Disc cleaning problems

I have an old laptop running Windows 7 and my drive C (system disk) is saturated (1-5 MB free). Although I tried to use Disk Clean up, but it didn't free up a lot of space in the disk. And I tried other software cleanup, but it still does not. Could someone help me?

P/s: I did not update Windows 7 for a year. When Windows 10 came out, so I want to update. But there is no of any free disk space to update and upgrade. So...

You have quite a few fairly important issues here (and using the third party 'cleaning' software will probably made things worse - not recommended...) - and you have not updated for a year?

IMO there are only two choices for you to consider - the first is necessary, the second - to you. First, buy a decent USB external hard drive similar (or slightly larger) in size on the disk on your old laptop. Copy all your personal files (docs, photos etc.) on the drive and check that they are all copied OK. You will need this to free up space or transfer them over - (next option)... Buy a new laptop! 10 W installation on the new machine... Keep your old laptop on W7, so that you can still use features that won't W10. Now, you will be able to free up space above to fix things (although I think that you may need to clean the re - install Windows 7 to get all the updates on the right)

If you can't go to the latter charge, personally, I would stick with Windows 7 (which will continue to be supported until 2020) and leave 10 until you can (or should!) buy a new pc.

The more you... Cheers, r.

  • disc clean up on vista Home premium

I use disk clean at least 4 times a week on vista Home premium, but deleted files called back

Don't forget not, even if clean you a file, usually, new items will be added in this file - you can not clean once and hope that it stay like that.  After using disk cleanup, empty the trash to see if that helps to keep the files back (if they are back - are you sure that they are the same files or that new copies because you have visited the same web sites or similar activities).  Post some examples of files that are 'back' so that I can see if there are any model.  Check after cleaning to make sure they're really gone (I want to rule out the possibility that the process does not work)?  Which boxes you check when do you cleaning disc (so I don't know what types of files are potentially return)?

If you do that frequently, we can set it up as a scheduled task so it becomes automatic and you don't have to do it manually every time.  If you are interested, let me know and I'll post the modalities of implementation of a task in Task Scheduler.

Thank you.  Once I have your answer, I'll see if I can understand what is happening or what to do next.

    Good luck!

Start, the cursor to "all programs", click on accessories, System Tools. You see them on the list? If you do, right-click on them and select either, to pin to the taskbar of the tasks, start menu or desktop.

Hi & thanks for the reply; I did as you said, but none were in the Accessories/System Tools folder.

OK, try this, click on start, computer, click once on the C:\ Drive, then right click and select "Properties". Click on the tab "Tools". Do you not see there the defragmentation tool.

Also, you can run the SFC.exe (System File Checker) tool to fix a corrupted user profile.

  • Satellite L350-17Z: Question recovery disc creation - problem with calibration

I'm eager to get win xp instead of vista current on Satellite L350-17Z because some soft is not stable and vulnerabilities, while under xp on the desktop computer, I had no problem. XP compatibility mode is not solve this problem.

So I decided to do it in a cruel manner as a laptop is new and almost empty, not to mention the habit of hard drive xp. Still I tried to make a recovery, using TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator.

Buta * during DVD burning there is a fault and message about some problems with the calibration. I tried a few discs - same result.

    Hi Snen,

It would be interesting to know what CD/DVD drive you have. Maybe you should try to update the firmware of the drive. For some readers of Toshiba and Pioneer, the site shows an update of the firmware. It s worth a try!
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

And what kind of DVD that you use to create a recovery disk? I have good experience with the types of DVD - R and I use Verbatim.

  • Recovery discs creating problem

    Hello

I just bought a Lenovo 3000 N500 3 DG and I have this problem when I try to create the recovery disks:

I do double click on unity of q, and the system then asks me if I want to do the recovery disks. Then I click 'Yes' and the system creates a first disc succesfully (labeled "disc 1 product thinkvantage recovery"), but then I inserted a DVD to make the second disc and when the system is it creates about 80-90%, an error occurs and the process is interrupted. This error occurs whenever I try to create the second DVD, exactly at the same point in the creative process. I tried a few types of DVD and none of them works.

I think this may be due to a failure of the windows vista software, recording, because when I burn a DVD with Nero everything is Ok and when I try to burn a CD with windows, that an error occurs at the end of the process of the. Could someone tell me how to do the recovery discs?

I also have a second question: the laptop comes with windows vista Home premium pre-installed, and I want to downgrade to XP Professional. Does anyone know if the warranty expires during a downgrade? And if I decide to do the downgrade, then I remove the three partitions (C:, q and S or the S: partittion is necessary for recovering the system?)

    Thank you!

Please take a look at the solution in this post to see if that helps your situation. To let us know.

If you upgrade to XP is not invalidated your warranty, the warranty covers the hardware and not software.

If you create recovery discs for your Vista installation, you can delete all partitions, recovery CD will be recreated them when you use them.

    Hope this helps

Copy the installation on an external hard disk drive or usb files and use the reader on your imac.  or if you follow the 7 steps you can dl a free trial here: http://prodesigntools.com/lightroom-5-ddl-comparison-vs-lr4.html

If you have a problem dl'g, you don't follow all 7 steps.  the most common mistake is not meticulously follow the steps 1, 2, and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system, allowing you to download the correct version of the adobe.com site).

  • The disc encoding problems?

    Two distinct problems:

1 / I reduced short 50i PAL widescreen video of CS4 DVD MPEG-2 using 'Quality to make Maximum usage' in HDV export settings. The sound was PCM. I used 2 Pass VBR, bitrate Min 2.8, bitrate Max 8, target 7 flow, M 3 frames, frame N 12, as in the tutorial of Jeff Bellunes. I burned it with ImgBurn. The disc plays perfectly in my DVD player, but will not play at all in two of my fellow gamers and games without audio in a third player. Why my DVD is not compatible with all stakeholders?

2 / I transcoded a HDV PAL MPEG - 2 Blu - Ray picture 50i project, then there engraved on Blu - Ray disc using ImgBurn. The disc plays OK for a few minutes, and then suddenly at a time of transition, the sound goes completely out of sync compared to the image and the remains. The project plays perfectly in Pro without loss of synchronization.

If anyone has any ideas for these 2 problems, I would appreciate hearing them.  Thank you

    What is the burner firmware?

    Tim,

Many pieces of electronic equipment have a chip with a set statement encoded in it. This coded instruction set is the "Firmware". With many of these devices, you can "flash" this chip to update than the set statement. Sometimes, it comes to correct mistakes and sometimes to implement new features.

In the case of a few pieces of hardware, this will remove the ability to say to read serious records. It seems that some BD readers and things like game consoles were paralyzed by the firmware updades. You don't have to worry about that in your case.

    Good luck

  • Qosmio X 500-106 - installation of Windows 7 clean problems

    Hello

    Recently bought a Toshiba X 500-106
and it came with Windows 7 Home Premium,
I bought Windows 7 Ultimate that I wanted to use
    Bit-Locker.

When I installed Windows 7 Ultimate OS I booted my laptop computer and found that all the original software had disappeared.
Of course, but now the screen is dark and the graphics are not right as I tried to run Solitaire and he says "not graphic with hardware acceleration.

I then checked my rating system and found that my graphics has been classified as "1.0"; and I can't watch any DVD or blu - ray movies, I keep trying to find a way to change the frame of the video, but in vain!

It's worth to restore me the HARD drive to factory Spec?
I'm not happy that it's just bad, do I have the original software to change the settings?

I installed all the divers and the software of NVIDIA and Toshiba, but it does not work!

What is my best option? Clean install again?
The specifications of the factory restore disk?

    Any help appreciated massively

To be honest I don't understand why you're so surprised.
You removed the OS pre-installed and installed own naked version without driver, Toshiba, utility and software tools extra.

If you want to have it all, you need to update you and do not clean installation of the operating system. There is a big difference.

So if you want to have all the Toshiba stuff I recommend to install recovery image Toshiba Win7 and upgrade to Ultimate.

  • E5 - 772 disc copy problem

    Hi all:

I have a problem that suddenly appeared last week. I can no longer copy DVDs on an ISO file using my internal or external burners. I had just earn 8.1 at the time where this has occurred first, now I also earn 10 put in place on a dual boot, and I do not installed driver or firmware updates before that happened. I ran a scan sfc of the side 8.1 and 2 or 3 errors could not be repaired. The strange thing is when I tried to create an ISO file win 10, the operation failed there as well. For the software, I use BurnAware Free and I did about 10-15 ISO without any problems before this files. I tried to find a decent free ISO creator to Midway to check error, but they are quite hard to find. Another thing, I also had bad to burn copies as well. Do 3 or 4 coasters before I gave up.
