  • Add, change and delete the file "iTunes" on a NAS

I have just said "Apple Support Community" by Apple Support.

The title probably sums up what I'm trying to do. I'm looking for a way to add, change, and delete files on a NAS.

Hardware: MacBook Pro 15, 1 TB of storage, 16 GB memory, OSX El Capitan.

NAS: Qnap TS - 453 has: storage nominally 16 TB, up to about 5 TB.  4 WD 4TB disks in a RAID 5 configuration.

a Vaio WIN10 as well as a smaller MacBook (my wife)

The purpose of the NAS is to provide a backup system for computers and act a server "iTunes."

I acquired the NAS after the death of my WD MyBook live in December 2015 after five years of reading backup and "iTunes" to my computer and the Sonos system.

After two months of 'getting to know you' with the NAS, I finally managed to configure the server "iTunes" and Mirabile Indo-European it works!  I'm just doing the SIN to a back-up for computers.

Now for the question: I am looking for an app (for lack of a better term) that will allow me to add and remove files to and from the NAS "iTunes" folder

My search for a solution so far has indicated that:

    (1) NAS' iTunes folder is not really true Apple iTunes and

    (2) I need something that is DAAP (Digital Audio Access Protocol) friendly, that would allow me to add, change and delete the files.that would allow me to add, edit and delete files.

I'm not looking for something that would synchronize the files iTunes NAS to one of my computers, I am all prepared to do myself if necessary.

If I can't find an application so I use the app 'Brute Force' change my Mac iTunes required records and download again to my NAS.

Why do you need an app to put the files in a folder on the NAS Server?  Make them just above in the Finder.  Maybe I'm missing just your problematic here.  Do you mean add your PEMA files to iTunes? I've never used this file format, but kind of, I would be very surprised if iTunes supported it.

the NAS iTunes folder is not really true Apple iTunes

I don't understand what you're trying to say here.  "Apple iTunes" is an application. Yes, a folder is not an application.

Be warned, we see not few messages from people that use iTunes with a NAS. Often the problems cannot be explained. sometimes just iTunes and NAS disagree togther.

  • Smartphones blackBerry BBM PIN change?

    Hello

I am writing today to ask you about a problem I've been for the last few days to my BBM pin code. About 02:00 on Tuesday 2 October I started having a lot of people add me BBM. I thought that someone their posted on facebook and made a typo, then I ignored for a few hours and just blocked everyone add me. He continued, however, and started to become really exsessive (more than 100 people and climbing) at this time I have added one of them to ask the person if they could say their friends to stop to add me and get the person who published it to count the number of correct PIN. He told me that my PIN was a chain email called the copy and the BBM train and stuck in our conversation, it was an e-mail written in Turkish with hundreds of pins BBM on them. I never posted my BBM pin anywhere online before so this was a pretty big shock to see this. My provider is Rogers so I contacted them just maybe get my changed pin code because it is a very dangerous and very frustrating situation. They said that each pin is individual for the device and so I should get a new phone, but they also gave me an email address that did not work to see if you can do something for me. Is it at all possible to get my changed pin code?

    Thank you for your attention

    Erin

The PIN is unique to each device and is not editable by the user. The unit must be sent for renovation in order to change the pin code.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry to take apart and put back together.

No, I don't mean remove the physical device.

My company (finally) made me a Blackberry (Bold 9650) so I could learn to do things like it backup, restore and so immediately and (better) to provide technical support for others.

So, I would like to know:

    1. how to back up my Blackberry?

I have e-mails, contacts and appointments calendar and your Internet favorites.

Would I need (as I believe...) to connect the device to a computer via a USB cable and somehow save these items on the computer?

Is it a synchronization for this software?

    2 restoration

I guess I want to reverse the process above.

    3 secure wipe

Some time ago, in another section, I was told that it would probably be necessary, if a Blackberry into a movement of one BES/BPS server to another, to wipe the device and then turn it back on.

Wipe the unit would, I guess, delete the personal data, hence the master back to the top and restore operations.

What a wipe erases exactly (and what don't we not delete)?

    4. What is (re) activation after a wipe?

Wiping the Blackberry does include eliminating the activation information (I guess for that), it seems that I have to reactivate with my ISP (Verizon, in my case), correct?

Now, I won't do this 3 times a week, every week, but can I reactivate my Blackberry as I want? I just call Verizon like I did at the beginning?

    Hello

Yes, the subject line is a little off the mark! I'm afraid that some people may not even venture into your thread accordingly. However...

Hmmm... I'm not sure on the migration of one BES to the other, but I know that a WIPE has no effect on the it policy. I don't know if the migration to an another BES replaces the policy of IT or not. Nevertheless:

Reactivation as with the carrier. For the Association, is a lack of prejudice no-fault to reactivate with them. Simply dial * 228 and select Option 1 (then again and select Option 2). You don't really have to call and talk to them because your BB is fully registered on their network the first time you activate... on CDMA networks, there is much more "hardcoded" into the network (where the greatest difficulty taking CDMA devices and use them on another CDMA network).

    I hope this helps!

  • Sync of Smartphones blackBerry with vista calendar and address book

Hi, I am new to the Blackberry curve 8310 and Windows Vista.  I can't get my info from my Blackberry to engage contacts and the timing of Vista because it is not recognized by Blackberry.  Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hello. I am afraid that I did not understand all options regarding the synchronization of my 8310 with Vista calendar still; However, I had success sync my Blackberry with Contacts in Windows Vista, the other day.  After you load the Blackberry Desktop Software, go and click on synchronize, and then click the Configuration tab.  On this tab, click on the button "configure Synch... ».  This brings you to a screen that allows you to choose which office program you want to use to synchronize your info.  Select address book and then click on the "Settings" button... ».  Select Microsoft Outlook Express and click on "next >".  Select what kind of synchronization that you want to perform (if you want a clock 2 channels or just for the synchronization from your phone to the computer or the computer to the phone) and click on "next >", and then finish.  Go out and return to the Configuration tab, click the Sync tab and tap sync now.  Even if you have selected Microsoft Outlook Express for synchronization, to synchronize automatically with Windows Contacts for Vista.  (Or at least mine did).  I hope this helps!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones, please advise me if I can use my Canadian Curve 9300 and PlayBook in England and parts of Europe?

Please let know us if I can use my Canadian Curve 9300 in England and parts of Europe... (I have a global SIM card) but do not know if a voltage higher than England could damage my phone and my PlayBook and Mini keyboard. Should I be concerned about the differences in power since my devices are made for North American use, I already plug adapters but without transformers etc.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Real power Chargers you use are the key... look over them and see what is printed on the voltage/amperage/etc. that they can deal with. Compare that to what will be where you will be. If they can manage the power supply where you are, then you will only need an adapter pin and not a real transformer.

In general, the BB devices can be used anywhere in the world with the delivery... loading devices simply to adapt the pins to the area that you are in. As a reference, I used BB devices (although get in the USA) in many many countries, including United Kingdom. But you actually have to look at your exact Chargers to be sure.

    Good luck!

  • Smartphones blackBerry how to back up the data on my curve? Is there a good tutorial on the curve?

I have manually entered the names and addresses on my curve... How do I save?

Is there a good tutorial anywhere to the curve?

    Hi leenet,

Start with the installation of the cd supplied with your phone, the desktop inside software.

    Desktop software does the following:

    Backup and restore

Synchronize (to keep your device PC and BB contacts, calendar sync etc.)

Charger apps if you find a few apps from third-party that you want to load e.g. weatherbug, Google maps, themes, etc.

And Media Manager, allowing the management of media between PC and BB unit.

Here are two links to help you on your way:

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/blackberry101/

and it comes to the knowledge base of Blackberry for the backup:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/articles/853/KB12487_f.SAL_Public.html

I go through the 101 classes and go through the CD that came with your device.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how can I create a new contact from an unknown SMS/text?

Hey.  When I receive an SMS to a number, I don't know how easily I add them as a contact, while in my Inbox, it shows me their names and not their number?  I tried to look on the forums but cannot find an easy solution.  There must be a quick way to do it, no?

    oilersrock99 wrote:

Really?  Because you can easily do it with the curve.  You have to pull up the menu while in the text and select "create a new contact."

    Thanks for the attempt if.

OK, so my OS has been upgraded last night (at v5.0.0.743 v5.0.0.862) and I now have the ability to add SMS numbers as contacts.

So, to add the SMS number as a contact, simply do the following:

In the SMS of the person you want to add, click on the BB button, and then select Add to Contacts. Fill in the details required for the person.

If you do not have this option, then you can upgrade the operating system on your BB. RIM sometimes falls options from version to version of the OS, but return them to the successive versions.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Storm 9530 composition and disorder of speed dial

Today the functions of dialing on my relatively new (Summer 2009) storm started to get strange.  In phone dialing screen, if I press and hold a numbered with a speed dial number, the phone would dial another number elsewhere on the speed dial list (press on and hold '3' fact phone speed dial the phone number assigned to '5').  After the removal and replacement of the battery and restart, the sentence is not clear.

In fact, things got strange.  The phone don't would not dial voicemail when the '1' key was held down (although the list of speed-dial always listed the correct number, etc..)  When I deleted and tried to fill my speed dial list, no number keys on the keyboard would make speed dial in action spring.  But, by pressing and hold the key "3" did make the phone ask if I want to assign a speed dial to the number '5' as if it was the key I had been pressing.

    Suggestions?

Can you tell us what version of the OS it is with?  If it's with OS version 5.0.0.41 9, it is a glitch that some users have reported on another forum.

You can solve it by changing the keyboard of the portrait to the Suretype or reduced mode the keyboard (the one with two letters per key).

I don't know why this is happening, but if you are using OS version 5.0.0.41 9, this should solve the problem.

    I hope this info helps!

P.S. To change the keyboard, go to Options > keyboard/display and change view Portrait SureType keyboard.
