• A report on the current record of another report on the same page of filtering

  I have a report on the same page and form in an APEX application. The interactive report is used for sorting/filtering etc. and the form is used to present the data for one record at a time, but also to allow updates in the selected fields. This was done using the wizards, little 'edit' is click on the button to change the shape of the selected record.
  
  I also have (or want to have) a second non-interactive report on the page, which contains some records according to the record of the main report that is currently selected and appearing in the form.
  
  I tried to make a simple 'SELECT fields WHERE the link field is equal to the main report', but he doesn't always says no data found.
  
  Basically, I need to be able to have a query for the second report which says "SELECT those fields WHERE the site is equal to the site displayed in the form.
  
  A click on the button 'Edit' of small pencil/paper on a report, this set some ActiveRow or something like that I can use to filter the second report?
  
  As you can tell from this post, I'm in my childhood skills database and any literature/advice on how to do this (outside MS ACCESS...) would be appreciated.

  We have updated the essbase.cfg and define the TRUE ENABLESWITCHTOBACKUPFILE but that didn't work.

  Also, we have renamed the file essbase.sec in essbase_bak.sec and restarted the service. still no luck.

• VC view all Perrformance - STATS report service internal error

  I just installed a fresh copy of VC 2.5update 4. I use a database remote 10g as repository who seems to work very well, but when I open the performance overview tab I see the following messages:

• Apex slow report but not in dev?

  as the title says I have a problem with the speed of my reports (I.R.).
  The scenario is this: I report with a filter at the front which is not rendered until at least one of 6 possible values is defined. The statement underlying the report is large enough (about 8 tables with millions of rows, but each of them is indexed nicely) so a filter is necessary. The preparation of the declaration, that everything worked perfectly, since each of the given values is a single point of entry in the data model and access roads resulting for the optimizer were always "unique index scan" or "range of index scans.
  Now the problem is that I don't have many of the 6 values the user will now use. That's why I had to make every filter criteria in the statement as follows:
  
  WHERE (customer_id =: P1_CUSTOMER_ID or: P1_CUSTOMER_ID IS NULL)
  AND (= client_name: P1_CUSTOMER_NAME or: P1_CUSTOMER_NAME IS NULL)
  and so on...
  
  My problem is that when the value is giving the execution plan result is obviously horrible. But given that the report is not rendered unless there is at least a set of values, this isn't the problem right?
  
  Unfortunately, Apex doesn't seem to work that way, as it always uses the execution plan that has no values listed. As revealed a SQL Trace.
  Unfortunately, I can work only with limited hints (first_rows and others), since forcing him an index does not work.

  I seriously doubt that you will get the execution plan in SQL Plus. If you add values then this is a diferent request. You must use liaison even variables in sqlplus to compare the execution plan. How have you seen the execution plan in sql * more?

  The problem is not to do much with APEX. For the first part, it's just a pure sql problem.
  However. You could create DIFFERENT reports with different behind sql queries or regions. According to the chosen input values, you can decide what region/query will be executed.

  You can also use different hint in the select statement to force the optimizer to choose a special map, you prefer. But that shouldn't be necessary.

  This is only of a poor workaround, but it might be useful.

  BTW: decode is able to compare NULL values. But point you might not equal to NULL.

• Run two reports, but generate output

  I have developed two reports, one is a detail (portrait style) and another is a synthesis report (landscape). Now, I need to provide an option that will run reports but display the output in a single document (the document must contain the details and analytical content).
  
  Ideal scenario would be to call the report one after the other, but the output in a capture file, but I don't know if it is possible in the reports.

  "Windows problem report is disabled." I can't activate the problem reports and Solutions on my Windows Vista computer.  When I click on "Change settings", I would be prompted with the following message if poster "some settings are managed by your system administrator."  It's personal PC at home.  I don't know how to activate it.  I already went to political group & register to adjust some settings.  But still unable to activate this.

  We lack a very strange problem since a few days now. Our v5.2.0.26 ACS began to drop the connection of wired connections and wireless, with a message "RADIUS request to drop". The detailed message is: "ask RAY dropped: 11051 RADIUS packet contains invalid state attribute.

  This message is usually preceded by a ' RADIUS request dropped: 24444 Active Directory operation failed because of an error that is not specified in the ACS ' error.

  Communication with Active Directory seems to be ok, since workstations receive a valid ip address when it is connected to a non 802. 1 x switch (Cisco 4506) port.

  Please check the connectivity status of AD between the ACS and advertising on all of your ACS (secondary instances as appropriate) servers.

  Users and identity stores > external identity stores > Active Directory

  The connectivity status shows CONNECTED or DISCONNECTED on any of your ACS servers? If one of the servers is showing as DISCONNECTED, what could be the root cause of the problem.
