Digital ID is missing in Windows Live Mail (7)

on my Toshiba Satellite laptop, now whenever I try to send an email it tells me it will not be encrypted and I do not have a digital ID for me or for them. PS I am not very computer. At first my printer HP Photosmart C6380 all-in-one wireless wouldn't work so I stupidly started "re-scheduling" my laptop without realizing it. Now it seems messed up so maybe I should consider in fixed. I can not open restore, add printer, recovery or many other things.

  • Windows Live Mail - import contacts very slow

Import contacts Windows Live Mail is very very ssssloooooooooowwwww.

I am importing approximately 2300 contacts from a CSV file created using the WLM on the same computer export function, until I had to do a complete Windows re - install. The export function created the file quickly enough. Importation is happening now for 15 hours and has just exceeded 2000 contacts so I guess there are still a few hours or more.

It's pretty extreme and ridiculous! Am I doing something wrong or missed something? In the previous mail clients such as Outlook Express and Outlook, this task took a few seconds.  It looks like a huge not backward, even a computer in the era of steam dispose of such a simple and banal mission without imposing its only megabytes of ram.

  • XP: Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail - Emails have disappeared

My boss had some problems a few months where a piece of his e-mails have been deleted.  Like a year or two of a value.  He had a ton of emails in their Inbox.  Just recently he started having the same e-mail repeatedly.  I decided to download windows live mail and install it on his computer.  It is running XP.

I installed live mail.  He acknowledged the current e-mail account, he is using Outlook Express (POP3).  However, there is only the latest e-mail messages.  So, I went to windows live mail and click on file - import - and I imported Outlook Express 6.  He asked me what files and I clicked on the button that says it all.

He went through the process and declared finished.  It was supposed to put the files in the storage folder.  I check the records of storage and there is nothing in the Inbox sent items folder has its old emails in them.  I looked around, in the other Inbox for the normal email account there and there is nothing more.

I'm going to switch back to outlook express and its Inbox has no emails as well.  I'm like ooohhhh _.  If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

I don't know if it compacted emails in outlook express.

    Thanks in advance - James

For now, let's deal with Outlook Express.

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Why mail disappears:
    http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgone

    About file Corruption:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/IE/community/columns/filecorruption.mspx

    Recovery methods:

If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

  • Microsoft Exchange Server configured in Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail

    Hello.
We just got a new laptop and I am trying to set up my e-mail account, as it was on my old.  For work purposes, I use the Microsoft Exchange Server because my work has us using OWA.  This way I can sync with my home outlook client and then synchronize with my portable devices.

The new has Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail.  As regular mail doesn't seem to have all the updated proxy in place, I tried on Live Mail.
I can't get set up on one or the other.

    Am I missing something?

So, I buy a laptop for $800, which includes the $150 for microsoft office home for students and teachers only to have to go and buy an Outlook for an additional amount of $100.
At least I'm taking a class 3 credit Post-grad at the present time through University and I have a .edu email address there.

  • Problems sending mail in Windows Live Mail (and Windows Mail)

    De :  MarkJ

    Hello

I had a go at some of the solutions I've seen for this problem but have had no luck yet, I wonder if Miss me something?

So, I can receive emails without problem (in Windows Live Mail and Windows Mail), but don't have had no success sending (although I can always send mails when I access my account online).

The fixes I've tried so far are:

-through my account settings and to ensure that they are as indicated by my email provider (I have an ntlworld account). IE POP3 and SMTP settings must be correct.

-then I tried to check the box "my server requires authentication" (did not work)
    - then I tried completely disabling my firewall/anti-anti-virus/e-mail protection (ZoneAlarm) who also worked
    - then I tried to install an update of sorts for Windows Mail (not Live Mail) (found on a Board communities, sorry can't remember which, but it was an official update from microsoft)... and it does not work
-Finally, I tried to install Windows Live Mail... and Yes you guessed it, that does not work either (I also checked the settings etc.)

....... I wonder why things have to be so difficult?

Can someone please tell me where I'm wrong!

This is the error message I get:

The connection to the server has failed.

    Subject 'Test '.
    Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC0E
    Protocol: SMTP
    Port: 25
    Secure (SSL): No.
    Socket error: 10060

    Thank you very much

    De : Gary van

To solve the problem of sending (at home) once for all, you need to replace the Server SMTP from Orange to smtp.ntlworld.com. I don't know, what if Orange will allow you to keep your return address of NTL, when sending to Windows Mail. It's worth a try.

  • Unable to save attachments in Windows Live Mail

First of all, I saw this question raises a number of times on this and other sites to support, but I've yet to see it resolved. I'm running a fully corrected and updated current version of Windows Vista SP2 and you have installed Windows Live Mail in my default e-mail Manager. In short, I'm only able to download attachments of any kind by drag-and - drop on my desktop - all usual ways have no effect, or produce a generic error message.

Upon receipt of an email with parts attachments of any type in any amount:

    1. Double-click an attachment icon - no effect
    2. Right click, don't choose 'Open' - no effect
    3. Right click, choose 'Print' - successfully print paper or .pdf [my default printer]
    4. Right-click, choose "save under"-"save attachment as" command prompt opens. When you click 'Save' (on the desktop for these examples), prompt disappears, and no file is saved on the desktop.
    5. Right click, choose 'Save everything' - 'Save attachments' command prompt opens. When you click on "Save", the error message if there is a registration error, one or more of the attachments. Please check your free disk space and try again. Note: The available disk space is not a problem on this machine.
    6. Drag / drop the attachment of the WLM message on my desk - work successfully.

    Solutions already attempted:

    1. Delete all temporary files of Internet Explorer 9 [any effect]
    2. In IE9 security options, ensuring"download file"is "activated". [any effect]
    3. In IE9 security options, disable the "Protected Mode" [any effect]
    4. After trying the previous two solutions, change the security zone in Windows Live Mail (Options--> Security--> Security tab Options) for the "Internet Zone" rather that "sensitive sites"area [any effect]
    5. In Windows Live Mail, ensure that "do not allow the opening or saving attachments that could contain a virus" box is unchecked [any effect]
    6. Ensure all analyzes e-mail is disabled by my anti-virus (Avast software! Free antivirus 6.0.1367). Note: No product AVG, Norton or MacAfee have already been installed on this machine, I understand that their presence (current or former) may contribute to this problem
    7. Use ProceXP to display all the assets of .dll files used by Windows Live Mail to make sure that nothing unusual is running. Nothing unusual, although wlmail.exe accesses the Avast! AV .dll 'snxhk.dll '. I don't know if this has an effect.
    8. Run the System File Checker tool [no problem found, no effect].

While this problem has a workaround solution, is somewhat a disadvantage and slightly confusing (why would 'print' and drag-and - drop works, but nothing else?). I hope that I haven't missed the solution somewhere and that, otherwise, it can be resolved for the good of someone fall on this issue. Thanks in advance.
