Disable save prompt when no changes to the file

When you open a file in InDesign, do absolutely no change, or press the buttons except to close the file, you are invited to apply to choose to save the file.

How can I disable this feature so that I can open a file, just look at and close it without being invited to record?

You can't turn it off, but you can run the following script to a line:

app.activeDocument.close (SaveOptions.NO);

This will close the document you are looking at without asking to save it.

If you saved this script in the scripts Panel, you can assign a keyboard shortcut to it. A little risky, though, because if you press this shortcut key by accident, your document will close without saving and no way to retrieve what you were working on (document recovery does not work in this case).

Perhaps, instead of a keyboard shortcut, you can run it through a quick application (which can be set to include scripts). That would make it less likely to call by accident.
