Getting a signal, the photo and the audi on the Media Center once I moved house

I had media center in 5 years on this computer and it worked fine all the time. When I moved to the University, I tried to set up the TV and I am unable to get a signal, an image, or any audio device, despite having paid my TV licence. I don't even have the ability to tune the signal! Can I get some advice on how to restart the program, so I can start to catch up on Hollyoaks:?

Make sure you have a tv tuner, Decoder driver update etc.

If necessary to uninstall and reinstall.

    Hi Carol_971,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. You have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

I suggest that you try to start in safe mode and then try to log on to Windows using the default Administrator account and then remove the password for your account, check if it helps.

Check the settings of language and the region under the Control Panel, make sure that it is there.

You can also try a manual download by pressing 'Download now' tab under tasks > settings > General > automatic download in WMC options.

Make sure that during this firewall or IPSec is does not interfere with the download.

  • I have Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and I tried to run Media Center but I get an error message with ehshell.exe.

    original title: error with ehshell.exe

I have Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and I tried to run Media Center but I get an error message with ehshell.exe. Could you help me?

This problem exists since the 1st Media Center. SP2 and SP3 had a difficulty, but it is obvious that it doesn't always. The same problem still exists in Vista today with a lot of other carried over from XP. System restore would work, but you do not have any good restore points so reinstall an operating system seems to be your only option.

You probably don't want to do an OS reinstall you need for Media Center, but since it does not at all, you might want to play then remove the Media Center updates and or SP3 and reinstall them.

  • Static IP remote access for the media center

I NMH410 work through a WRT610N router.   My ports are configured for static IP access.  Seems to just going through www.ciscomediahub.com does not work well for me.

Can someone provide the 'exact' URL I would enter in order to access my media center?

Documentation of assistance through Cisco shows: https://Wan_IP_Address but that doesn't seem to work.  The demand is just there and finally once outside.

    To everyone:

Apparently, I discovered and corrected the problem that I had with 'Remote access' to my Media Hub.

Somehow, there are two configurations of router that had to be done.  On two port forwarding configurations has been necessary and once allowed me to access the media center.

It seems that my ISP has a 192.168.x.x address router that was different from the address of my router 192.168.x.x.  It is on the home router when I incoming and make changes to the information of port forwarding.  The fact that I was getting an error message indicating that I wasn't even reached my router alerted me to the fact that my ISP was blocking remote access.  In the end, that's where my problem was discovered.

    Translate:

If you have problems to access your media "at a distance" pole through its IP address (and not by the cisco media center), make sure that you configure the ports of the router specified by your Internet provider address, as well as the ports of the router that you have on your network home.

I have forwarded port 443 on the two addresses of router port, and I can now access my media hub remotely.  Now if I can't play videos remotely, I'll be set.  This leads to another problem that I'll send it in another thread.

Thanks for the help and suggestions of each.

  • 0 x 80070011 when you try to add the Media Center of Windows 8 Pro

I am attempting to add Windows Media Center to my installation of Windows 8 Pro but get an error message saying something with evil.  Looking at the logs, I see that the problem is "DoTransmogrify failed due to error 0 x 80070011" which indicates there is a problem with my user directory is on a drive other than the Windows folder.  Since I have an SSD relatively low to start I moved my user to a much larger hard drive folder.  Should not directory junctions work the same as if the file was on the same drive?  Is there a work around short replacing my user on the c: folder?

    Thank you!

I had a similar problem with window 8 RSAT tools that lead me to this post in my search for a solution. I'm not positive that this will solve your problem but it worked for me. Because the Setup program does not seem as follows symbolic links that point to different disks, I simply said the installer the real location of the profiles it is updated during the installation. Open the registry editor and navigate to:

    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
Change the location of the "Default", 'ProfilesDirectory' and 'Public' StringValues to point to the real target of your users path a symlink on drive c. (IE. "D:\Users\*).
    Run the Media Center Setup
Change back the path in the registry.
(I'm not positive that this is necessary, as you'd still have the symbolic link on your C drive as points that anything using this path to the right folder, I just changed it back to %SystemDrive%\* so that I could test to see if the RSAT tools has always worked without the explicit path used in the registry.)
Good luck. I hope this works.
  • Qosmio G20-111: after disk HARD changing the Media center does not work

Hi, I have a WME Quosmio G20-111, after a hard drive, toshiba support center evolution (disc hard bone) in Italy has reinstalled the WME but whenever I try to use the Media Center pc crash and show me a white screen. After several phone call they told me that the problem is that they don't update quosmio drive drivers?
    I'm desperate, any suggestions?

    [email protected]

    Hello

Well, as far as I know that the Qosmio Player has been installed on the partition hidden on the new laptop, but perhaps the ASP is not install this application after replacing HARD drive.

But I do not understand why the missing Qosmio Player should have a bad influence on the media library? MC is a Microsoft program that is part of the Windows XP MCE. Player of Qosmio is an invention of Toshiba and should have nothing to do with the MCE.

However, you can try to install the Qosmio Player and then try to recover the entire operating system with the recovery CD Toshiba original delivered.

    Maybe it helps.

  • How to change for the Media Center guide download time?

How can I change the Media Center program guide download time?  My computer comes out of hibernation to download data at 12:15 and to sit down again it idling (for several hours) until she was put into hibernation or stop.  There is a utility that will change in time, but time is always changed back to the time of 12: 00.  I guess MC changes the time of return.  Thanks in advance.

  • Digital Cable Set Top Box connected to the Media Center computer, forced to keep MC on the use of channels 3-cant TV Guide in Media Center to record

I have to keep the center of the media on channel 3, and the decoder controls the channel I want to watch or record.  For example if I want to record channel 631 21:00 to 23:00 I would say the MC to record channel 3 for as many programs they broadcast between 9 and 23:00.  This process does not allow registration of the MC - guide as it was planned. I have to use the channels on the cable box only and always have the Media Center on channel 3. Is it possible to come back with the MC TV Guide and record by this guide as it was designed to do, while still using the cable set top box or some other Descrambler for replacement by the cable operator?  Basically, the decoder is a decoder which makes us put all our TV on channel 3.  But the cable ready TV I hear do not need the box, they can use another device.  The computer can do the same?  Nobody seems to have no answer to this problem.  Help!?

I read your question. I asked you what happened when running
TV Setup and specifically want to know if the TV Setup detected your set top
Box/decoder and it happened. If Media Center does not automatically detect your decoder,
have you tried the manual method to learn codes? I'm trying to help you

  • White screen when I open the Media Center.

    Original title: Media Center white

When I opened the Media Center, there is a white screen. I wouldn't change a thing and it has worked before. I have Vista 64 Home Premium.

    Hello

I suggest you try these methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

Keep the computer in a clean boot and check the status of the issue. If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem. Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service. After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software

Note: Please go up to step 7 of the Kb to maintain the computer to a normal startup after you fix the problem
