  I installed 11.1.2.2 on server with Essbase and Shared Services.
  
  Now, on the client, I have 64-bit Windows 7 and 64-bit office 2010.
  
  I tried to install the Excel Addin client only (without customer Essbase) and restarted the computer after installation.
  After that install addin not launched automatically and I tried to manually set the add-in, I get an error "is not a valid add-in.
  
  Is this because I use 64-bit office and need to revert to 32-bit.
  is not supported for the last 11.1.2.2 Essbase 64-bit?
  
  Any ideas or experience in this regard will be useful to me that our society is underway for Windows 7 and Office 2010 through the users and if 64-bit Office is not supported or has problems, I wanted them to go with 32-bit Office 2010.

  Hello, I just got an application called James Cameron's Titanic Explorer, it's cool, but I have a problem installing it.

  EDIT: I tried compatibility mode, no luck.

  According to the program, it does not work on a 64-bit so make OS run natively is very likely.

  If you have another Windows license, you can still use Windows Virtual PC to run virtually, but keep in mind any visualization program has limited graphics ability and it may not always work well or very quickly.

  Mady, I hope that you were not trying to open the supplements directly from Windows. The XLL Essbase XLA work in Excel like Add-Ins, and not as executable files. When I double-clicked the XLL and XLA, I got the Microsoft Security warning, which I assume is what you were doing wrong. You can also google Excel add-ins on the way to handle it if you don't know what to do. It is very simple.

  When I connect firstly in my ASO application via the excel add-in, the first thing I see is a null value. My first dimension/column is 'period '. Period is marked as a dynamic calc and label only.

  If "Period" is marked as 'Label only' it will take the value of her first child, if the first child has a value of #Missing, then "Period" also will display a value of #Missing.   I installed customer 11.1.2 Essbase and Spreadsheet Add-Ins 11.1.2 successfully.
  
  After that, I opened MS Excel 2007.
  
  I can able to display the add-ins tab.
  
  Then I tried to connect to Excel with essbase through the next step
  
  -> Add-ins-> Essbase-> connect
  
  I get no popup window inorder to enter the admin username and password. I'm on 64-bit Windows server 2008 and by using MS Excel 2007 32-bit.
  
  Both the s/w have been installed by using the administrator account that the Addin is active and not disabled in Excel Options. I read the related issues and proposed resolutions triggered on this before, but nothing helped.
  
  Can someone let me know anything that I'm missing that could be the cause.

  I M using Hyperion 9.3.0 and external authentication (MSAD) for users.
  
  I put in "Server Access" service in the analytical server and "read" permission for Essbase App.
  
  But while I m connect via "Excel add in" with this user, there is an error message "failed to connect due to invalid credentials".

  You don't need to restart the service.

  you just need to synchronize the user using the sequence of commands maxl.

  change the resync sss system; --> This command synchronizes all users, groups.
  change the group Security with all applications of synchronization ;--> this can be used to synchronize the group individually
  change user Security with all applications of synchronization ;--> this can be used to synchronize the user required individually

  use the command according to the needs and try to connect again.

  Properly installed the 32-bit Excel Add - In client and set up the Add-In. When we sign of goto in our application and select Essbase-> Connect, nothing happens. No sign in box or something pops up... Any ideas?

  If you have 64-bit windows server, you can run either 32-bit or 64-bit essbase, you want to get more benefits by using the 64-bit version (9.3.1.5 is the last)

• Disappears Essbase Excel add - how to fix?

  I have about 5 users who complain about the add-ins that disappears when having that many spreadsheets open during the end of the month. Anyone see this? Is there a good way to avoid this otherwise by ridiculing my users of excessive taxation of their systems? We are office 2007 with Essbase 9.3.1.2.7 snap-in.

  I believe that the problem has been close Excel and hit Cancel on the save prompt.
