  Running Vista basic 32, I've been running MSE for some time now and only a few hiccups.  But now I need to open some ports in the firewall, and I can't seem to him.  It gives me an error similar to others I've seen here for Windows Defender; service will not start, the service does not exist..., etc..    I know that the firewall is still running (it keeps blocking of programs "authorized"), although Security Center said that it is not on.  So, how can I get around this to make adjustments to Windows Firewall?

  (Note I recently installed DivX player / converter / movies.. .is this the cause?)

  Then... on desktop... .double click on Mozilla... .loads ok
  Open a new tab..it loads Bing! & I hate it!

  Ive tried;

  1.Tools - options - addons - extensions & plugins - cant see anything there?
  2. On the small address bar (top right) which allows search engines to be managed - all cleared down except google & yahoo
  3. Tools - tab mix plus options - New Tabs - Load on new tabs set to Home Page (doesnt let me change it - greyed out url (conduit.com - see 5 below)
  4. Tools - tab mix plus options - New Tabs - Load on new tabs set to new tab Page - displays the url below (5) but if I try to edit it reverts back every time
  5. If I enter "about:config" & then "browser.newtab.url" in the URL bar I get

  Can anyone help, I inadvertently changed the BIOS settings, and now I can't get the CD player to boot the pc back to the default settings, Windows xp seems to work ok as is the cd player.

  Use the F2 key to enter the BIOS settings and change the order of boot devices. This option is under the STARTUP tab. Otherwise, you can insert the recovery CD when the unit is turned OFF. Turn it on and immediately press the C button. keep it down for a few seconds and unit is forced from the CD/DVD drive.

  I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P850 and recently met with a gambling problem which required me to change the graphics settings in my BIOS from 64 MB to 128 MB.

  I was able to access my BIOS on my windows 8.1 operating system but when I'm on my BIOS, I can't find where to access the chipsets and change the graphics settings. I looked at all long and hard day for a solution and haven't found one that relate to my BIOS (version 6.70). It would be very appreciated for any help you can offer.

  As far as I know these parameters do not exist and if the laptop has shared memory it runs automatically.
  In the past, that Toshiba has never offered these options in the BIOS, and so far nothing has changed.
