Dimensions of building Essbase

Hi experts,

I am developing a small application with usings Essbase-Essbase Studio 11, I create data sources, create the minischema and metadata with a hierarchy of measurement and 2 hierarchy model, one for the TIME (YEAR-> TRIM-> MONTHS) and another for REPORT (REGION-> CIUDAD->->-> RAZÓN SOCIAL DIVISION COMUNA).

Now the problem is when I want to deploy the cube on the Regional service Console, only my TIME hierarchy has complete data, my hierarchy of REPORT blank stares, and I don't know why, because I change the properties in Essbase model for loading data as a XOLAP model, and my REPORT hierarchy was qualify multiple hierarchies.

My Application in the Regional service Console has an Agregate storage medium.

I hope you can help me.

I do this, but when deploy is done Essbase rejects all data

    Hello

I'm new to essbase applications and I'm trying to load members to a dimension of products created in an essbase block storage application, using the 11.1.2.1 version but I get the error message

------Members TotalProducts not found in the database
    TotalProducts, FinisUne, Prod1

------Members TotalProducts not found in the database
    TotalProducts, FinisUne, Prod2

Here are the steps I am following

-Created a simple file to load the dimension as members

    TotalProducts, FinisUne, Prod1
    TotalProducts, FinisUne, Prod2
    TotalProducts, produitsb, Prod3
    TotalProducts, produitsb, Prod4

-Open the Regional service console and navigate to the data preparation Editor
    -Select the build Dimension file
-Set the properties of data source as the comma (source file is saved as CSV)
-Size of configuration settings, select the products dimension and use generation reference
    -Associate the outline
-Field properties, select each field and select the dimension products add generation number

I confirm that I can see generations added as field headers, such as Gen2Products, Gen3Products, Gen4Products and I can validate the rule successfully

Save the file, right-click on the database, load the data, select file and rule file but I get the error below and no members not added

------Members TotalProducts not found in the database
    TotalProducts, FinisUne, Prod1

------Members TotalProducts not found in the database
    TotalProducts, FinisUne, Prod2

    any suggestions, thanks in advance

  • HOW TO LOAD DIMENSIONS / MEMBERS IN ESSBASE ASO REQUEST

    Hello

We are running Oracle EPM 11.1.2.4 and created with success the planning application help EPMA workspace, it is necessary to create a reporting application. We have created a new application of ePMA workspace as essbase ASO and have dimensions of base construction and members of epma itself, the need is to have the same dimensions / members in the application (planning and ASO). My question is:

How to bulk load dimensions / workspace members in Essbae ASO using EPMA / EAS?

    Thank you

    Concerning

    Shahrukh

You must use the same method to load the members that you already use in EPMA, if it's a pure Essbase applications and metadata should be loaded for EPMA and not through the Regional service.

If you already have applications of EPMA, then you would use the same method.

  • Dimensions of building using rule files

    Hi team,

I have EMP 11.1.2.2 and I build the dimension of accounts using the rules file. I use ESSCMD command INCBUILDDIM to build the size of the data file. Whenever I build the old military dimension is removed when I add new members of the dimension. Is it possible to add members without deleting existing members while strengthening the dimension using rule files?

    Thanks for your help.

There is an option in Dimension build settings in the file rules - "Merge" or "Delete without precision.  If you do not want to remove existing members, you must select "merge".

  • Dimension to build using the SQL table and process to populate the SQL table

I have a dimension in a cube that is manually* built by one of our power users. Now, I have to get all the information of members of this dimension in a SQL table (example: with columns... Level0, level0property, level1, level1property etc...) to use this table in the STUDIO for the responsibility of the Member.

Is there any easy process to do this? Currently I am building each line manually in the SQL table and there are 1100 + members in that manually built dimension. Please advice.

  • creation of planning using dimensions in epma essbase application

    Hi guys,.

I already create an empty application in planning using epma. I have load the essbase application in the console of shared services and I can see the essbase application in epma. My problem is how can I use the essbase application to load dimension in planning?

Does anyone have any ideas? Any response is highly appreciated

    Thank you
    Hanson

    Hi Hanson,

One Option would be to be extracted the essbase outline in the text (preferably in Parent child format) through outline Extractor (available on internet) format and then use this file extracts to create the dimension of epma and then load in the planning application.

  • Hyperion Planning Dimension building techniques

    Hello

I am currently working on Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.1.

I am interested to know the size of construction planning.

    1. What size technical construction available for Hyperion Planning 11 other than DRM, FDM and technical manual?

    2. I read in a blog this load utility contour doesnot work with Hyperion 11 x for dimesion building and "Hyperion Dimesion Library" is available in its place. Is this true?

But we use the contour load utility to load exchange rates in our 11 version application.

    3. I worked on the ODI 10 g and 11 g with Hyperion 9 x

Hyperion provides 11 compatible x in dimensions of building using ODI from scratch and also adding members to an existing hierarchy according to the evolution of the business?

    Thank you!!

Methods - outlineload utility, ODI, Interface Tables, file of ADS.

the outlineload utility is for Classic applications for metadata loading.

    Yes, ODI is compatible.

  • What is the difference between EPMA and Essbase Studio

If the two are not used to design applications?

And a really need Essbase Studio?
What is the difference between EPMA and Essbase Studio

^ ^ ^ It's a little confusing, isn't? As far as I understand the role of EPMA, it is a way to share dimensions and common data between several products Oracle EMP including Planning, Essbase and HFM. In fact, I don't know if other products live in EPMA. What is EPMA not have is a great way to supply or manipulate the dimension and fact tables (or files). Oh, there are tables of the interface, but you will write the code/use the utility of dimension EPMA to load dimensions. I must say that I never tried to load through EPMA data so that someone else will have to pronounce on it. Once the dimensions are built, you can deploy Essbase (and other products) of common and specific to the database dimensions.

Studio is the tool you will use to go against a data warehouse, or something terribly close a data warehouse to build Essbase databases. Just for Essbase - HFM, planning, etc. are not the targets of the Studio release.

What gets confusion / intriguing, is that when EPMA deploy Essbase apps, it uses Studio under the covers to do. So the interesting implementations where people use Studio (which is much more flexible than EPMA because it is a development tool as opposed to a dimension/data management application) to read the tables, EPMA interface (and as far as I know, the EPMA base tables) and create Essbase applications like that.

If you think that there is overlap, I agree with you, but you can see that they are not the same.

And a really need Essbase Studio?

^ ^ ^ Do not use Studio to build Essbase databases. You can go hog wild in EAS with loading SQL rules if you want, even if at some point it will be probably easier and simpler to build in the Studio. Although the Studio has been mentioned as the replacement of EAS for awhile, I suspect the effort required to build a database in Studio will keep around for quite a while EAS or Studio Lite will be out. There is a lot to say (sometimes) for the incredible flexibility EAS/Essbase-Studio requires a more methodical approach and EPMA has a very formal set of standards and methods.

Phew, I'm sorry, I wrote a book on this subject and I bet you get a lot of differences of opinion on that.

If you are interested in the Studio, you could do well to take a copy of 'Look smarter than you are with Oracle Essbase Studio 11' of Glenn Schwartzberg. I don't get a penny from the sale while I was among the writers of copy (Hey, I got a mention in the acknowledgements). It's a good book and an excellent introduction to the tool.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE OF DIFFERENTIALS BUILT DIMENSION AND BUILD TIME DIMENSIONS

    THANKS IN ADVANCE

    Published by: user12924805 on June 11, 2010 12:13

Strengthening of the extra dimension is delayed restructuring dimension generation process. Particularly in situations where you want to build an overview of multiple data sources and save time by delaying restructuring until after all the files have been processed. When we used to create one or more dimensions of a data file, without restructuring of the database, we use incremental build of dimension.

  • Add the uda in essbase cube

    Hello

I the customer dimension in my essbase cube, members of level 0 in the 'customer' dimension we UDA entrust.

Add new customers for each month and also the new UDA add for some exsisting customers.

We update this dimension of 'customer' of the xls file using the rules file.

for some members, I would like to add only existing accidental with UDA of the UDA.

someone Please helpme in this issue.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Prabhakar.

    Hello! Prabhakar,

By default, Essbase does not refresh UDAs when you generate a dimension using the rules file.
    But if you want to:

    (1) add a UDA Member, select allow property changes in the dimension build parameters dialog box.
    (2) replace the ADU, select Allow changes of ownership and UDAs was updated in the build settings dialog box dimension.

These members for which you want to add only UDA with accidental already existing UDA, if possible make another file and select the option to charge accordingly.

    I hope this helps.

  • Essbase outline for analytics Oracle OBIEE

    Hello
I have a situation where I have to use the OBIEE for Essbase outline. I use 9.3.1 and I need to extract the measures dimension of contour Essbase (BSO) that I can use to build a same dimension on OBIEE. I need to know what tool I can use for this purpose. I have two things in my mind, or I used the extractor contour or ODI. Please let me know the right tool for this situation or how I can do this.

    Thank you
    T.Khan

an easier way might be maintained by Applied Olap contour extraction tool you can use odi to extract the desired data. It is a free tool and works really well. You can run it in batch mode and can extract one dimension or all dimensions in multiple formats. Their product regulr Dodeca is really good as well.

  • Changing a dimension of stored to ASO dynamics will change my Calc MDX results?

    Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays!

Changing a dimension of stored to ASO dynamics will change my Calc MDX results?

Has anyone turn their dimensions of dynamic Stored?  What are the problems that you have experienced?

Thank you for the early Christmas present (with answers).

As suggested by the other responses, it depends in part why you change.

As Philippe said, the potential problem is calculation order. Stored dimensions are always grouped before the member formulas / dynamic dimensions.

If you do everything is change a dimension currently stored is dynamic (i.e. you don't change consolidation properties, or add formulas) and then you end up with a dynamic dimension with all members having a resolution of zero order. "The order of resolution" is a property that controls the order of calculation and extends from 0 to 127.

This can change calculation results if you have existing dynamic members who also solve orders from scratch, because the solve order "tie" is broken by order reverse contour of the dimensions.

So if you change a dimension currently stored in dynamic and it appears in the sketch after (lowest in the Outline Editor view) all other dynamic dimensions (or all your other dynamic dimension members have an order of resolution greater than zero), you're safe; There is certainly no change in behavior. If you change a dynamic currently stored dimension and there are other sides dynamic after him in the sketch that contain zero members to resolve, you should test.

Further details on the order of calculation ASO in the database administrator's Guide: ASO calculation order

    * I leave aside the extremely rare case where you set orders non-zero address stored dimension, that (unfortunately) Essbase allows to perform, despite the fact it has no effect whatsoever - orders to solve without meaning survive the dynamic conversion and become meaningful.

  • Loading 2 alias of a member in a cube ASO by rule in essbase file

    Hi all
I have a request from ASO. We are members of dimension using dimension build rule filesto load.
Currently I am only alias default load using reference of parent-child. (Parent0 Child0 alias0)

My problem is that I want to load two aliases. (1.default, 2.Default1). How is that possible?
What should be the structure of my flat file for loading the metadata?

    Thanks in advance...

In a rule of load, you describe what table alias must be used. If you want to load more than one alias, then I suggest a format such as

    Parent, child, alias aliases1, Alias2

You would have two first rules would ignore alias 2 during construction of the dimension and the second he would ignore Alias 1 load. Each would be the table of the correct alias to load. (ISO the global settings of the Dimension tab build properties dialogue box).
