Try to connect to your account online via mail.live.com/
If you are not able to connect to your account due to password error, you may need to reset your password. You can do it by following the guidelines listed on the following link:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Live/account-reset-password-forgot-FAQ

If you are able to login to your online account, but not through Windows Live Mail, you can try to enter the password manually instead of using auto-fill and then see if that helps to to connect. To do this, you can follow the steps below:
1 open your Windows Live Mail application and right-click on the name of your account.
2. go to the control panel 'Accounts' and select 'properties '.
3. in the window that appears, go to the tab "servers".
4. remove in the box besides "Password" and uncheck the "Remember password".
5. now try to connect to your account by entering your password manually.
The following link may be useful:
Note: the following link is a third party site. It is recommended to update your security software carefully before clicking on the link.

2. go to the "Files" pane and select "Properties".
3. go to the "Servers" tab and select "my server requires authentication".

4. now, click on 'Settings' and enter your complete e-mail address and password.
5. then go to the "Advanced" tab and change the port to 587.
6. close the application, wait a few minutes and then re-launch it. Now, see if your problem is resolved.

  • How to recover contacts from Windows live mail email messages from the hard drive.

I was download my messages to e-mail AT and T through Windows live mail (Pop3). My computer has a hardware problem and stopped working.

However, the hard drive is fine and all the data is safe. I now have a new computer. How can I transfer old computer to the new e-mail and messages

Windows live mail in the new computer can actuall import the old e-mail messages and contacts.

Plug the old drive to the new computer.

You may need to show hidden files to see the records of WLMail.

    olddrive:\Users\old Live Mail

Drag and drop messages into an open folder of WLMail.

If you have been given a copy of messages on the AT & T server you have duplicates.

  • I just installed a new drive faster. How can I get windows live mail from the old drive to the new drive

Where are the files stored WindowsLiveMail?  Under what article directory.  I have "tons" of e-mail messages stored on the old disk and need to move them to the new drive faster.  How can I do?

The location of the store folder, which contains all the messages, calendars and the account settings, is configurable by the user. The default location is
    C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail

If the installer of WLMail is a record storage in the default location, it normally acknowledge and take into use if. The only user that would be required should reinstate saved passwords. If this is to succeed, the old and new installations of WLMail normally must be exactly the same construction. The storage location must be in place in the default location on the new drive before installing WLMail. Also, the current user must be the owner of the record store to its new location.

If the old drive is installed on the same computer as the new facility in WLMail, you can point the Import Wizard to import messages to the old folder of the store. They will find under storage folders into imported folders.

  • Windows Live Mail 2010 fixed background image missing (not even the Red Cross)

Hi, my client runs Windows Live Mail on Vista. I was about to set up remote a stationary to his e-mail account. When she opens the new window message, stationary is visible with images. The problem appears when she sends an email - no visible images, without attachments, no red cross. When I look in the source code for mail

has no background style, located on the stationary file. I checked all (I assume) possibilities: HTML settings include image - checked, the security settings - very well. All solutions on the web seems to refer to the Red Cross - at the opposite image. I can't find any similar to mine. SA is also difficult because there is hundreds kilometers between me and his computer. Thanks in advance or any help.

  • Problem importing files Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail in Windows 7__

My new computer has Windows 7 and, of course, Windows Live Mail.  My old computer has Windows XP and Outlook Express.  I copied my file OE that contains all my USB key *.dbx files.  On the file menu of WLM, I then selected "Import Messages" and then indicated the location of my OE files on the USB key.  When I clicked to import the files, a small window with a green status bar that showed all the imported files.  I then clicked on "Finish."  My problem is even if the import seems to be successful I don't think the imported files or folders in Live Mail.  I tried twice with the same results.  Did I miss a step?  My just OE files seem to have not gotten in my Windows Live Mail program.

Look in the imported folders under storage folders. If you do not see the storage files, in the Menu bar: view | Page layout | The folders pane. Check: View the storage folders.

Missing Menu bar? Click the menu button to the left of the help button and activate the menu bar.

If still no joy, copy the database messages OE of the USB on the desktop and try to import from there.

Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For messages:

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

Open the Contacts list in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.
