  • Hard drive being highly accessible all few seconds, although it is, the computer crashes

Since about 3 days (or at least that is the oldest I noticed it, but he couldn't have done it much earlier) my computer was freezing for 3-4 seconds, while the hard drive turns on solid. This occurs regardless of whether the computer is nothing or not constantly every few seconds. I went around the internet looking for ideas, but nothing I tried to (disable superfetch, windows search, start in safe mode, update drivers, looking for the raid drivers, disarm avg, defragmentation and simply drop each program without importance, I can get away with) had no effect.

The computer is an Alienware M15x, I got less than two months ago (totally awesome Christmas gift). It has Windows 7 Home Edition premium on it, a hard disk of 500 GB that says all diagnostics works very good and 6 GB of ram, I had AVG Antivirus on it too (until I took it in the attempt to solve this problem), and the protection of the system (the backups and whatnot) was already disabled. I also did a restore system before it started doing this, but which did not help either.

The only problem it says that appears when I generate a health report to the system that is the disk queue length average 2-3 and going as high as 30. I can sit and watch points every 2-3 seconds since the resource monitor, which coincides with the HDD light will the computer crashes. It does even in safe mode, and it made all the games freeze market too.

I'm completely at the end of my tether here and nothing I tried worked, is there something I'm missing here?

Absolutely nothing worked, I'll try to reinstall windows, and if that does not do, Alienware will repair this one way or another. Thanks for the suggestions so.

    (edit a few hours later)

I reinstalled, and it always does, so the hard drive needs to be spoiled. guess I must return.

    Service Pack 3/Pagemaker problems

I am running Windows XP Home Edition. None of the Adobe CS2 programs allow me to open the old Pagemaker files.  It gives the error message: file is damaged.  According to my research, the problem with Service Pack 3.  The research also tells me that the solution is the removal of the service pack.

When I try to remove Service Pack 3, the computer crashes.  Are there other solutions?

Problem is not with the help of CS2 in itself - it works fine...  Apart from the fact that none of the CS2 programs will allow me to open Pagemaker 7 or old Pagemaker files.

Who should have nothing to do with the level of service pack for XP!

Yet once, if there is a problem, uninstall and reinstall CS2. But as you know, CS2 is quite old and is no longer supported. If this feature is important to you, I guess using the current version would be the way to go.

  • The computer crashes; slow to start; Not relevant

    It's all thanks to IT.

    Hello

You will have to provide much more information to help. Some questions are:

    (1) what you were doing when the computer crashed? What programs have been opened? Running?

    (2) you online were at the time? Had recently downloaded anything? You have applications antivirus and anti-malware on your computer? Have you run analyses with these programs? If so, what was done and what show?

    (3) what do you mean exactly by "inadmissible"? You can do something, or is it just sit there doing nothing? When you say 'slow start', which is just an impression or you timed? If you have timed the start, what are the gaps of time?

    (4) depth OS and little do you have? How much RAM do you have? What and how many programs you load at startup?

This is the starting point to determine what might happen. There may be more questions that need to ask, but until you have answered these questions, there is little I can do to help you.

  • Wireless adapter fails - then the computer crashes.

I've had this problem for a few days now. Basically, the problem is that my computer freezes completely and it becomes unresponsive at random times. It happened while I watch videos, play games or surf the internet, even while I'm on the login screen.

I have recently noticed that just before the accident, strange things happen that seem to be centered around the wireless adapter. I'm not going to load a Web page, so I'll check the icon wireless and see that I'm connected to the network, but not internet. And then, as I try to disable and re-enable the adapter, the computer will crash.

I just downloaded the drivers from the adapter and install them, but that has not changed anything.

Anyone know what could cause this weird problem?

    Thank you.

    PS:

Just happened twice again. Failed loading of Web pages, and who warned me that something was up. I unplugged the adapter, the operation aboard as usual for a while, but the computer does not save the adapter has been unplugged and continued to try to load web pages for a few moments, before it crashes.

I could find these files and delete them but have no idea if this would solve the problem and do not want to do the wrong thing...

    Hello

Not easy to say why this is happening, but for me it s definitely something wrong with the software.
Well, in this case we can only speculate. You know, it s Microsoft Windows and sometimes things happens without any reason :(

I have heard from probably the system restore function could be corrupted and no have deleted the folder with the minidump and disabled the system restore feature in the control panel-> system.

But in my opinion, the system restore function is important and necessary if you want to restore the operating system to the beginning.
That's why I put t recommend disabling this feature.

  • the computer crashes when video Skype calling

OK, so during a video call, the other night, my laptop Averatec running Windows XP home overheated and shut down, I restarted, since then when I go to the video conference on Skype, my computer crashes, restarts and gives me several different answers, for example a blue error screen, malware, software spies ect in conflict.

Since this place has started, I took the following steps and not to find another solution.

    • check disk
    • updated Sytem
    • Update driver
    • Update directX
    • Uninstall / reinstall Skype
    • installation of mcafee
    • Disk Cleanup
    • removal of unwanted emissions

I can't understand what other solution to use

Other that the timelysupportof the right answer, you could do things * methodically * and in the following order:

    1. Uninstall Skype.
    2. Update your web maison.* of manufacturers motherboard chipset driver
    3. Update your audio device driver, since manufacturers web maison.*
    4. Update your video device since the manufacturers driver web maison.*
    5. Update your network from the Web pages of manufacturer (s) device driver. *
    6. Reboot and install CCleaner.  Run and cleaning of loose files it finds.
    7. Download and install MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware (FREE for BOTH) and run scans of complete system with each of them (one at a time) and remove all found each of them.
    8. Open the registry and find the Skype entries and remove them.  Everything you find.  HKLM and HKCU areas in particular.
    9. Reboot again.
    10. Run a CHKDSK on all readers
    11. Perform a defrag on all readers
    12. Reboot again.
    13. Visit http://winodwsupdate.microsoft.com/ and install all the updates that are not optional (optional and hardware software optional can be ignored) and who do not update anything you don't want to update (such as Internet Explorer, etc.)
    14. Restart and repeat 13-14 until you have updated not more not optional, you need to install.  Reboot once more for good measure.
    15. Download the latest version of Skype and install it. Reboot before running it.

    * If possible, go the real manufacturer - not the whole machine - but the device.  For example, if you have an Intel chipset based motherboard, download the drivers for it to Intel.  If you have a video device nVidia, download the drivers for it from nVidia.  If you have a Broadcom network device, download the drivers for it from Broadcom.  If you have a RealTek audio device, download the drivers for it from RealTek.  And so on...

If, after doing all this in this order, it still does not - it is probably a hardware problem or a Skype number.  However, you might try ONE last thing.  SFC/scannow.  You will need your Windows XP CD-ROM.

After that - you are really left with material/Skype or something messed up so you might resign yourself to try a full installation of fresh erase (although I wouldn't do if I couldn't have my disk image and send it to where it was before I tried.)

  • the computer crashed, I need to reinstall my operating system software

My computer crashed. How can I get a copy of my operating system from Vista to reinstall? I bought a mac and parallels software, and I need to install my software Vista be able to use it (it has been preloaded on my pc crashed).

    Hello

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista on your computer "crashed".

If you want to install anywhere else, like her, is a preinstalled OS, it is linked to the original computer "crashed" it came installed on.

An OEM license is not transferable

And install on a Virtual Machine requires a new license.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

I have a windows vista computer and when I start the SUST until it goes to my login screen, I connect the Welcome screen comes the computer hangs... I do a control-Alt - Delete that returns the desk top

When you get on the desktop, open the start menu to search msconfig and press ENTER.

When the popup window appears, it should start under the general tab, and you should see normal startup. For now, set it to start diagnosis, press ok and restart the computer. If it still crashes, then replace the and set it back to normal startup, as something else is causing this problem.

If she does not hang, and then back up the, set back to normal and this time go to the Startup tab. The list is all the things that are set to start when you start your computer. One of them is causing the computer to crash.

If you have an idea that it might be that you can deselect it, apply, then reboot and see if it still crashes. Or you could just go in the list, one at the same time turn them off then restart suspended far, so you know which is the cause.
