  It depends on your chipset.
  If your chipset supports 1333 Mhz RAM then works with maximum performance, otherwise it would be clocked up to 1066 Mhz.

  No, system will ASSIGN memory AVAILABLE for the graphics if necessary. No way to add more DEDICATED to onboard video memory. You need another card or an expansion card.

  Yes, if you buy a X 201 with 2 GB, you'll have another free port. But you can also order directly with 4 GB. It is always better to run a system with a pair of RAM.

  Another thing if you want to upgrade to 4 GB order your X 201 with windows 7 64-bit otherwise the 32-bit version cannot recognize more than 3 GB.

  4GBs is the maximum that you can install the 32-bit system.

  But it will only use between 3.0 - 3.5GBs of it.

  Okies, I've never had a problem until recently. Windows 8 came with this machine, and I've had problems of performance for a month now.   2 x 4 GB will work to 1x4Go single channel and dual channel. My advice: get 2 x 4 GB, so you have 4x4GB.

Also, I like the WIMAX feature on my current model, but do not see that as an option on the W530. Am I missing something? In my case, what do you suggest? I am very grateful for any input!   You can replace the hard drive of spinner legacy with a 256 GB SSD. I highly recommend the upgrade by using the method of cloning with a sata to usb cable. You can make an image recovery factory with the usb recovery media that you have created now.

  HP Service Centers do not perform the upgrade work. You wil perform have the upgrade on your own or pay a shop laptop to do it for you.
