Satellite L350-17Z: Question recovery disc creation - problem with calibration

I'm eager to get win xp instead of vista current on Satellite L350-17Z because some soft is not stable and vulnerabilities, while under xp on the desktop computer, I had no problem. XP compatibility mode is not solve this problem.

So I decided to do it in a cruel manner as a laptop is new and almost empty, not to mention the habit of hard drive xp. Still I tried to make a recovery, using TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator.

Buta * during DVD burning there is a fault and message about some problems with the calibration. I tried a few discs - same result.

Hi Snen,

It would be interesting to know what CD/DVD drive you have. Maybe you should try to update the firmware of the drive. For some readers of Toshiba and Pioneer, the site shows an update of the firmware. It s worth a try!

And what kind of DVD that you use to create a recovery disk? I have good experience with the types of DVD - R and I use Verbatim.

    @lauriej

I'm sorry that you run also in this issue of recovery disc creation. You can also contact HP Technical Support at the 800.474.6836 to let them know that you have a problem, create the discs. As in the case of the CW4ZNS, the retailer may have created the disk but failed to give them.

You can also create your own disc of Windows 8, however. Perhaps this is a faster option for you.

Download the ISO of Windows 8 64-bit here

ImgBurnto burn the ISO to a disc.

If you need to use the drive, you will have to put the disc in, reboot and press F9 to the power of. Select your CD drive and start the installation. It will ask you the product key, and you can find that on the label of Microsft on the sides or the back of your computer. Once installation is complete, you will need to go to Your HP driver Page to download your drivers and software.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions on this

    Hey @Alessia_to,

Before I provide documentation of troubleshooting, I would like to take a few minutes to welcome you to the community of Support HP, where you can ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I read your post and see that you need help creating recovery disks.

Here is a document for you to read called create recovery discs or record a recovery Image on a USB Flash drive. I pulled some information in the document for you. The first thing that I would like to share with is only DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD + R or DVD + R DL disks are compatible with the design of recovery media program. The next disk types are not compatible with the design of recovery media program:

    • CDs
  • Satellite L350-17Z PSLD8E-0J5032RU same as 0J500GG3

On the support page not found the model:
    Satellite L350-17Z
    ???? ????? : PSLD8E-* 0J5032RU *.

    But the model:
    Satellite L350-17Z
    ???? ????? : PSLD8E-* 0J500GG3 *.

    It's the same thing?

    Hello

Yes, both belong to the same series.
But the PSLD8E-0J5032RU seems to be released only in Russia and PSLD8E-0J500GG3 has been published in other countries such as the Netherlands and the Germany.

  • Satellite L350 - Question about recovery disc creation

    Help, please.

I read in the manual for my new lap top before setting up and feel rather nervous.

The seller said that he had to open automatically when I start it, and all I had to do to install the printer and my word m/s (for example) program and I would be in place and running.

But it seems that I should first do some recovery disks.
How many disks is necessary? DVD no doubt - or D/L.?
The recovery discs are possible after other programs installed?

Secondly, he mentioned the manual online. Where can I find it?
I have a scanner and a Seagate external hard drive, but these can be added later.
I use the laptop as a desktop replacement for my old Mesh PC of five years.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

Yes, it is very important to create the recovery disk before you change anything on your HARD drive laptops.
When you have completed the installation of Vista, you must start the application called recovery Toshiba disc Creator.
This application will help you create the recovery disk.

As I m not wrong not you would need a DVD. I recommend using a DVD-R.

Notes; in some cases, you might get an error burning the recovery DVDs. This may happen because not all drives are fully compatible. So if you get this error please check different DVD from different manufacturers

    Hello

I think it's a problem with your DVD media
    You are using incompatible disks!

Try different DVD from different manufacturers.
I m using the Verbatim or TDK DVD-R and my CD/DVD drive handles these discs without problem.

  • Laptop HP 15-f162dx: THEIR is NO OPTION of DVD FOR DVD RECOVERY DISC CREATION IN the HP RECOVERY MANAGER'S

I HAVE HP 15-f162dx NOTEBOOK PC in WHICH I AM creating RECOVERY DVD DISCS IN "HP RECOVERY MANAGER", BUT in THE "HP - CREATE RECOVERY MEDIA" IS NO OPTION TO CREATE a DVD. EARLY CLAIM.

    CONCERNING

    Ok.

I don't see that as a real issue or problem.  The ability to create a recovery media is part of the purchase, and you do not have the ability to create a recovery media.

Why don't you use the option of USB flash drive?

The USB stick recovery is higher on the recovery DVD disc in a number of ways.

    (1) a usb flash drive are not damaged by just scratching the surface, unlike the DVD in a set of recovery disks. A scratch on the side of disc label #1 and the whole is unusable.

    (2) a recovery, when from a usb flash drive takes less than an hour, so that once made with one set of recovery disks can take up to four hours.

    (3) not all DVD media can be used to create a reliable recovery DVD media.

    (4) DVD media can be easily destroyed by heat, if you live in a region of the world where the temperature is normally high.

    (5) usb recovery media creation takes less than an hour, compared to the time it would take to make a recovery of the DVD disc.

In addition, you can see the Toshiba page for an update of the firmware of your CD/DVD drive.

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite L500-12 q. I used the Recovery Disc Creator to make recovery disks. It needs 4 discs. The 1st was writtenk ok, but on the second, towards the end of the current status, it stopped advancing. It's almost an hour, and it is still not finished. I'm on the second try. The disc is spinning and the drive makes noise as if it was written, but it does not advance at all.

    Please, could you help me?

    Thank you

    Claudiu Hey,.

What kind of DVD that you use to create the Toshiba recovery disks? I got also some problems to create a recovery disc but I changed DVD + R, DVD-r media and everything was ok! I used Verbatim discs to create because I have really good experience with this kind of discs. In addition, it seems that TDK discs also work quite well. Check this box!

If it doesn't work check the Toshiba page for an update of the firmware of your WEIRD!

Y at - there someone who can tell me why I had two recovery disks?

On disk, it is my Vista recovery with all the drivers, after the installation of the system do not ask the second disc. Everything works fine.

I just want to know where the second disc is for. It s a Satellite L350-144

I think that on the other recovery disk there are some applications or other OS (operating system).

Very simple: insert the CD and look at what is on it.

Tell me what do you see on the CD, I'm interested in.

  • Re: Satellite A300 - error creating recovery disc

I'm not really providing any solution, but is facing a similar problem with my laptop Satellite A300-1EI, bought in Dubai, UNITED Arab Emirates. I tried to make records of recovery through Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator. However, each time, I got an error message. I tried with Verbatim, Philips DVD-R and lost several DVDs. Meanwhile on the net surfing, I discovered that the engraver of DVD from Toshiba is a little sensitive and try to use Verbatim DVD - R brand. I tried with Verbatim 2 days and at the last moment when I was about to dance with joy that the first DVD is created, received an error like below

    * "The following issue occurred during the recording of the data of the disc.*
    Current process will be stopped.*

    * A power calibration area error occurred.*
    * Please check if the disc is scratched or dirty.*
    * If Yes, please try again with a new disc.*

    "* (Error code: 0E01B5-26-00037304)."

I don't really understand the message. Can advise you on how to create the recovery disks.

    Kind regards
    Vijay

    Hello

To me, it seems that the used DVD discs are not completely supported by ODD.
It seems to be a compatibility issue.

I had this problem in the past, but I could resolve it using another DVD from another manufacturer.
I had a good experience with TDK DVD-R.
Using the R disk I was able to burn the disc, but using the + R I received an error message.

  • Recovery discs creating problem

    Hello

I just bought a Lenovo 3000 N500 3 DG and I have this problem when I try to create the recovery disks:

I do double click on unity of q, and the system then asks me if I want to do the recovery disks. Then I click 'Yes' and the system creates a first disc succesfully (labeled "disc 1 product thinkvantage recovery"), but then I inserted a DVD to make the second disc and when the system is it creates about 80-90%, an error occurs and the process is interrupted. This error occurs whenever I try to create the second DVD, exactly at the same point in the creative process. I tried a few types of DVD and none of them works.

I think this may be due to a failure of the windows vista software, recording, because when I burn a DVD with Nero everything is Ok and when I try to burn a CD with windows, that an error occurs at the end of the process of the. Could someone tell me how to do the recovery discs?

I also have a second question: the laptop comes with windows vista Home premium pre-installed, and I want to downgrade to XP Professional. Does anyone know if the warranty expires during a downgrade? And if I decide to do the downgrade, then I remove the three partitions (C:, q and S or the S: partittion is necessary for recovering the system?)

    Thank you!

Please take a look at the solution in this post to see if that helps your situation. To let us know.

If you upgrade to XP is not invalidated your warranty, the warranty covers the hardware and not software.

If you create recovery discs for your Vista installation, you can delete all partitions, recovery CD will be recreated them when you use them.

    Hope this helps
