• What version of Essbase Excel add-in supports 64 bit Windows 7 on our PC?

  (1) someone can tell us what is the latest version of 64-bit supplement Essbase Excel 11.1.1.3.x and this latest version of the Essbase Excel add-in will support 64-bit Windows 7 on our PC?
  (2) we downloaded Essbase excellent complement 11.1.2 and could not connect to the server Essbase 11.1.1.3. It gave an error message - "this version is newer than the Essbase server." Is there a solution? (we hoped 11.1.2 would support windows 7 64 bit)
  
  PS. There is a knowlegebase article that teaches us how to get Smartview 11.1.2 to connect to Essbase. We could not quite follow the badly written artible KB, but Mrs. V support Oracle claims that she was able to connect and she wrote the article.
  We managed to get to connect to Planning 11.1.1.3 Smartview 11.1.2!

  The support matrix, it seems as if it was 11.1.2 that currently support your configuration. (this is not to say other versions would not work they just would not officially supported)
  If you get the version warning message you should be able to just click on ok and always connect and recover from a 11.1.1.3 database.

We are trying to install Essbase Excel add-in on new user, installation works well without any problem, launch Excel, the snap-snap-in, the user can see all Essbase - menu options, however, when the user clicks 'Connect', there NO window of fast connection to come, you have any suggestions or see simiar question?

• How to get essbase excel add in the display of the total cumulative number?

  When I connect firstly in my ASO application via the excel add-in, the first thing I see is a null value. My first dimension/column is 'period '. Period is marked as a dynamic calc and label only.
  
  When I drill down in the period I see obviously all rollup values. How can I get the excel to display the full cumulation (instead of having to drill down) when I connect firstly because I like to keep my options as ' delete missing values / zeros "checked.
  
  I see in Sample.Basic is 105522. I want something like that. I tried reloading the numbers and changed the properties without result.
  
  What is the logic behind this?

  If "Period" is marked as 'Label only' it will take the value of her first child, if the first child has a value of #Missing, then "Period" also will display a value of #Missing. If you want to 'Period' to show all the periods (as Sample.Basic does) then you need to take off the "Label" label only

  I installed the hyperion 11.1.2.2 version in windows 2008 server (64-bit system)
  
  Server is in place and works very well. !
  
  I installed the Excel add-in, and then I got a problem here. When I opened excel, Smartview is indicated at the top but Essbase does not appear. I tried so many ways, but no use.

  Mady, I hope that you were not trying to open the supplements directly from Windows. The XLL Essbase XLA work in Excel like Add-Ins, and not as executable files. When I double-clicked the XLL and XLA, I got the Microsoft Security warning, which I assume is what you were doing wrong. You can also google Excel add-ins on the way to handle it if you don't know what to do. It is very simple.

  I installed customer 11.1.2 Essbase and Spreadsheet Add-Ins 11.1.2 successfully.
  
  After that, I opened MS Excel 2007.
  
  I can able to display the add-ins tab.
  
  Then I tried to connect to Excel with essbase through the next step
  
  -> Add-ins-> Essbase-> connect
  
  I get no popup window inorder to enter the admin username and password. I'm on 64-bit Windows server 2008 and by using MS Excel 2007 32-bit.
  
  Both the s/w have been installed by using the administrator account that the Addin is active and not disabled in Excel Options. I read the related issues and proposed resolutions triggered on this before, but nothing helped.
  
  Can someone let me know anything that I'm missing that could be the cause.

  I put in "Server Access" service in the analytical server and "read" permission for Essbase App.
  
  But while I m connect via "Excel add in" with this user, there is an error message "failed to connect due to invalid credentials".

  Hi Vivek,

  You don't need to restart the service.

  you just need to synchronize the user using the sequence of commands maxl.

  change the resync sss system; --> This command synchronizes all users, groups.
  change the group Security with all applications of synchronization ;--> this can be used to synchronize the group individually
  change user Security with all applications of synchronization ;--> this can be used to synchronize the user required individually

  use the command according to the needs and try to connect again.

  Properly installed the 32-bit Excel Add - In client and set up the Add-In. When we sign of goto in our application and select Essbase-> Connect, nothing happens. No sign in box or something pops up... Any ideas?

  is the complement of Exel for Essbase in Version 11 compatible with Office 2010?
  We are the Office deployment this year but are currently only using the essbase 7 Add in version

  you roll on a beta version of the software? Office 2010 is not GA yet. If you look at the matrix of support for products, I'm sure, that we won't get the snap-snap-V7 is even compatible with Excel 2007, but many people have successfully deployed.

  I installed 11.1.2.2 on server with Essbase and Shared Services.
  
  Now, on the client, I have 64-bit Windows 7 and 64-bit office 2010.
  
  I tried to install the Excel Addin client only (without customer Essbase) and restarted the computer after installation.
  After that install addin not launched automatically and I tried to manually set the add-in, I get an error "is not a valid add-in.
  
  Is this because I use 64-bit office and need to revert to 32-bit.
  is not supported for the last 11.1.2.2 Essbase 64-bit?
  
  Any ideas or experience in this regard will be useful to me that our society is underway for Windows 7 and Office 2010 through the users and if 64-bit Office is not supported or has problems, I wanted them to go with 32-bit Office 2010.

  2 methods...

  Method 1:

  Press and HOLD on Ctrl + Alt keys > use the arrow keys (up, down, left, right) to realign the screen

  
  Second method:

  Right-click on the free space of the desktop > graphics > Rotation > try normal first, then 90 degrees, then the others.

  The above 2 methods should fix.
  If not, do a system restore.
  Choose a date where your screen was right-side-up up as your restore point.

  Don't know what I'm missing because I was told to do the below. I did these steps:
  
  1 uncompressed the file V15966-01 in the installation directory.
  2. unzipped the file V16855-01 in the installation directory.
  3 uncompressed the file V15981-01 in the installation directory.
  
  When I goto run installation and I get to the screen to choose Client 32-bit Essbase. It does not allow me to install and comes up with this error:
  
  
  Missing assemblies: required component next assemblies be installed: commonComponents.
  
  No idea what I'm missing?

  You also need the foundation components (there are 4, V16851-01, V16852-01, V16853-01, V16855-01), do not know whether you need all.
  It should download and extraction of one at a time to see if you need them all.

  Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

  1. a System Restore to before the updates:

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

  If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

  If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

  Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

  System restore steps according to the info above.
