Disable the refresh option in Windows 8

We are a company managing various outsourced customers. I had 4 end-users "Refresh" their computer Windows 8. It cost me 3 hours per computer for re - configure everything. This is the WORST feature that Microsoft has already highlighted. It could be an option when necessary, but then hide it where normal users not to go. But no, Windows MUST randomly a popup on the bottom right asking the user if he or she would like to refresh their computer. It frustrates me and users. Is it possible to disable this feature?

HA, looks like that!

But yes, in all seriousness, this boils down to two (well, three) things like I said because disabling pure and simple is not a possibility:

1 use GPO to maximize the level of UAC, so the end user will not be able to screw up anything. Major this is potential con grumpy end-users complain to your higher ups, which will then probably cancel you THAT EVERYTHING with regard to the GPO, then you will be again in the box start. I guess you can try and explain the reasons for this change in the first place, but I digress.

2. simply (and this seems more realistic) STRESS the importance of NOT selecting or touch anything in which case refreshing or reset the system. The idiot here is you can be ignored and the end-user will anyway the error or negligence will cause it to happen. Here, the pro is that you can stay on Windows 8 (if that's what you want). It will save you the time of restoration, etc.

3 come back to Windows 7. There is no con to be here it's just a lot of work for you. The pro is that you never have to worry about your end users doing a refresh / Reset error once again and you might assume that the amount of refresh / Reset errors overall over time will thus become more of a workload that roll back to Windows 7 has been.

It always baffles me how your end users have not jumped their windows to get used to Windows 8. The GUI can be very scary for the average user.

Kind regards

Patrick

Original title: Windows Live Hotmail only opens a new window links e-mail composition!

I recently put my Windows Live Hotmail account to my default e-mail client in Internet Explorer 8 on my Windows XP SP3 System. Unfortunately, whenever I click on a link to e-mail on a Web page to open a new message, Hotmail tells me, "Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Hotmail right now", and a new/compose message window does not open. I disabled the HTTPS option in Hotmail, which fixed the problem. However, when I went to do a manual update of Windows, I am nailed with a Trojan horse! Apparently, the Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials have been affected by turning off HTTPS in Hotmail! It's 2012, and it's terribly disappointing that Microsoft only has not ironed out all the imperfections in these services now. • I need to disable the 'Help' option in the main menu.

I am running Public Fox 1.09 as an addition in our school district, because it allows me to keep the students from our proxy. They discovered that all that they have to go to 'Help' and 'restart with disabled modules. They can then select "Not of Proxy" and get anywhere that they want. I need to disable the 'Help' option in the main menu.

Hello NeonLeon, if it would be possible in principle to hide some menu entries, the next thing that your students will discover is that you can also get in safe mode by pressing the SHIFT key while launching firefox, so it's no solution...

You can use a mozilla.cfg file in the firefox program folder (where the students hopefully will have no write access) to lock some preferences as the configuration of your proxy, for more information, see: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences

I wasn't able to get automatic updates to download a microsoft windows update.  The fix for microsoft in default mode indicated that he needed to be repaired and that fixed it.  When windows update was used again the update has failed once again.  The fix even that it was then run in aggressive mode and with a recheck has failed to correct the problem.  At each restart, automatic updates took the time to start producing a yellow shield and then pop-up reminders.  So thank you to help us with these questions to disable the automatic updates of windows.

    Hello

In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the Firefox options set and facilitate future improvements of Firefox, the option to hide the tab bar has been removed.

Fortunately, this can easily be solved if you want the tabs to keep hidden. You can install "hide the tab with a tab bar", an extension hosted on the site of Mozilla Add - ons, which will restore the ability to hide the tab bar.

Thank you and I hope this helps!
