Disable the touchpad with mouse connected in Windows 7

I have a Dell Inspiron 1420.  Recently walking from Vista to Windows 7.  In Vista, I had the Mouse/touchpad settings set to disable the touchpad when a USB mouse is connected.  Cannot find the menu/right screen now put back in Windows 7.  Cannot not even find any indication of a touchpad or software for this anywhere in the menus of the program or the material.  Don't want to permanently disable the touchpad, just at the moment where a mouse is connected. Looking for step by step instructions, please!

Contact Dell and ask where you can get Windows 7 software support for the touchpad that is adapted to your laptop. Dell tells you, it is possible that software exist on the Synaptics or Alps support pages, but you need to know who of the touchpad is equipped... • How to DISABLE the touchpad on my laptop to use a mouse instead

I had to reformat my computer Dell Inspiron 1545 (64-bit) and installed Microsoft Office 2010. I have a serious problem when you type in will I suddenly find I type in a place far behind the cursor. I thought that this is because I use a standard mouse operated by hand and not the touchpad in the laptop itself. I am told the only way to solve this problem is to turn off or disable the touchpad when mouse is used.

All efforts to find the way to do this have failed. Can you please specify? Dell has become so elusive and inexplicable, it seems totally oblivious to the real problems associated with this product - a classic case of supplier having lost interest in his clients. All THREE so-called solution have no effect on my keyboard. To the right of F12 key ejects the CD. F3 provides details on the battery and Fn + F1 does nothing - in other words there is no change at all.
I don't think that Dell or Microsoft has an idea of what the problems--and care even less!

  • Can I disable the TouchPad?

When I use the trackpoint my wrist guard touching the touchpad moving my cursor. Is it possible to disable the touchpad? I'm running Windows 7 on a W500.

You will need 2 pieces of software for the complete control of the stick and touchpad. You will need the Ultranav Driver and Ultranav utility. I suggest to uninstall all Ultranav relating to software you have loaded, reboot and then install the driver first, followed by the utility. Or, after the reboot, you can let the program to update system (version 4 for Win7) do all the update for you.

    Hello

You see Synaptics tab? In the affirmative, please use this tab to disable the touchpad, if no, you must use the tab settings of the HP control area (for the newer machines). And in both cases, check the box "turn off internal...." 'and 'Apply'.

    Kind regards.
