    See also:

    You can add - no.-distance to the command line to open another instance of Firefox with its own profile and run multiple instances of Firefox at the same time.

    Note that you can not open external links (i.e., click on a link to open the browser by default) in a Firefox instance that is started with the - non-commutateur command line to distance.

    You can watch this extension to adjust the font size for the user interface.

    You can use the NoSquint extension to define the size of the font (zoom text/page) and the color of the text on web pages.

  • With XP, with is three different user accounts, possible to download Firefox 4 for a single user and keep Firefox 3 on the other, for a period of learning?

    We are running XP and have 3 different user desktop accounts. We are very excited about the features of Firefox4, but one user a lot less comfortable with changes and does not want to lose the comfort of navigation in 3 until it had a chance to get used to using 4. May take a while...

    Is it possible to download Firefox 4, perhaps to a new location. Or a new user account. And use that as a "teaching tool" while maintaining the 3?

    Or can we move on 4, re-download a version 3 and import previous bookmarks for this user to new 3 download, until we him uncomfortable.

    The answer is probably not. But if there is a creative way to do that, without another available computer, that would be great. Otherwise, improve us and deal with the frustration and whining here... 4 is too good to pass up.

    Ideas?
    Linda

    When you install Firefox 4, choose the custom installation option and change the install location of Firefox. You'll then 2 versions of Firefox are installed.

    As you have different user accounts, each user will have its own Firefox profile (location where are stored bookmarks, passwords, etc.). You should not pass between the different versions of Firefox with the same user profile. For those who want to use Firefox 4, make sure that you use a Firefox shortcut that opens Firefox 4, even for one who wants to stay with Firefox 3, just keep their shortened origin of Firefox and it should open the old version.

  • ACS5: method of different external authentication for each user account

    ACS4 I could specify a different external authentication for each user account. I'm trying to find a way to do the same thing to the ACS 5? When I go under identity in Access Services, I see the system requirement: username I can use to identify the user who logs in, so that I can directly to a source of different identity, but the separate political configuration for each user is very inconvinient and would require hundreds of policies, in our case.

    I was hoping that we can create a kind of attribute for each user. SysAdmin > Configuration > dictionaries > identity > internal users. I created the new attribute called 'Storage of identity' with the enumeration type, which has 4 values: internal, Entrust Token, Token RSA, counts AD and checked the box "add a political Condition." I can then go under each user and select the storage of identity for each user. But now I can't find where I can use under part of identity of an access policy. I can use it under "Group mapping" but that maps to one group and not to an identity store. I need to use it under the identity somehow, but I can't find how.

    Hello Roman,

    The attribute you created will be available when the user is authenticated through internel ID store, so that you cannot use to select the store ID.

    The best way to do this would be to use other attributes to differentiate the identity store.
    Allows you to create a sequence of identity store so that for each user, ACS will try to authenticate by using multiple identity store.

    For example, you can use these:

    Network status

    > End Station filter

    > Device filter

    > Devide filter Ports

    Here you can import filters from a file and it would therefore be more scalable.

    Hope this helps.

  • For each user login different landing pages

    I created an area on my site successfully (in DW CS6) (which takes the user name and password of a database), which works perfectly (including 'logout' and 'restricted page' server behaviors added etc.)

    However, I am puzzled trying to find how to set up for different users can be redirected to different 'allowed zones' depending on what username they enter. That is to say 1 connects and is redirected to pg X and company 2 connects and is redirected to pg Y

    Dreamweaver won't let me specify one page. I tried google, but it make me feel a bit confused with the jargon. As it is not clear when you do your site in dreamweaver (CS6)

    Does anyone know steps to DW and phpMyAdmin which would redirect users based on their user name in a data base.

    My site is here in case you should see: http://www.reese-test2.co.uk/download.php

    Hi Ben, there are 3 users, each with their own home screen

    Added a manual condition whenever is fine, as the majority of our customers 1000 + will be all be redirected to the same 'standard' homepage Its only a select few of our 'special' customers, who will have their own login and the home page (for Advanced clients).

    I tried with the above code to do this, but I don't think I was sticking to the right place as it was a mistake

    On my database (phpMyadmin) I've already implemented 3 columns: company, username & database, example below:

    Most of our clients will get the same username and password to enter the same homepage

    You can do it for a limited number of users;

    First, he must add "society" to the query.

    $LoginRS__query = sprintf ("SELECT company, user name, password AND password OF connection WHERE username = %s is %s",

    Then you need get the "society" based on the name of user and password:

    $LoginRS = mysql_query ($LoginRS__query, $searchDB) or die (mysql_error ());

    $row_rsDetails = mysql_fetch_assoc ($LoginRS);

    $loginFoundUser = mysql_num_rows ($LoginRS);

    And then the last piece of php code should look like below:

    Only 3 companies in the database to GET their 'dedicated page' - all the others will go to normal.php if they provide the name of user and password correct.

    If (isset($_SESSION['PrevUrl']) & false) {}

    $MM_redirectLoginSuccess = $_SESSION ["PrevUrl"];

    }

    $company = $row_rsDetails ['company'];

    If ($company == 'standard') {}

    Header ("Location: standard.php");

    }

    Else if ($company == 'Advanced') {}

    Header ("Location: advanced.php");

    }

    Else if ($company == 'super') {}

    Header ("Location: super.php");

    }

    ElseIf ($company! = 'standard' | $company! = 'Advanced' | $company! = 'super') {}

    Header ("Location: normal.php");

    }

    }

    else {}

    Header ("Location:".) $MM_redirectLoginFailed);

    }

    }

  • Rules for software in CS6 sharing between different users?

    Hello Adobe,

    I work for a company in Sweden. We plan on buying 3 copies of the standard design CS6.

    Two people are going to use all the features of this set. Thus, two copies are only going to be installed on single computers and used by two people.

    However, when it comes to the third copy of the design standard, an employee is interested with only illustrator, another one wants to only use photoshop, while a third one wants to only use indesign.

    What are the rules for software here?

    1. are we as customers allowed to divide exemplary creation and standard design on three different computers and users as long as the utlize only users separate software within this box grouped? IE use photoshop, illustrator use and one only use indesign.

    2. If the case above is not allowed, it could if it didn't ensure that the splitting of a single copy between two different users?

    I looked in your FAQ support you were directly to the PDF EULA for more details. I looked through these but I don't really understand some of the language in there. Please clarify this situation Adobe.

    / Christian

    each single user license is intended for use by a single person and cannot be divided the way you plan.

  • Effective way to create an online help for different users

    Hello

    I use RH6 (RoboHelp HTML) on Windows XP to create WebHelp. I need to create an online help for 3 different users, for example, student, teacher and principal. Some functions of the software are available based on the permissions assigned to users. So, I developed a main project file ("All.xpj") that contains all the topics. Then I create a new project for each type of user and import only the topics that relate to the user. It is the most effective way? I didn't have to create 3 or 4 conditional parameters... because I would have to re - create the table of contents, the Index, and the Glossary for each project. It is the most effective way to use RH6 for my needs?

    Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
    FMnRH

    Conditional compilation marking would go like this:
    1 mark the topics specific to the user as a 'Student', 'Teacher' or 'Major', as the case may be.
    2 leave unidentified all subjects that are common to all.
    3. Enter the three configurations different single source (SSL):
    -L' SSL must have the term generation student NOT a teacher AND NOT Principal.
    -L' SSL must have the term generation NOT a student teacher AND NOT Principal.
    -The main SSL should have the term generation NOT student AND NON-teaching.
    All unmarked topics will appear in the output.
    4. the table of contents can be trickier; It depends on your structure. Tag user specifi c-books in the table of contents as a student, teacher or Director. Let the unidentified current material. Do the absolute minimum marking here that you can get away with and try to keep the simple tags and high level. It is too easy to lose them in a table of contents complex. The thing to remember here is that if a topic is not in the output, it will be automatically excluded from the table of contents. This means that if you have marked a topic as a teacher, he will not be displayed in the table of contents of the student, even if you do not expressly exclude the table of contents entry.
    5. as a result of the reasoning in number 4 above, the index should take care of itself, and I think that the glossary will be, too, although I have not played with glossaries a lot.

    -----------------------

    I think you have the right idea on how to perform the merge. I don't have access to HR right now to check.

    If all three projects have the same definitions in the glossary, put them in the common project of the child, not duplicate them in the user-specific projects.

    I use 1280 * 1024 and kids (different users) 800 * 600.  If I connect after that my children do some sufring using their user ID, my icons get all dirtied upward and not instead what they used to be in front of my connected children.  The icons apprear on the half top of the screen leaving the bottom of half empty.  Some of the icons move to another location.  It's a really nasty situation like I have to adjust my icons to each time my connection to children.

    All the drivers are OK, I have a monitor de LCD Samsung SyncMaster 920N, loading of all Vista Ultimate updates.

    I can't seem to find a way to ensure that my icons don't get screwed up.  Any suggestions?

    There is nothing built in Vista that can do what you want.  Here are some possible solutions:

    1. install Windows SteadyState, which can undo changes made to the computer by other users.

    2 install the software screen resolution of CNet Download.com.

    If Yes, is this account that is also used for system calls in workflows (execute commands, for example)?

    According to vCenter Orchestrator documentation, to run and use Orchestrator, you must use a local system account for the computer on which is installed Orchestrator.

  • I want to share address books between different users on the same PC

    Hello
    We have a PC with two different users, but there is only one email address shared between them. We have a copy installed Thunderbird one of each user and a user has multiple accounts for privacy reasons. It would be really useful to have a shared common address book to access addresses of. Is this possible?

    Cheers, Marcus

    Marcus,
    It's really simple comes to mind, but here are two ideas to consider, depending on how often Exchange address book:
    (1) if the shared e-mail address is gmail, each user can then install the add-on gContactSync and let Google have the master copy. That would give each of you frequent clocks to the same address book.
    (2) easy, but not automatic approach would be for a user to be responsible for changes and periodically (daily, weekly,...) export the address book to a ldif file. The other user could then import the address book on behalf of TB.
