Disks hard Mac Pro goes wrong in a Bay

Hello everyone. I have a weird situation here. I have a mac pro with four hard drive bays. I have replaced three hard drives now in one day, two Bay. It cannot be bad three drives in a row. Does anyone have any recommendations why I could eat hard disks in one of the four bays? This hard drive Bay receives not much used and is usually turned down. It is a Bay for hard drive backup and only runs once in the middle of the night. Thank you in advance.

There are stories about the extra-large readers who do not mate with the harness from the backplane and are invisible. There are stories about the extra-large readers not booting not properly.

He was recently a report on what appeared to be bad bottom of basket Bay 3 and 4 connectors. (Which turned loose connection where the beam of SATA plugged into the motherboard).

But there is no story that I remember on disks in a Bay that worked for a while, then stopped, who did not turn out to be poor readers.

So I hope that you are victim of a remarkable bad luck.

  • Bootcamp only gives me the option to install the secondary internal SSD flash disk. Mac Pro mid-2010

I have a Mac Pro (mid 2010) and spin El Capitan (10.11.5). I have an SSD that I boot OSX of. I have a 4 TB harddrive that store data on. And I just installed a Virgin SSD (same type as my drive OSX) I want to install Windows 8 on. When you run Bootcamp, it only gives me the option to install Windows on my hard drive of 4 TB. He's going right to the start screen of the screen asking me how large, I would like to partition. No SSD is given as an option. The new SSD is shown in disk utility and in the Finder. I tried to format it in FAT, ExFAT, and OS X Extended, but it is not yet appear in bootcamp. I also tried to boot from the installation DVD, but nothing seemed to happen. What should I do?

If the SSD (s) is not connected directly to the MacPro SATA connectors, you will have problems. Of your SSD are supported on a SATA connection?

  • Need to e-mail from an archive of old disk hard mac.

I have a MacPro old tower who died earlier. He just stopped starting upwards. However, I can access the files on the hard drive with a SATA docking station. I am trying to access the e-mail messages that are in the mailbox "Archive". Every explanation I found talking about opening the messaging application and the export of the mailbox. Because I can not boot from this volume, which is not an option.

How do I do to get the stored emails in my mailbox 'Archive' which is stored "on my Mac? Where do they live physically at the level of the viewfinder? How the accessible for the e-mail program on my new Mac? I have a MacBook Pro running Yosemite and an iMac running the Mavericks. I just need to be able to access to archive of one of these machines.

  • Mac Pro (2013) will not wake up from sleep after that put 10.11.2 up-to-date

    Problem:

After that Mac Pro goes to sleep, keyboard and mouse enter don't wake him. Disconnect and reconnect the monitor will not help either. Unplug the monitor wouldn't be helped either. Hotkeys to stop will not help either. (I use Mac since 1986, so I know more tricks). The only thing I can do to start to use my Mac is again holding down the button of physical power for five seconds and make a hard stop.

    Background:

It is a problem that sometimes in the past. However, it is not reproducible and usually one of the steps above might work, such that unplug the monitor (a Dell 4 K 27 ") of the power supply and then plugging.

I use physically connected (USB) keyboard and mouse.

    Current state:

After the 10.11.2 system update last night, my Mac Pro shows this problem every time he sleeps.

He has already hit a critical delivery photography and currently affects a submission of work for the city.

    This is urgent.

Other users have reported the same problem after 10.11.2. I've not seen a solution

  • Extension of hard disks on a Mac Pro 2008

    Hi friends,

I want to add two internal hard drives in my Mac Pro early 2008.

I was wondering if you might have experience with this, please.

There are 4 hard drive bays, of which 3 are already used. I would like to add an additional drive, and I don't know if I should replace one of the existing players or is there another way to add a 5th disc. Is there room for an extra hard drive in an optical extra hard drive that is not used?

This is a 2 x 3 GHz Quad - Core Intel Xeon (2008) Mac Pro.

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

    Bridget

You can add a ssd drive to lower the front optical drive Bay.

  • How can I change lightroom 5 previews smart on the book of mac pro (mbp) when lightroom master image files 5 are on my external hard drive is disconnected from the mbp

How can I change lightroom 5 previews smart on the book of mac pro (mbp) when lightroom master image files 5 are on my external hard drive is disconnected from the mbp? So far when I try to disconnect the external hard drive the mbp, I get the pop following window: "external hard drive A" disc could not be ejected because it uses 'Lightroom '. Exit this application and try out this disc again. When I do that and restart Lightroom 5, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom - screen select catalog appears, but does not list my external hard drive A as a choice.

I've been reviewing Adobe's Lightroom Help | Smart web page Previews Lightroom 5 and still have not been able to understand what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

    HI Thomas,

Thank you very much for your suggestions! They finally gave me the direction I go solve the problems I had. Basically, the Mac Book Pro based Lightroom irdata files still had thumbnails. Once I removed the and redirected Lightroom external hard disk, smart previews of the external drive work when the player is well off the MBP. Much obliged.

I was wondering if you have any suggestions on how to backup all the files content and related data of Lightroom that exists on the external hard drive to another external hard drive as a backup? Ideally, it would be great if I could be able to launch security HD since the Mac Book Pro and do the work of Lightroom with the backup image files and intelligent previews correctly. Thanks again. Your help has been invaluable.

  • Current recommendations to replace my aging STARTUP DISK in my Mac Pro 4-core (mid-2006) 2.66 GHz?

    Hello old friends!

Common sense, to the age of my current BOOT DRIVE (320GB) and the recent difficulties of start-up tell me I should replace the DISK to BOOT in my Mac Pro 4 - core (mid-2006) 2.66 GHz ASAP - in fact, immediately

I do NOT need more capacity.  Currently I have a 320 with 225 available GB boot drive.  However, I do understand that there may be nothing in this range of low capacity available out there more.  I was buy new disks for the other three bays, and they are 1 and 2 TB of disk.

Should I buy a big for my boot drive?  Should I consider a SSD?  I want to less than $100 or more.

Living in a fog of permanent brain due to the M.E., encephalomyelitis myalgic for years and not confident in my ability to pick a player of the moment, alas.

Advice on make and model, the same source, will be more appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Pulls plug wrong Mac Pro?

I use a Mac Pro 2012 environment; run the Mavericks OS X 10.9.5.  I was running "Disk utility" my Mac Pro is stuck in some sort of loop (I think):

    1. the Force Quit option did not work for out me of trouble.

    2. I tried pressing the switch "power", but that no longer works.

    3. I pulled the power cord from the power source.  It worked.  Then I reconnected the power cord and started my Mac Pro using the "switch".  Question: I did a lot of damage to my Mac Pro by pulling on the supply cord to stop my Mac?  Do you think I should buy and install a new hard drive?

It is never a good idea, unless you have completely into it as you were. You left some disk problems, but there is a fair chance to run repair disk will correct them. The best thing to do is restart the SHIFT key now. The start-up will take much longer time than usual, run repair disk, you can restart normally.

    3. Click general, and then click Reset my default keychain.

  • Built in hard drives not recognized Mac pro 2010

Hi all. At work, I have a Mac Pro 2010 tour which has two built in disks, running 10.10.5. Recently, the computer is not recognizing its own built in disks. • Rental short term for the Mac Pro Tower - transplant ramdisk hard

    Hello

I am a composer based in the United Kingdom and use round of mid-2010 Mac Pro 8 Core (2 x 2.4 GHz) Intel Xeon with 64 GB RAM and four SSD drives.

I am going to Los Angeles for a project of long months of work in July and need a same computer set up to use while I'm there.  It's too expensive/complicated to ship my computer to the United States, then I'll probably rent a machine in Los Angeles.

I found in a place that I can rent a tower 2012 Mac Pro 12-Core (2.4 GHz) with 16 GB of RAM, and I wondered: if I take my four SSD drives and my RAM modules, then I simply transplant these pieces into the 12 basic machine and start as my home machine?  Or must I buy an additional empty SSD and use the Migration Wizard to clone my main boot drive?

I've never done this before, so I don't know if the boot drive will recognize that it is connected to a computer with a different motherboard etc.

Thanks for any help and advice,

    Laurent

Change the RAM and the disc should be fine. I would take the sleds with your SSD and just slid the old sleigh and do drag in your.

  • Mac Pro 2013 does not connect to the hard G technology drive

    Hello

I recently bought a Mac Pro and I am trying to transfer files from my hard drive mini 1 TB of G technology itself. The files came from a backup who was recently transferred to my 2011 macbook pro. I tried using cord USB 3.0 for the Mac Pro doesn't have a firewire plugs, but it does not recognize my hard drive. The hard drive is not showing any signs of work because I don't hear the fans turn on the player. The hard drive connects perfectly to my macbook pro via firewire, so should I buy a bolt of lightning for this firewire adapter? I really hope that I don't need to buy a new external, but I'd love to hear a few options for this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards

May be that the USB port does not provide enough power. Sabrina drve is provided with a plug that allows to connect a plug to an AC wall power supply.

It works via the USB port on your MacBook? The USB part is maybe defective.

  • 2007 Mac Pro HD hard drive enclosure?

Hi, I have a 2007 Mac Pro, which I was not able to use for more than a year because my monitor has ceased to recognize it after that I tried upgrading my OS.  It may be a graphics card problem. I do not know.  I didn't spend the money on a new graphics card for such an old computer, and I already have a newer laptop now.

At this point, I want to just put my old Mac Pro HD in an external enclosure so I can hope to access my data again.  I bought a box at Amazon based on previous research, but after the opening of the Mac Pro and looking at the HDs, the speaker, I purchased seems to be quite the size wrong.

The HD is a Western Digital Caviar SE16.  Can someone tell me what kind of HD casing, I can get this would be?  I want to really just to get my old files and be done with the old Mac Pro.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

The Western Digital Caviar SE16 is a SATA standard 3 1/2 inches.

Any attachment for a SATA 3 1/2 inch will work.

    What case did you buy?

Was it for a SATA 2 1/2 inches or the older PATA/IDE drives?
