Disks with files treated as if empty?

Hello. OS - Windows 7 family

I try to open files from a CD that was created from earlier versions of Windows (98, 2000 and XP).  I insert the disc, the drive reads but determines that the disk is empty.  I know that there are some files on it.  Is there a simple solution to this problem in the settings.  I do not understand why this happens, but it's very frustrating please help.

Depends on this program was used to create the floppy disks. If you have used a software like Roxio or the XP CD burning program and use the drag-to-disk need them then you go to this computer, insert the floppy disk and finalize the disc.  Otherwise it cannot be played on any other computer unless it is implemented with the same program.  If you have used a program to burn it as a data disc and did not finalize, you must again go back and finalize the disc.

  • Windows 8 corrupted installation TrueCrypt encrypted another disk with Windows XP

Hello, I need help. I just installed new Windows 8 on an empty partition of the secondary drive.

The first drive I got the previous installation of Windows (XP). Unfortunately, I forgot, this hard drive is encrypted TrueCrypt. Windows 8 now works OK, but the disc with Windows XP seems to be empty. The other partition of the disk with Windows 8 works fine.

I have the TrueCrypt rescue disk and he managed to restore the TrueCrypt Boot, but when I try to start, he writes, that no bootable partition was found. It allows us to decipher the drive and when I start it, it seems to work, but it is too slow and I need to know if this can help. Try to restore a Volume of TrueCrypt header in Windows 8 fails ("way of wrong installation, wrong password or not a TrueCrypt Volume"). Pourrait installing Windows 8 format the drive?

Later: I tried data recovery, and it shows some files and folders http://postimg.org/image/9xt33kmw5/

    Hi Daniel,.

The drive that contains Windows XP displays empty because the file format of Windows XP is FAT (File allocation table) that is not supported by Windows 8. Windows 8 uses NTFS (New Technology File System). I would say to contact TrueCrypt support to check why the description of disk takes a long time. In Windows 8 If you want to encrypt or decrypt the data, you can use bit-locker installation. I suggest you to see the following links for more information on encryption of bit-locker.

If you try to install your laptop computer with the Microsoft installation disc, you need the SATA drivers. You can find it on the Toshiba site.
You must load the drivers of an external floppy drive or you integrate into a new CD with nLite (www.nliteos.com).

For the recovery disc you n t need these drivers because they are already on the disk.
If you get the same problem with the recovery disk, you should check your disk with Drive Fitness Test (Google is your friend).

  • I am wanting to sort a walk down to the granular level and there are folders with files, etc.. Is there a product on the market that can do this?

    Original title: walk sorting

I am wanting to sort a walk down to the granular level and there are folders with files, etc.. I am wanting to sort by date created or modified. Is it possible to set the entire disk for all files without having to open each indvidual folder for a list, or is there a product on the market that can do this?

Sorting all of the drive is not possible. Perhaps, it can be done by another program I'm not aware of.

  • Windows allocate two disks with the same letter

I had a systems problem where the computer would not be arrested because of the computer by providing two different players with the same ID letter ("F") during the race. The program kept asking I have reformat the drive "F". I had a former player ID'd as ('' F ''), I accepted. When the computer has been restarted I had reformatted the bad drive which was not initially ID had as player ("F").

I get a message stating, Windows has assigned a drive letter for the U3 drive that already has another on your computer, or there is no more available on this machine drive letter. Try disconnecting that drives any network that you have connected to your computer, and then restart U3 by double clicking on launch 3. exe or the U3 icon of the CD-ROM system. Once the U3 Launchpad is running, you can reconnect the network drives.

I deleted all the additional disks (4) and restarted the computer and still get the same message with all the drives removed. I followed the instructions as guest above and restarted the computer and still get the same message.

The line above also comes with a troubleshooting option button, but when I select this it takes me to the Web and trying to sell me U3 drives.

    How to resolve this conflict.

Go to start / Control Panel / administrative tools / computer management / disk (with the drive plugged already of course) and make sure that the screen is maximized and then press the PRTSCR button.  Then click on start / all programs / Accessories / Paint and open and right click on the area map and click on paste to create an image of screenshot of disk management.  Enregistrer save as Disk Manager, then select it. JPG file type and put it on your desk at the moment.  Then, go tohttp://skydrive.live.com/ and open a free SkyDrive account if you do not already have one, then add the. JPG file to a folder on SkyDrive.  Click on the file and on the bottom right, it will provide information on the file whose link to access. Please copy this link and post it here in your next reply so I can see for myself rather than ask a thousand questions on what he says.

I don't see how you could have used all the letters of reader available unless you have drives mapped to all kinds of network locations or even just disks, partitions or folders on your own computer (but a lot of them).  How many local mapped make you thing you have (as opposed to say the computer)?  I also don't understand how the system can assign the same letter to two different drives, partitions, networkk places, records or other in all circumstances - something is wrong and I don't know what it is given the information available at this stage.  Maybe see Disk Manager will help you.  Which version of Vista you are using (for example, 32-bit Vista Business SP2)?

    Thanks and good luck!

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • Yet cs4 creates image invalid disk (iso file)

I have a video I change in first cs4, exported a .mpg file I import into encore to create a DVD. This works for the most part very well (I have to delete the .xmp file * before you import it into encore).

Today, I edited the video, re-encoded the mpg file using quality 5 and 2 pass vbr and added a slideshow (6 photos) to the project yet. It relies as well on a disk (iso file) image. But when I try to burn the iso file using windows 7, he said that the iso image is not valid. I tried imgburn and got an error like this:

    session 1 track 1 MODE1... 2054

    DVD format: mode 1... 2048

If I ask for imgburn to continue he then said something about CSS and encryption, which I do not, then I guess that the iso file is too messed up.

I burned a DVD5 directly since again, and it works in a dvd player.

No idea why this iso invalid occurs and if there is a workaround?

Since cs4 is not the latest version, I suppose there is no hope to fix a bug?

avpromedia, as a test, I would create a new project and try a simple test project, or the project there. I don't have a problem with the process you describe and suspect that this project is corrupted.

I've just updated Firefox v 17.0.1 when it restarted a message of Java said permission to work with files has been denied. I have never seen this before. Then I closed FF and reopened and the same message appeared again.
(Note: this message was not there when I 1st FF open before I've updated)

When the message appears, I'm still able to open and use the FF.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile in the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

  • Satellite l.660-12 q - would the recovery disk rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition

Talk about confusion. Does anyone know how to get a Toshiba C660 work after the HARD drive failed and the owner has stupidly NOT followed the instructions to make a recovery disk. Will be the recovery disk (if buy you one from Toshiba) rebuild the new HARD disk with a new recovery partition and install windows 7 (original OS) and accept the product key printed on the Windows license, attached to the base of the laptop. I have read a number of suggestions, but these have been considered incorrect by others.

Surely, Toshiba must have a way to sort this problem.

    They read these messages?

    Hey Buddy

I don't think it's really complicated, that I could find all the information about the recovery procedure in the user's manual

The recovery disk must be created on the first day of purchase its recommended to create one in case something would be wrong with the HARD drive.

The recovery disk contains an image. The image is a package containing Win system, drivers, tools and all the stuff pre-installed on the notebook.
You bought the laptop and the system has already been activated so that you have need of t the key placed at the bottom of the unit.
In addition, the use of the recovery disc formats the drive HARD integer (partitions too) and set the laptop in the same condition as at the first day of the purchase.

There is also another option to recover the notebook called HARD drive recovery. This HARD drive recovery requires no recovery disk. The recovery disc HARD would be to use format ONLY partition C (System).
