• Add remote host OME Discovery Range Group

  Hello

  I built a new deployment mechanism for Windows using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2013 servers.  One of the last tasks that I am trying to automate becomes OMSA/OME installed as part of the deployment.  I have the OMSA configured as a task to install and it works great.  The last piece of the puzzle is to put the new server added to OME.

  My question: is there a way to add a new server to a range of discovery remote group so it can be included in the next regular Group Discovery / inventory?  It does not appear that the CLI for OME commands reach the remote.  I spin OME 1.3 and read, it includes APIs of REST, however, I'm not too familiar with it yet and am not sure if the API would provide a solution.

  Anyone have any suggestions to automate this?

• Windows 7 does not see the xp on network machines

  We are a store Dell running XP Pro on peer-to-peer networks... deployment of Windows 7 Pro workstations and laptops. Out-of-the-box, we put it sharing, discovery, working group; etc. However, some of the machines Win 7 do not see network XP machines and thus cannot use the graphical interface to map to different files and resources. You can their ping, set using "Net Use" or "Add a network location" or "Connect Player" as long as you know the complete path (ie: \\server\server_share\home\bill\cad\cnc.) But you can't see them in the network window to map the drive to records letters. I have studied this issue, has visited many forums and talked to many other tech all with the same question. The conclusion seems to be because it is a Win 7 problem not addressed XP came out. So the current thinking seems to be to use the commands Net use in an autoexec.bat file. So to use the latest version of Windows with XP, we need to use commands BACK maps automatically records. A huge advances in technology. Really? Tell us we're wrong and there is an answer?

• Short discovery is a grouping my values? [HELP]

  I started working with short a few weeks ago and I have a question that is bothering me and I wish it had an error in my chart.

  So I created a simple graph where I get all the records in a view and place in a bulk add/replace Records and the graph says it introduced more than 8.5 M lines but when I go to the discovery, the dataset is properly loaded, and he says that the dataset has lines (aprox.) 1.8 M...

  I noticed the view definition is a collection of my primary key, but I find that odd. Is this a normal behavior? I lost a lot of lines and I only did a simple graph.

  I noticed that other graphics (with other tables) where I make some changes and some joints, I get the expected result and the number of records in the dataset is equal to what is given in the chart output (lines 3,4 M aprox.).

  What can I do to prevent this? Is this a mistake on my chart?

  Hi Frederico,

  The attribute that you designate as your Spec (sometimes called a Spec record) attribute must be unique.  It is essentially the 'primary key' inside short.  So you get fewer records because the first record is written to the index and then is crushed by the registration according to that share the same value for the Spec attribute.

  Looks like you just need to generate another attribute in your data that is really unique (perhaps the current plus a number?) to make sure that you do not lose data.

• How can I restore my tabs and groups of tabs after a update to version 36.0?

  I work with many tabs when I use Firefox. I keep classified in groups of tabs, which helps to separate the different children to work I do and interests I have. I have been using this environment for years. When I started my job today, Firefox updated to v36.0, and noted the following behaviors:

  1. There is only one group of tabs when you try to display tabs at Panorama, as opposed to a dozen groups;

  2. normally if the hidden tabs (tabs in the same group as the startup group, and not the default page) downloading of content to what the user clicks on, icon, if any, and the name of the page will show on the tab currently, the tabs display 'New tab' and no icon. It seems, however, the number of tabs that exist across all groups of tabs, but are now ghosts this default value, a group of tabs. I must add, however, I do not count the number of tabs, so I can't be exactly. When you click on it, there is just a blank page. It is so strange that Firefox knows they are there but cannot simply attach the address.

  I tried to restore the following files from my backup of Windows Home Server to the folder AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ .default < gobbletygook >:

  1. in the sessionstore-backups folder, I replaced the files previous.js, recovery.bak and recovery.js (not all of the upgrade ~) with the files yesterday and the day before yesterday.

  When that did nothing, I replaced

  2 sessionCheckpoints.json

  I do not see any file with a recent date that seems to be the one that I have to restore. I should add that I don't see hidden files. I thought about the restoration of the whole of the batch, but didn't know how it would affect the program v36.0 and the profile on 35.0.1 files.

  I have deadlines this week and must immediately restore my environment in order to make these possible. I have no address list on my Web pages to work in IE or other. Any help would be much appreciated.

  On a second note, I had been wondering recently if this tab group environment is an appropriate way to maintain my work environment. Sometimes, during the opening of Panorama, I would get an error saying a script takes too much time, but if I clicked on continue, it would display the groups in a few seconds. I considered bringing it in bookmarks, but it would be tedious and more difficult to access and open several tabs. Initially, I tried tabs groups thinking it was just a matter of maintaining a table of addresses (in tabs) with a name or an ID of tab group. How that might go wrong? Well, there, so it is obviously more complicated than that, and I did not know that upgrades would affect the data of a personal nature. That I should abandon the use of tab groups?

  With the help of information from the user, ptressel, in a post here on the existence of sessionstore.js when version 33 was released, I could easily get my tabs and groups of tabs as follows:

  1. close Firefox and, perhaps, wait a few seconds (30 years?) for any final closing of files;
  2. Check if you have a sessionstore.js file in your profile folder, named as I documented in my original post above.
  3. If this is not timestamped before the discovery of your problem, open the sessionstore-backups folder.
  4. Check if the recovery.js file is properly stamped and, if not, the recovery.bak.
  5. At this point, you are likely to find that none of them is before your problem occurring. If so, open your backups from this folder and go through steps 2 to 4 to find a file before your problem occurring.
  6. When you find a file, copy it to the root of your current profile folder and name it, "sessionstore.js.
  7. Open Firefox. Mine opened upwards as you wish.

  It is a solution for Windows. Sorry I can't comment on other platforms, but I'd bet it's just a copy of file and change of name, it is likely even.

  For Windows users, you can find you must sign out and sign in as administrator in order to access backups. You must not logoff your standard account, but do have Firefox closed as described above.

• Windows 8 - home group network is not possible

  A whole new problem now!

  Execution of two laptops using Win 7 and Win 8, nine only 10 days.
  Had it all set up and seemed OK, but after 4 days I started to lose emails & couldn't find them anywhere.

  Today, the residential group doesn't work - the two machines cannot see each other and the router & printer is found on the new machine.

  As the router is not here I can't access the internet or e-mail.
  I tried to move the home page settings via the Control Panel, but I get a message "homegroup is currently sharing of libraries on this computer.

  Homegroup is not available until the sharing is complete"is on the screen for 3.5 hours and I am unable to do anything at all with the homegroup settings.

  Can someone help me please?

  I think that you must make sure that you ve enabled the + network discovery + on all computers.

  Network discovery is a network setting that determines if your computer can find other computers and devices on the network and whether other computers on the network can see your computer.
  By default, Windows Firewall blocks network discovery, but you can activate it.

  I was wondering if anyone here could be kind enough to help me solve this situation

  I have two machines Windows 7 and Server 2008 machines remember preferences of network discovery.

  No sorry.  There is no possibility of group "fusion".  In addition, discovery addresses are different for servers must be updated.

  I have recently reinstalled windows 7 because that... Well, it was long due, my laptop for about 3 years now and still had the original installation on it.   My laptop is a fujitsu Siemens, I have a Wi - Fi connection with my laptop and Xbox, but have you tried Wired, the Xbox can find my laptop ok MOM, she can't find my cell phone no more.

  I had this same problem where I could the records in the residential group, but when I timed on a nothing was going to happen. Here is how I fixed it... On each homegroup computer, do this: 1) go to control configuration\reseau and Internet\Network and sharing 2) on the left, click on 'Advanced sharing settings change' 3) scroll down until you see 'HomeGroup connections' section 4) make sure that the "Allow windows to manage the homegroup connections" option is checked. (5) follow the instructions to close the session, then it works... In case you're curious, these parameters were also controlled in the House or at work in "advanced sharing settings" - profile market discovery-lit file and print sharing - public folder sharing (not recommended) - connections sharing media streaming off 128 bit-lit hope sharing password protected, this helps!

• Function Discovery Resource Publication "0x80070005: access is denied."

  I started having problems with my group home and found that my network discovery is turned off, and when I turn it on and click 'save changes', there is not.  During my investigation, I found Function Discovery Resource Publication is set on auto but not started, and when I click to start, Im considering the above error: access denied.  I use the services as administrator.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

  I managed to move beyond this error by doing two things:

  (1) open a prompt with "run as administrator" command window and run the following:

  > net localgroup administrators localservice / add

  > net localgroup administrators service / add

  (2) delete all files in the C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking folder. Some files wouldn't be deleted because they are used. I've just left alone.

  I'm not sure if step 2) was really necessary. In any case, after that, I was able to start the service Function Discovery Resource Publication . I changed the start mode of the service to "Automatic (delayed)" as others suggested.

  I agree with Jimnametaken. Since we updated our organizations to Win7 desktop computers, network of navigation is very slow. We have a few applications rely on shared network folders. Since Win 7 these apllicaions fault of left and right. Only way I got to work is by deploying a group policy to delay the start of computer/logon to desktop computers will have enough time to discover the network. It does solve some of my problems. Network slow still hoist/little life that everyone difficult navigation. Most end users think that it's our incompetancy, but it's really from Microsoft.

  Follow these methods in the order and see if the problem is resolved.

  Method 1: Temporarily disable the antivirus software and disable firewall also if all installed and check if the problem persists on the computer on which you are facing this problem with.
