DirectX Redistributable is great and swell, please delete outdated files

DirectX Redistributable is great and swell.

In the Setup file:

  • includes many files that are not used, which is not necessary for Windows XP SP3 and later: dxnt.cab, bdant.cab, dxupdate.cab and dxdllreg_x86.cab. (minor dilation)
  • included several version of the file, which in my opinion, they are replaced. (major expansion)

Example: in the Mar2009_d3dx10_41_x86.cab figure d3dx10_41.dll inside of Aug2009_d3dx10_42_x86.cab contained d3dx10_42.dll .

While d3dx10_41.dll d3dx10_42.dll replaced , why didn't Microsoft included last Aug2009_d3dx10_42_x86.cab file (with the most recent version) only? Unless d3dx10_42.dll not replace d3dx10_41.dll.

  • With the help of Merge for Update, Insert, Update and also to delete outdated records

    Hi all!!!

Suppose that a credit memo the following table called Orders:
    ORDERID        STATUS      PRICE
    ---------- ---------- ----------
             1          0        100
             2          0        200
             3          0        300
             4          0        350
             5          0        390
In addition, there are a procedure that will generate data on a global temporary table, called Orders_Temp. This temporary table will be used to update the Orders table. + commands + have a trigger that will perform different operations when an Insert, Update, or Delete command is executed.

Consider the table of Orders_Temp to have the following data after you run a procedure that is responsible for the update of order data:
    ORDERID        STATUS      PRICE
    ---------- ---------- ----------
             1          1        100
             2          2        200
             3          0        300
             5          0        390
             6          0        350
As you can see, orders 1 and 2 have been updated. Order 3 and 5 were intact, order 4 has been deleted and command 6 inserted. Fusion will take care of properly manage orders 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6, although producing an update of order 3 and 5, which have not changed.

    So, here are the questions:
    (1) how could remove the 4 arrestedorder, as this order was not present on Orders_Temp? Is it possible to use the merge command to do this?
    (2) is it possible to generates not a update operation for orders of 3 and 5, which have not changed?

    I m using Oracle 10.2 SE.

    Thank you very much!
    Regis

    Hello

Please try this. Not tested! with 9i. I think you can do this by using the union all.

    MERGE INTO orders tgt
     USING (SELECT A.*, 1 mask
              FROM orders_temp A
            UNION ALL
            SELECT A.*, 0
              FROM orders A
             WHERE NOT EXISTS
                     (SELECT 1
                        FROM orders_temp b
                       WHERE A.order_id = b.order_id)) src
        ON (tgt.order_id = src.order_id)
    WHEN MATCHED
    THEN
      UPDATE SET tgt.status = src.status, tgt.price = src.price
         WHERE src.mask = 1
           AND tgt.status != src.status
           AND tgt.price != src.price
      DELETE
         WHERE src.mask = 0
    WHEN NOT MATCHED
    THEN
      INSERT VALUES (src.order_id, src.status, src.price)

or you could try to use a full outer join and treat NULL values.

  • Query a directory and delete all files older than 1 hours

How do I query a directory and delete all files in this directory that are older than 1 hour?

I used CFDIRECTORY before displaying the pages in the directory and the directory information, but I can't understand how to query a directory and delete all files older than 1 hour of this directory.

1 hour of old means that time is NOW over an hour of the date and time of the file on the server.

You need to the user a combonation of the tag to read files and the to delete the files in conjunction of a tag to decide when and when not to do the removal.  The dateDiff function would be useful in this decision.

    In the pseduo code:

NOTE: Look closely at the way the dateDiff works with fractional amounts.  That is, 59 minutes and 59 seconds is 0 hours while 1 hour and 1 second is 1 hour with the value of 'h' percision.

Also note that I didn't look at the syntax for one of these tags, and I probably poorly named and. or misorderd settings.

  • delete the file in windows 8.1

I can't delete pdf files in Windows Explorer 8.1.  It keeps telling me that it is used in another program that is not.  I tried to go to the Task Manager and stop all the Adobe programs running, but then return to Explorer and get the same result.  Very frustrating.  I guess when you click on the name of the file to delete, the Adobe viewer comes down automatically on the right side and begins to get a glimpse of this file in Explorer.  It is a gap specific Adobe and very frustrating.  Does anyone have a solution?  Be more appreciated.

    Hi Godhelpus,

Try turning off the preview pane and try to delete this file again.

If this does not work, restart the process explorer.exe from the Task Manager and try to delete this file.

Please come back if the problem persists.

  • Despite compact records later, I can't delete imported files

Trying to consolidate email accounts in thunderbird for winxpsp3. With the import feature, I tried to import
emails to outlook express and choose "all." Well, it has imported everything on my logical disk as a record of e-mail and now I can't delete them. They reappear once I deleted some of them on the next boot or install,
Java will not erase of it at all. Why it has imported no records email and or in any case can I get rid of these file directories once anmd for all. I even uninstall on 4 different and same versions messed up the folder tree appears always. I would really like to keep usng thunderbird, but it's maddening.

I stumbled upon the answer... somehow the program had used my drive D:\ logical for local folders "nobody," rather than looking in the D drive for mail folders. It is under this directive wide she added each file D that I got under local folders and couldn't delete all files in the local folders. It wasn't until I have change D to something more specific than ubiquitous inapplicable records finally went and could stay deleted.

  • Delete the files in the C:\i386\svcpack directory

I need to free up space on my C: partition, this directory looks like as if it had a good number of files that can offer valuable space, I need

    Hi Yoda-R6,

Deleting files from the i386 is not recommended, unless you have a genuine Windows XP installation CD. Sometimes the files in c:\i386 (or C:\Windows\ServicePackFile\i386) are needed to replace a damaged operating system file.  It doesn't happen very often, but if this happens to you and you have deleted the files, then you may need to use the Windows XP installation CD to replace the files.

  • What happens if I delete the files in the Temp folder in Windows 7?

What is happening in the windows--> Temp folder in windows 7, and if I delete the files there, that will be a problem?  I want to free up the disk space of 1.8 G, but can't find any info anywhere of the consequences of deleting these files, what they are for, or how they got there.  Thank you!

In general, it is safe to delete anything in the Temp folder.  Sometimes, you can get a "Cannot be deleted because the file is in use" message, but you can just ignore these files.

For safety, do your Temp directory deletion right after you restart the computer.  Sometimes a program installer will put something in the Temp directory it needs to complete the installation after a reboot.  If you restart and wait a bit so that they were, whatever left in the Temp folder should be OK to delete it.

If you want to be conservative, use the built-in Disk Cleanup tool (type of cleaning disc in the search box).  If you select "Temporary files" as one of the elements to clean (deleted), by default, that Disk Cleanup removes only the files that have not changed in 7 days.

  • Need permission to administrators when logged in as an administrator to delete a file in Windows 8

I have a laptop Windows 8, which I shared with my daughter. We had separate user accounts. Mine was an administrator account, hers was not the case. I recently bought him his own laptop and tried to delete his account on my laptop. I did it by going to user accounts in Control Panel and remove it. The delete process has worked but left his user account folder (c:\users\account_name). I tried to remove it, but I was told that I needed permission from administrators to exercise this function, even if mine was an administrator account. I followed the instructions of kb2623670 and that did not help. I noticed that the file was marked read-only. When I tried to deselect, told me I need administrator privileges to change the attribute. I clicked on OK to confirm and received a message saying:

An error occurred applying attributes to the file:

    \AppData\Roaming\...\Librariesaccount_nameC:\Users\

    Access is denied.

I then logged in as an administrator and tried to delete the file and got the same result. On the Security tab, I noticed that administrator and administrators (Group) have been listed separately, and this one was the owner of the folder. Then, I clicked on the Advanced button and changed the owner of the Administrators group on the administrator account just to confirm that this was not the issue. I tried to delete that file, and again did not. Then I navigated to the subfolder of low level libraries and tried to change the read-only attribute. I got the same error. I then clicked on the Security tab and saw 'you must have read permissions to view the properties of this object. Click Advanced to continue. "I clicked on the button advanced and got"you must have read permissions to view the properties of this object. Click on continue to retry the operation with administrative permissions. "I click on the button continue and got"you don't have permission to view the security properties of this object, even as an administrator. To try to take possession of the object, which includes permission to view its properties, click on change above. "There is no change button. There are only 3 tabs: permissions (which displays the message that I have just mentioned), sharing and effective access (which contains the same message on the permissions tab). I went to the user_name folder and in the advanced security properties selected the option "replace all entries authorization child object with entries permissions inheritable of this object." When I clicked on apply and then Yes on the confirmation message after, I got an error that says "could not enumerate the objects in the container. Access is denied. »

Is it possible to remove this folder, or even as an administrator there are things we can not do in Windows 8?

    Hello

You can deal with this problem because of changes in the Windows authorization by virus or by a third party antivirus.  Follow these methods and check:

Method 1: You can try to disable user account control, follow these steps:

    1. open user accounts by pressing the Windows key + X, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety, and then clicking user accounts.

    2. click on Turn User Account Control on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. Select the use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box to turn on UAC, or clear the checkbox to disable UAC, and then click OK.

Warning: User Account Control (UAC) can help prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. It works by asking permission when a task requires administrative rights, such as installing software or changing settings affecting other users. We do not recommend disable user account control. If you turn it off, you must reactivate as soon as possible.

Method 2: Because of the additional security mechanism 8 Windows, you might face this problem of permission. So if you need to access, appropriate drive and assign rights or permission to drive.

Here's the guide on how to take ownership and grant permission window 8.

"Access denied" or other errors in the access to or work with files and

Method 3: I suggest you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software. The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Also refer to this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/how-find-remove-virus

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Warning: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

I hope this helps. If you need help with Windows, let us know and will be happy to help you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry message memory and SIM card are full! Please delete some SMS messages.

    Hello

typical - just that I was looking to upgrade, I get the following message on my Torch 9800:

"BlackBerry message memory and SIM card are full! Please delete some SMS. »

There is a lot of space on the card in the device memory and press. I have deleted many texts and have removed the battery (several times), but the error keeps coming back.

I am able to text but can't seem to receive - although copies of text messages that I send continue to be saved. I'm having no problem with other forms of e-mail (for example, WhatsApp, Twitter).

I looked at 3465 Knowledge Base, which advises to uncheck the option "Leave Messages on SIM card", but this has been disabled throughout. (I checked it and saved out of curiosity, which allowed me to receive text only test that I then just sent myself, but after the error message is returned and no other text would come through...) I came back to this area being disabled).

Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

When you say you deleted text messages, how have you deleted and how do you think that you have?

I suggest making a backup with BB Desktop Software. Then, you can use it to do a selective removal of just the basis of message text and see if you can receive messages after that. If you did the backup you can always restore text messages on the device if you want to, although he will crush all new messages on the device.
