  • Acrord32.exe (Windows 7 and Acrobat cc) breaking, can not save the changes, Windows Explorer crash earlier

Recently decided to upgrade to Acrobat DC after discovering that she will allow me to OCR files that previously forced me to spend of TIFF, and then back.

I downloaded the program and installed today.  I was the conversion of Acrobat 9.  After that I started uninstalling Acrobat 9 Pro, Windows Explorer has started crashing.  I finally restored the computer

I checked the Microsoft forums to see what could have gone wrong, and they seem to indicate that I should run sfc in the prompt, then see if there are problems in the registry. Here, of course, began with today or yesterday (which doesn't make sense - not sure that the report gave me irreparable files, or both fixed and fixed, or what). Other research suggests that I do a disk cleanup, and since then I had the problem of Windows Explorer.

I tried then just install Acrobat DC on Acrobat 9.  This seemed to work properly.  However, now I have problems with Acrobat to crash (although the window remains open?). The message says that acrord32.exe is the culprit.  In addition, a number of my PDF files cannot be replaced - if I want to save my changes, I have to save to a different folder, delete the old file and move the other in its place.

It's basically a nightmare, and I lost a ton of productivity today putting out fires.  Do not have these problems until I started playing with Acrobat.

    Please give me some suggestions.

    Thank you

In fact, I could hope to find the solution on this thread:

Adobe Reader DC contains errors and crashes with Windows Server R2 2012

Going to see how it goes with the preview pane disabled (although she will suck if I can't use TI - hope you guys who patch).

Also, add a folder by the instructions under C:/User / [USER] / AppData.

In the hope that this problem will be solved in between.

EDIT: It looks like it fix the problem.  Acrobat Pro DC now works without any problem.

  • Files dump debugging and log files to install in the disk cleanup window

The two points above appear in my disk cleanup window, and I wonder if it is o: k to remove. The first occupies a space of 283 KB and the other 2537 KB. The description of these two files in the disk cleanup window is "files created by Windows.

I have a second question: I have about 5 GB left as free space on my hard drive of 'C '. If this is considered sufficient, or should I get more? I am a senior retired and only use the computer for basic items.

I have a computer Dell Dimension 4100 with Service Pack 3 for Windows XP - Home Edition Operating System - desktop, 111 Pentium with 930 MHZ, 20 GB hard drive and 512 MB RAM. The file system is FAT 32.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and your response.

"Debug dump files" are copies of the contents of your computer's memory.

When a program crashes, it will sometimes "dump" all or part of the
contents of the RAM to a file on your hard drive. The file is useful to
a technical support person who tries to understand why the program
crashed. (Most of the tech support people have no idea what to do with a dump
    file.)

Unless you have been asked to submit a dump for inspection file, feel free
    to get rid of them.

Setup logs files are "log" installation of a program. If you
Watch a (they are really just text files - open with Notepad) you will have
see that they give a blow by blow description of how the program has been
    installed, glorious detail.

If a program does not properly settled, the Setup log will tell you what that
was wrong. If you have not had a facility wrong, do not hesitate to ditch
    These files as well.

On the question of how much free space on the disk is enough... There is no
standards. 15% of your drive must be empty in order for Windows
The Defragmenter built into the work. In addition, it is to you.

Your processor is another story. It's not easy to find effective security
software that will work on a P3. Even if you only use the computer
for the basic elements, an internet connection is pretty basic for a online
    criminal to find you.

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

If you have a genuine XP installation CD bootable which corresponds to your currently installed Service Pack, you won't get away with instructions to run sfc/scannow.

Windows file protection wants to replace a file of the backup copy he keeps in the dllcache folder and WFP found that the backup copy of the file on your system is not look right, so he complains (there is a list of 3498 files PAM knows).

When you see the original message, if you click Cancel, then choose 'keep' the file afflicted, you will see a warning message, and then a message like this in the case where the system log viewer:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Windows File Protection
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 64005
    Description:
The protected system file taskmgr.exe had not been restored in its original, valid version because the Windows File Protection restoration process was cancelled by user interaction, user name is Jose.  The file version of the bad file is unknown.

As you can see, the file that WFP is concerned is clearly stated in the paper, so now you know what is the file.

For the above example, I used my (taskmgr.exe) Task Manager file to reproduce the problem.  You need to see what your event viewer message says.

When you know what the file is, you can decide what to do about it.  There are probably other copies of the files on your system, or you can get the files from another source.

A shortcut to the event viewer is to click on start, run and enter in the box:

    eventvwr.msc

Click OK to launch the event viewer.

Check your event observer system log and look for a proposed Windows file protection event.

If you double-click on an event, it will open a window of properties with more information.  On the right are black up and down arrow keys to scroll through the open events. The third button that looks like two overlapping pages is used to copy the details of the event in your Windows Clipboard.

When you find an interesting event that occurred at the time of your question, click on the third button at the top and arrows to copy the details and then you can paste the details (right click, paste or CTRL-V) the text in detail here for analysis.  Remove personal information from your information

    Hello

Icons or shortcuts should be in this folder:

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start demarrer\programmes\accessoires\outils tools

If they do not exist, just recreate them. Click on file/new/shortcut and the disk cleanup are a path to:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\cleanmgr.exe (32-bit systems)
    %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\cleanmgr.exe (64-bit systems)

You can copy this shortcut on your desktop or quicklaunch bar for easy access. Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

    Hello

1 were you running the scan of auditor of file system as an administrator?

    2. you have any security program installed on the computer?

    Method 1:

I suggest to perform the disk check and check.

    a. click on Start
    b. type cmd in the start search box
    c. right-click on cmd.exe in the list programs and then select run as administrator. If you are prompted to provide a
Administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue
    d. in the command prompt window, type the following command and press enter Chkdsk/r X:

Note: in this command, X: is a placeholder that represents the drive letter of the volume you want to check.

    a. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.
    b. close all applications and restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, repeat steps a through d for the other volume and then check if the disk cleanup works.

Important: When running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found, all available on which data may be lost

    See also:

You can also try to run the analysis of auditor of files system in administrator mode.

    Method 2:

You can also perform a full virus scan by using the Microsoft Safety Scanner and check.

I suggest you to perform an analysis of your computer online by visiting the link below:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

  • Flow 11: Disk Cleanup Windows 10 Stream

Just finished the installation of Win 10 on my Stream 11.  Had to remove most of my programs to make enough space to run the upgrade.

In fact I decided to run Disk Cleanup to try to regain space. I thought that because I would be able to use HP recovery I could delete the partition hidden also.

Starting with clean disk, including files cleaning system it has identified about 14 GB, which could be deleted, but after the race, it just seems I won, it was about 1-2 GB of disk space.

That's happened? Why didn't a win space identified by the own drive?

I have not deleted the hidden restore partition but as I want to be sure that everything will be OK after I do it. Am I correct in believing that the 7 GB of hidden space is recovering files and factory settings I can use more since I am now under Win 10?

    Hello @RogerM-Ohio,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I came across your post about disk cleanup and he wanted to help!

I wouldn't delete the Partition Recovery, simply because you are currently using Windows 10.  If you encounter a problem in the future and necessary to restore the laptop to factory settings, the recovery Partition will be very useful.  Otherwise, you would need a recovery media.  If you insist on deleting the recovery Partition, then you make a copy first.  Please consult the following documents to help you, if necessary:

HP computers - create and use a Microsoft recovery USB drive (Windows 10)

HP computers - create a recovery Image on disc or save a recovery Image on a USB drive (Windows 8)
