Direct printing of the PDF with barcode fonts built-in reports

Hi all

I looked through the forums and I have not found this particular question anywhere.

My organization has an application Oracle DB that we use to plan the work and keep track of their hours and customer billing. Everything goes through him. What I want to do is to start the order numbers work in bar codes on impressions rather than just the text of coding. They are only uppercase letters and numbers, this Code 3 of 9 would work well. These printed outputs generated by reports Oracle 10 g 2 running on a Linux platform and the text I would replace actually already printed between brackets with asterisks, so all I need to do is to change the font. (Code 3 of 9 bar codes are bracketed with * so that a scanner can indicate the beginning of the end.)

What I have heard, however, is that such a solution would need to install fonts of barcodes on each printer we use, which would be a giant pain. I took a glance to a PDF file generated by the application for the screen and it seems that there is not all embedded fonts, only references to Courier and Helvetica. I have also been informed that there may be some sort of compatibility issue with Linux and TTF fonts. I'm not a Linux expert. The application produces these reports through an automated process and print them to the appropriate locations. Is there a difference in the backend of processes involved in the generation of a PDF report to the screen, and sending a report directly to a printer? Is there a simple way (or at least not extremely difficult) to incorporate the police in these reports, as perhaps wrapping upwards in PDF format before sending it to print?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

Hello

Subsetting of fonts / embed fonts is supported by Oracle reports since the version 9.0.2

http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B14099_17/bi.1012/b14048/pbr_pdf.htm#i1013618

It is possible to add a destination to a report server that will send a PDF file to a printer:

See 'PDFPrint Destination' in the Oracle - Plugin Exchange reports

Exactly, it would depend on how you have set the referencing of your site, please check the suggestions made in this tutorial:

The family of products Acrobat 9.x passed in mid-2013 "end of Support".
Using Acrobat 9 of MS Project via PDFMaker stops with Office 2007.
To 2013 Office support, you must use Acrobat XI (11.0.1) or newer.

Acrobat Pro and Standard DC are what are currently available for purchase.

Hi, is it possible to export the site with system fonts without turning the police to the image?

I arrived to the police system in Hebrew ('David' & "Aharoni") and I don't want to turn into picture when im exporting.

    is this possible?

You'll want to consider using a 'Hosted Web Font. There are many free and commercial Web fonts. To use a font with Muse Web, you will need both the system/print the police and the Web. See web fonts self-hosted Add | Muse CC tutorials Adobe> for a quick video demo of the use of Web fonts.

I can't open the PDF with Adobe Reader XI... get an error that "Adobe has stopped working" then it closes.  Is it a question of Adobe, Microsoft problem or security issue?

Since you talk about Microsoft, I guess you're on Windows.

Can you open Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].

Hello, I am trying to send an email when the recipient opens the PDF with a password, can someone show me how to do

    Hi Line,

Password protect a PDF file, you must use Acrobat. If you do not have Acrobat, you can try it free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

In Acrobat, choose file > properties when the document is open, and then click the Security tab allows you to set up a password.

Please let us know how it goes.

  • which API allows to save the PDF with Adobe Reader 9?

    Hello

which API allows to save the PDF with Adobe Reader 9? It is said that "CosDocSaveWithParams" may not be used.

I've personally used both in the drive in a plugin, and the drive itself makes these calls.  HOWEVER, they only work on the active Reader documents.

  • PrintPagesSilent using to print the PDF with double-sided printing and color

The use of VBA with Acrobat 9.0 code library.

I have an application that prints the PDF files that are stored on a network drive.

I can print PDF files using PrintPagesSilent, which prints the file to the default Windows printer.

However, I want to be able to specify in the VBA code if I want the file in duplex or printed in color.

I can do this in access using the Printer.Duplex = '2' or Printer.Color = '2', but they do not change the windows default printer settings and therefore do not change how PrintPagesSilent prints.

Can someone shed some light on how I can set these parameters to accomplish what I need.

Or maybe another solution I didn't think.

Figured out, or at least a work around.

Found a VB code that can change Windows printer settings.

All I had to do was create a module and then call SetPrinterDuplex before you print the pdf file, and then again to change it after.

Here is a reference for anyone interested.

  • I WANT TO PRINT THE PDF WITH AUTO BROKEN IN HER OPTION. I HAVE THE FILE THAT HAS 500 PATIENTS LAB REPORT WITH EACH PATIENT OF THE ID OF THE PARTICULAR SAMPLE. HOW CAN I AUTO DASHED THEM WHEN PRINTING?

    Dear Sir.

I have the pdf of the folder that has report 500 in it. Each report a particular sample id written on it. But this file is merged. How can I print this file using discontinuous auto? I need auto clip per patient.

If you can auto discontinuous batches in a single file depends on the printer driver. Check the printer manufacturer's documentation, or the forum.

  • The document with a font not searchable Adobe Garamond Pro

    Hello

On my computer, I installed the Adobe Garamond Pro Font.

When I use this font to create word documents and then export or save as PDF, the text in this PDF document is not searchable. All the other fonts in the same document are (Calibri for example).

If I PRINT this document to the Adobe PDF printer, it creates a PDF file and the text IS searchable.

What it aims to create the PDF file using the export or Save function that causes this particular font to be unsearchable?

    See you soon

    Peter

The symptoms you describe, sounds like you are initially create PDF files to help Microsoft Save as PDF function rather than the function create a PDF Acrobat file (from the Ribbon) or item menu Save as Adobe PDF as file. Creating PDF from Microsoft is very, very buggy and does not support embedding OpenType CFF fonts as all Adobe fonts! On the other hand, the ability of PDFMaker provided with Acrobat certainly does support good embedding OpenType CFF fonts (which allows searching for formatted text in even) and avoids many other bugs from Microsoft!

    -Dov

PS: Adobe strongly recommends the use of the capacity of PDFMaker (the function create a PDF Acrobat file (since the Ribbon) or element menu Save as Adobe PDF under file) as opposed to printing on PostScript to Adobe PDF printer driver instance for Microsoft Office applications. Acrobat PDFMaker preserves transparency, color management and color spaces non - RGB raster image placed images in Office documents, as well as provide for bookmarks, links, etc.

  • Problem printer virtual 'Adobe PDF' with characters PDF of Mozilla

I'm on a laptop HP with Win7x64 Pro with all the latest updates. I have this page http://www.neowin.net/news/adobe-flash-player-1700169 and I am posting on 3 browsers - Chrome, Mozilla and Pale Moon. Pale Moon is sort of built on basis of Mozilla and is essentially a stripped down version of Mozilla.

Now in the case of "Mozilla" and "Pale Moon", I try to print a PDF of the above page, by pressing Ctrl + P and obtaining the standard print dialogue. I then choose "Adobe PDF" and normally I would get a normal PDF - search web page. At least that's what happened during the last 5 years of my use of Adobe Acrobat Pro and PDF Creator called 'Adobe PDF' (I think he called a virtual printer). Unfortunately when I print a PDF of the page above "Mozilla" and "Pale Moon", I get the PDF to the following research:

With Chrome, however, when I "Print" or "Save as", a pdf version of the same page, the PDF file is OK... no problem with the text. The PDF file seems normal... the characters are in English, because they are supposed to be, only not crazy - looking as in the picture above.

In addition, in Mozilla and Pale Moon, when I try to print the same page, instead of using "Adobe PDF" I choose "Microsoft XPS Writer" *.xps outputs properly document and the text is in English it is supposed to be, which led me to think that the problem is with virtual printer Acrobat.

I had the same problem on Mozilla and Pale Moon with other sites, too. Just do not remember now who it was, but basically, it's the same thing as the screenshot above.

Also go into the language and region settings > Administration > parameters system change in order to change the language used for non-Unicode programs. He was initially attached to the English and tried other languages and then back to English, but so far without success. Maybe I should choose a specific language? He left on the English, but the problem is still there... PLS help

What I see are 2 possibilities:

    1. you have to "rely on system fonts. "selected. Uncheck the box which.

    2. (probably 1) fonts will not be embedded if is not licensed for embedding. Maybe it's a problem from a browser.

Printing configuration file should not be a problem. That attempts to embed all fonts. You can uncheck remove logs too and see what is in the newspaper after the creation of the file. The log file can give clues on police issues.

  • Printing of the PDF already in the form of 2 - up booklet

I have a pdf file, about 100 pages long, in landscape mode, formatted for paper 8.5 "x 11". On each page are two areas (I'll call them "subpages"), 5.5 "x 8.5". The subpages themselves are in the desired order. What I want to do must fundamentally divided each page and its sub-pages, change the order of the subpages as they are compatible with brochure printing, recombine the subpages on pages format landscape, then print these pages, 8.5 "x 11". I know that Reader supports printing of booklet and BookletCreator, but as far as I can tell that each of these solutions taking existing pages, reducing them by a ratio of 1 / n - up and combine n facsimile of pages on a single page of the booklet.

I want to keep the size of my subpages even and don't change their printed order.

An example of the original pdf page follows.

Is there an Adobe (or another program of treatment pdf) have to achieve? Perhaps an addition of third in a program existing? The original of the document is a report of an Access database, if that helps.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Sample page.JPG

"" As far as I can tell, however, I would still be faced with the issue of zoom: standard booklet printing options require a two times larger than the output page, and I want to keep the current size of the subpage (5.5 "x 8.5") and only have access to 8.5 "x 11" book. I could create a report with all the fonts, images, and borders individually twice as big, as they resume a set of 8.5 "x 11" page, then 2 - up booklet print the result, but the creation of this new report would be a lot of work that I am hoping to spare me.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If you can format a Page size of 8.5 x 5.5 access, you would be able to use the Acrobat print booklet.

A sub-page of a page; We'd spend the term subpage.
