Difficulty Fcusing/take photos

Recently, my EOS Rebel T3i takes more time to take pictures than before 2 years when it was new. It takes more time to concentrate and eventually cannot take the picture. It's frustrating to say the list. This happens when it is on auto focus.

Is there a way to reset the device to its factory/original settings?

Thank you.

Kenorad

There is a way to reset to factory settings... but in general, which has little or nothing to do with the amount of time, it takes the camera to focus.

The time to focus in large part depends on the amount of light available on your topic... also the amount of 'contrast' to your subject (topics with complex structure or models are easier to focus on then Plains surfaces (e.g. the sky... or ordinary white wall would be an example of a low contrast subject.))

Also... the amount of light that collects the lens is based on the lowest possible focal ratio for that lens.  If you are using a kit lens (EF-S 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 lens) then your report f / d is f/3.5 at the end of 18 mm... and f/5.6 at the 55 mm end.)  If you were to use... well... the EF 50 mm f/1.8 or f/1.4 and goal then it would collect SIGNIFICANTLY more light (the f/1.4 lens collects 16 times more light than a kit lens at the focal length 50 mm... it's a HUGE difference.)

Finally... you force the camera to use a specific focal point or you use a point of attention.  The central point can usually store of faster development.  On your T3i, the central point is the only "type cross" focus.  All other points are points of the unique axis.

  • DSLR-A380 will not take photo and resets all settings

My DSLR-A380 has had this problem under and turned off for a while now, but now it seems finally kaput. The camera turns on good and works as normal, except that the pictures will not save. When the trigger is depressed, it looks like he took the picture, the FVO screen goes black as if previewing the image loading, but then it resets and there is no saved photo. I had several people try to take photos and in different scenes/light, and it's the same problem. For a while, this seemed to happen randomly whenever I turned on the device. Sometimes it would work. Sometimes not. Now, it seems to be permanent. I tried to change all of the possible settings, but the given parameters to zero when I take a picture, including the aperture, shutter speed and ISO. The same problem occurs with Auto, manual or any other scene/priority setting.

Battery is fully charged. Memory card room, is released and inserted correctly. The only reason I can think is that I dropped the camera on the concrete on a year and a half. He fell from lens face down. But I use the camera since then. It's only this week that it is dead.

The camera needs to be repaired or replaced? I wouldn't replace the camera if there is a small patch.

Strange things happen when the rechargeable batteries are aging. The fact to keep settings to reset is the most significant symptom, and that being the case, I don't think that there is more need to do a "hard reset." In fact, he wouldn't have enough 'juice' to format a new card.

  • When taken in Webcam, it is recognized but will not take photo

I buy a webcam for my pc. When I plug it to the PC it recognizes, but it won't take a picture. I try to restart my pc and it still does the same thing. I buy, so I can use it to communcate with my daughter and see my little girl who lives in new jersey.

If it comes with an installation cd, and then install the drivers for the webcam from the installation cd.

most cd installers will be autorun when inserted in the cd/dvd players.

If prompted, select your webcam model from the list and follow the additional installation instructions.

After installation of the webcam driver, click the webcam shortcut to change the settings so that you can now create or take photos/videos.

  • Take photos for the proportions of the video?

    Hello

I want to take photos that will be put in a video. Photographers here have any advice on getting correct photos according to the proportions of the video?

Tell him that the video aspect ration will be 957 x 500. How can I keep the rule of thirds correct from my objective point of view?

    Hope I'm making sense.

    Hi AnotherMe,

Behind closed doors, you will most likely work by your own eyes. You can practice by placing a paper large format or a billboard with a rectangle drawn on it, in the desired proportions (3:4, 16:9, etc.). Then, look through the viewfinder, fill the frame with your rectangle and note where are the break lines. With ptactics, you will be able to view the work area.

Once you get back in Lightroom, you can make a culture defined (if one does not already exist) and apply to your images to create the final image in the desired size.

  • camera not focus or take photos

I had my camera for 2 years and had no problems.  Now it will not focus correctly when you use the LCD screen.  He also says that it is busy when I try to take a picture. Help! It will take pictures when I use the viewfinder.

If the unit is in "One Shot" mode (it is by default, mode), then it also uses what is called the "Update priority".  This means that there _must_ confirm that he was able to reach the front focus it takes a picture.

The other mode is called "AI Servo" who uses what is called the "release priority".  In this mode, the camera _will_ take a photo when you press the shutter button completely even if she was not able to focus (usually, this is not desired behavior, unless you know how to watch so he could confirm the update, but the sports photographers like this mode.)

There is a mode of development called 'AI Focus' - it is not really a new way... that really means he'll try to evalutate if a subject is moving or not and then try to use the mode "One Shot" mode or "AI Servo" depending on whether the subject was stationary or moving.

ALSO... the camera will only attempt to auto-focus is the switch AF/MF on your lens is in the position of the AF (autofocus).  If you switch to MF (focus manual), then the camera must take a picture immediately (even if she is not centered).

Anyway... the camera can struggle to focus the light is low or if the topic lack of contrast (for example if you just point the camera on a clear blue sky, then he will really struggle focus - even a starry sky is a problem because the individual stars are simply not big enough and bright enough.)

If your camera is having a problem AND you take a picture in low light or a topic which has no contrast (or both) then this isn't really a problem with the camera (even a perfect work machine would have problems in these situations).

It could be useful that we could eliminate the possibility that the reason that the unit is struggling to focus is due to inadequate lighting.

Can you take the camera one day sunny nice birght and try to focus on a subject well lit?  This would allow you to confirm or rule out the possibility that lighting is to blame.

It is also possible that the lens is a problem.  What lens you use and you have more than one goal?

If you have the standard "kit" lens that usually comes with a T3, it should be a lens EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II.  This lens is _not_ allow "full time" in manual focus.  This means that you should not try to focus of the lens, if the lens is in mode "AF".  Put the lens mode "MF".  Turn the ring on the front of the lens all the way one way (any way) until you have executed the update completely 'out' or ' bottom'.   Then switch the focus mode switch to "AF".  Pointing the camera at a subject and try to focus.  You * must * hear engines focus on the goal, as he tries to concentrate.  If you do not hear the engines of development, it could indicate a problem with the lens.   If, by chance, you get to possess either a lens 'USM' or the new 'STM' goal, these lenses have development engines that are extremely silent (espeically the 'STM' lenses) so you would have probably not heard the goal point.  But the version 'STM' of the lens EF-S 18-55mm lens is extremely new and as it seems that your unit is a few years old, you probably do not have the "VTS" version

Usually if the camera or lens has malfunctioned, then the camera would display an error code.  It doesn't seem like it displays a code, which makes me suspect this is not the same as take a picture because it cannot lock the focus (but the focus mechanism correctly tries to focus).   That is why I am wonderng if the reason why it does not lock focus is due to insufficient light or due to an issue with insufficient contrast.

  • Camera will not take photos or make videos.

    I use the LX-7000 LifeCam, and it will not just take pictures or start recording a video. For photos of troubleshooting specific;

I can't capture photos, or I can't see the video.

    Check the following:

    • Audio and video settings are properly adjusted. For more information, see audio and video settings.
    • Closed all other programs that may be using the LifeCam. (You don't have to close your instant messaging for the LifeCam program work.)
    • Your LifeCam lens is not covered or blocked and that the LifeCam has enough lighting.
    • Try to disconnect and reconnect the LifeCam.
    • Try to disconnect other unused USB devices.
    • Try using a different USB port on the computer. Connect to a USB 2.0 port, if you can.
    • If you use a USB hub, try unplugging the hub and rather the LifeCam directly on your computer.

-I just checked and made sure everything on that list is done but it still won't let me click the photo icon, which also indicates that I have to click to take a picture. What could be wrong?

    Hi GabeisHungry,

You can try the following steps and check if it helps.

Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the life Cam.

    1. click on Start

2 type devmgmt.msc in start search and press ENTER.

    3. in Device Manager , look for the device for life cam right click top and select the Uninstalloption.

    4. restart the computer, the life cam plug-in and verification.

You can try to update the latest drivers by following the link:

  • 32-bit and 64-bit Vista operating system installed, trying to get the webcam to take photo

I have a HP Webcam who settled in the factory on my pc laptop pavilion dv3510nr. I was able to take pictures with her when I'm on Facebook, but of course I can't understand yet how to do anything else with it at all outside of Facebook. I read something that said I had to download the latest version of Quickplay, but when I entered the information for my computer, Quickplay appears. I finally found something called YouCam and downloaded that. I downloaded the 64 bit version. I did it for the version 32 - bit still.

I want to know if I need to keep download two sets of everything. I have 64-bit Internet Explorer available, but usually use 32-bit because not all websites have upgraded to 64 - bit yet. I'm just a little confused, I guess. I don't know when to download what version of bits. Can you help me?

    Luanne

you don't have to download 2 sets of drivers. If you have a 64-bit operating system, then download the 64-bit drivers. 32-bit operating system you only need 32-bit drivers. Some 32-bit drivers will work for 64-bit os.

  • How to take photos of the moon with a rebel T5

I had my camera for a very short period of time. I want to take some pictures of the Moon and I was wondering what I should use the settings.

You will not see stars if the Moon is correctly exposed. (Remember, it was one of the 'clues' to the moon landings "rigged". The Moon is much brighter than stars and requires much less exposure.

Note that in the example above, he used HDR, in this case, it is essentially a double exposure.

  • Should what mode I use with canon 7 d to take photos of the whales form a boat.

I have a canon 7 d, leaving for Hawaii on weekends, if I use the TV and 1/500 to take pictures of whales on a sunny day will be hardening let in too much light.  My lenses are f2.8 17-50mm lens

Well, let me start by wishing you the best chance to actually see more & clog if all goes well if that's the goal you have. From the sound of it, you are unsure about using the TV, but it's OK because he can do the job, but you may need to try several different shutter speeds to hit the best setting for lighting & conditions (stability of the boat). I shoot a lot of action and have used a 7 d for this and I am a diver, so I've been on many a boat while plowing through the waves, then, here are my recommendations. Set the AI SERVO AF, set the player to shoot in mode 'spray & prey' (at least 5 images/s) & shoot short bursts when appropriate.

TEST your settings while on the way to the observation area and check that the camera uses the opening with your Tv setting. If it's between 6 f & f 11 & exhibitions look decent, you're close enough to try it in action. (use the Exposure Compensation needed for MINOR adjustments, but if they need a major change use different settings (shutter speed).) The key to success will be to use an ISO shutter speed AND keeps you in the 6 F to F 11 range, BUT you don't have to use shutter speeds slower while on a moving ship. Water as snow can deceive the meteringso the LCD light control & adjust as necessary but higher shutter speeds are notably better than most with the fact that everything will move lower you.

CAVEAT. your camera & lens DO NOT like salty water or spray, so be very careful in choosing when it get up to shoot.
