Disc clone utilities?

Hello world...

Well, here's the question:
I have used Norton Ghost 9 to create an image for the c: drive, and a few weeks later I got a disc error that ended up in some bad sectors/clusters.
Can I use the image to reset the system?
The image will try to crush the bad clusters resulting in a useless system once more?
If I get a new image, it will include the bad areas too?
Is there another clone utility that bypasses the defective sectors?

Thank you

Bad sectors are on your hard drive... the image you have is a copy that has nothing to do with bad sectors on your hard drive--which runs the image cannot remove the bad sectors on your hard drive... How you can try to run check disk utility. It uses the window don't not bad sectors.

Make the plan will cause OKR is not functioning properly. To prove this to get a hard drive of exact size and make a clone of hard disk of the device. Remove the hard drive from the unit and place the disc clone hard inside. You can now play with the disk hard clone to your hearts desire but OKR first test if it still works. Even if OKR no longer work, you can proceed with the installation of linux. Once you're disgusted with Linux everything you have to do is replace the hard disk clone with the original hard drive and you're back to win with OKR 8 still works.

The laptop comes with OneNote2003, but I can't use it yet because people ask me the registration key.
There is no software with the key on the Pocket CD because it was already installed on my computer when I bought it.

    Please, what can I do?

    Hello
Your laptop should have come complete with recovery disks Toshiba, a disc of utilities/drivers of Toshiba and diskettes to install for any software supplied as OneNote, works, etc.. The product key should be on the cover of the CD.

If you do not have the CD cover, then you will need to contact the Microsoft customer service to get a new key. They will need information from you about your installation that may involve your access to the registry to provide the GUID of the existing product. Information on how to proceed are on the Microsoft Web site.

Simply connect the player and open the files. Unless you need to write to the disk, you don't need to do anything else.

  • Help please - recover Vista Activation key

The two HARD drives on my son Jonathan HP laptop recently became corrupt and then dead beyond resuscitation (according to two disc test utilities).

A few years ago, we bought the laptop for him.  I removed the wrong drive and formatted backup drive (because there are corrupted files), and since it does not create the rescue disks, I installed my old copy of Vista Home Premium 64.  The computer that I installed initially this O.S. has since been wiped and a new copy of Windows 7 was installed.

The sticker with the original serial number / activation key # on the back of the laptop of Jonathan carried through beyond being readable.  However, the serial number of HP is still readable.

    1. How can I retrieve the original key to the original installation of Vista 64 Home Premium?

    1. work this key with the installation of my Vista installation disc anymore?

    2. If an answer to Q1 is not available, can I use my older disk of Vista 64 Home Premium laptop of Jonathan key successfully can continue to receive vital updates?

    3. If the answers to both 1 & 2 are negative, Microsoft will release a new key/activation code, and if so, where should I go to acquire it?

Thanks in advance for any help on this!

but you must still know the product key

and it can only be installed on a computer at any time

Hi-I really need help here - I recently got my original disc of Windows XP and Dell utility and Disk - The Windows XP drivers installed easily, so when I put the disc dell in for BOOT from the disc, the UTILITIES AND DRIVERS DISK DELL is not reccognizable-It keeps telling me to INSERT DISC when the disc from Dell is already in aid here, everything would be VERY APPRECIATED thanks you

    blueyesguy

Sounds like the disc drivers and utilities, is defective.

All Dell drivers can be downloaded on their drivers and here, download site

    http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriversHome/?c=us&l=en&s=DHS&CS=19

Note: Use Download Manager from Dell, choose the option 'Download' Using My Browser when you select the file to download.

Download the drivers in a folder, you must create on the PC you use, name the folder "downloads".

After that all the drivers are downloaded, plug the USB key into a USB port and transfer the file on the disk, using the Menu "send to".

After installing XP, connect the USB drive to the computer you want to install the drivers on, go to my computer, click on the USB key to locate the folder, open the folder and install the drivers in the correct order.

  • Updated to XP SP3, get the error "Windows 8 Installation failed" and shows "Failed during installation install.wim"

I did all the things that have been proposed in other posts:
    -removed the virus checker
    -installed any software encryption
    -no special disc running utilities
    -Windows Update
    -run the command chkdsk
-clean boot (all the services package disabled).

Any suggestions as to what I can try?

Boot from the DVD Windows 8
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 8 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • 32-bit Windows7 64 bit Vista drivers needed

    Hi all

I'm looking to confirm drivers that need to be used when upgrading a custom install of Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit

My system is a Pavilion a6109n is a 64-bit system

I use vista 64-bit drivers that are the only drivers 64-bit available?

Again something I do not have the HP disk I bought directly at retail.

    Hi MsRoboto,

Your Vista drivers will probably not work. Some of them might, but probably not worth the hassle of trial and error. Since you use complete installation of operating system Microsoft, you would probably be to wipe out all of your existing software and data, particularly since you're going OS 32-bit to 64-bit. Then save info all important first.

Here are the links for Win 7 drivers, you will probably need:

    Chipset

Audio (accept any agreement from Realtek, click Next and then download Win 7 version).

You will also need to find applications such as a DVD player and disc burning utilities. After you upgrade if something does not work well, tell us in the forums and we can help find other drivers or software that you need.

    For reference, here's your specifications.

  • CS6 Fireworks won't let me change the type of

Long story short: until a few weeks ago, Fireworks CS6 worked fine on my iMac, with the rest of the CS6 (ID, PS, DW). The computer started having problems, and I discovered a bad RAM Board which was replaced. So I decided to wipe the drive and do a fresh reinstall of the OS and all software. No problems.

Except this one major: CS6 Fireworks no longer allows me to use the text tool. Try to select an area of existing text, or try to create a new text box results in a spinning beachball.

I use Linotype FontExplorer X. Thinking that it might be a problem with a glitch somewhere in the libraries of fonts (which I had copied on the disc clone I did before erasing), I served them ALL and spent two hours to recreate them from scratch. Then in FW expecting it to work. No change: spinning beachball.

I deleted and re-installed FW completely. No change: spinning beachball.

I went to use FW CS5.1 and it let me not again change the text. Hooray, a temporary solution at least stay productive. However the second time, I went to FW CS5.1, exactly the same problem that manifests itself. Spinning beachball.

I deleted my files preferably of the fireworks at the root level. No change: spinning beachball.

I'm at my wits end. I have work to do! How can I fix it?

iMac (mid-2011) 2.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM, OS Snow Leopard 10.6.8

    I solved the problem.

It cost me money, but I've updated my FontExplorerX software to the current version. Now the Fireworks text tool works reliably again.

I don't know why it was necessary, because the previous version of FontExplorerX did the job well enough, and Fireworks has never had a problem with it before. But after the download, the question which is stopped, so I guess that the upgrade process must be tweaked in the right place in my system to get the FW to replay nice.

Just this ad here on a case where someone else has experienced this problem.

The image of Windows 7 has 2 discs of interest:

C:\ OS (provided slim 30 GB)

Profile of user D:\ (10 GB persistent independent disk)

The issue is that the C drive is 30 GB thin Provision in total, with 6 GB of free space.  I have disabled disk defragmentation, System Restore is 3% (900 MB).

The only thing that is installed are the Windows updates on patch Tuesday.  The programs we use are static they don't really change.

So no new installations of any kind except updates of Java and Adobe.  I have install a piece of software once a year.

Users do not have the rights to install the software on their virtual machine.

I regularly run cleaning disc for drive C, but is that not a lot of space is recovered.

I would like to extend the C drive of the 30 GB, but the option is grayed out for the vPC (see screenshot).

I went into the display of VMware administrator to see if I can expand the C drive on impossible to locate the area where I can expand it.

I do not see the area where I can expand the persistent drive, but not for the OS disk.

The plan was to extend the OS disk, then recompose the specific office according to the needs arise.

Can you please indicate if it is possible to extend the 30 GB VMware View operating system?
This vPC is also a linked clone

Unfortunately Yes. Alternatively, you can create a complete clone of the current state of the virtual machine and use it as a new basic disk. This can not only be faster than to delete all snapshots, but also allows you to maintain the State of the current virtual machine in case you need more later.

  • Using Linked clones with a data disc?

We expect on the creation of our BASE image with a 50 GB C:\ drive.  For the moment, we will not use Thinapp, so the few apps we need for our people call center will be installed on the base image. We also plan to use the profile unit of Liquidware Labs and will use linked Clones.  My question is, do I have to create a data disc (D:\) to install Apps or just expand the C:\ drive?

If the user data (documents, computers of desktop, thems and local profiles) will store locally and needed to preserve for the future and use the redirection of the user's data and set separate drive for this.

In the case where the user data is Vagabond (stored and shared in the Center), then do not use that feature, simply create a bigger drive C.
