display sleep

I just bought a computer laptop lenovo and fond of her, but I have a problem that I'm not sure, the screen goes to sleep after 5 minutes or more and I need to move the mouse just like a normal computer, I've been in display etc options in an attempt to change the settings, but it always does , its probably something simple, but I do not know what setting to change

Hello

If your power options and screen saver timeouts are set correctly, then you may have a parameter of timeout using the BIOS. This is done when the system is first started by pressing the corresponding key to , and then check the advanced configuration options. See this link and look to the top of the key appropriate for your model: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=YAST-3JWKJX

    Hi SDF15,

Sorry I'm a little late getting back to my answer.  I tried to remove and reseating the connections screen, but had no luck.  Try a few other things, I noticed that when I applied pressure on each side of the switch and moved the display cover in both directions, the problem did not happen.  I ordered a new one from the power button and installed and which corrects the problem.  Search the old of the power button, I noticed that the ribbon cable that attached to it was loose and perhaps has not been in contact with the power button.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Display sleeping all the time

I thought that it was a question of Win7 but Microsoft sent me here. My computer turns off the display within one or two minutes of inactivity. I changed the settings to never. I changed again and rebooted. I changed it to no password required on wake. Nothing seems to affect it. He's still asleep and always requires a password. I got lost.

Is this something proprietary software (which seems to suggest that MS')? Any help appreciated.

UPDATE - I ran a convenience store Windows Power who told me 'never' was too long and "fixed" for me. Surprisingly, after that, my choice not including no password started working.

  • display (sleep setting does not)

Hey I have a problem affecting sleep in my laptop. I PUT THE day BEFORE for "at the end of 2 MINUTES", but the arrival of 2 minutes, my laptop does not sleep. Ive tried several times but still my laptop don't turn to sleep

    Hi SCHAUBER,.

What operating system do you use? Links to documents troubleshooting base with good information on mode 'sleep' and things to check if it does not work:

    Windows 8

    Windows 7

Using a wireless mouse? Sometimes mode 'sleep' will work correctly with some wireless mouse. I hope this helps!

  • display sleep after 1 minute, how can I increase it?

view sleeps after only 1 minute.  How can I increase it?

Some here have the same complaint - usually is that the screen saver is set to one minute and none are selected.     Right click on desktop, choose personalize, and bottom right of the window that opens is the screen saver settings.

Or it could be that your Sleep function is defined on a minute... which these parameters are Power Options in Control Panel.    But you said "show" and did not say that his sleep and the lights will Flash.

  • hot spot sleeping Mac Pro not working

After the installation of El Capitan, I find that I can start is no longer the screen saver slide show, although the hot spot / corner functions properly to begin the Mission control, table edge, Notification Center, office and Application Windows. It also makes display sleep, so everything EXCEPT run the screen saver works.

The version of the OS is 10.11.5.

Open system preferences > desktop and screen saver > select screen saver > do you have the first definition after FOREVER. If yes change in 5 minutes and check the show box with clock.

Select the screen saver > click Preview and select shuffle slide order.

  • Yosemite 10.10.5 sleep bug?

I got a reproducible bug pop up for several weeks I saw a few months ago.

If my Mac Pro mid-2012 falls asleep on his own under energy-saving, or I put on standby for a period of extranded, it will go to the black. But when I try to wake him up to the top... the screen is all 'hash', nothing and the keyboard don't wake him and the computer does not respond to uo wake orders.

I have to physically press the power button until it turns off completely and then restart it.

It starts with the warning, it has not been closed correctly and takes some time to restart.

What happens, why it becomes inadmissible and why the screen is filled with "static/hash" and no picture?

If I put it to sleep and wake up after a few minutes, it seems fine.

Maybe it's a bug with sleep and the hard disk stops after a few minutes of inactivity?

But under power settings I have checked "never" for the computer sleep and display sleep, but have power saving ' also to sleep as much as possible to put"checked.

    Ideas, suggestions?

If you have a model 15 "then see this: 2011 MacBook Pro Extension program repair the graphics issues.

If your model does not have the requirements of the above, then you can consider that there is a software problem. The best way to test this is to install a new copy of Mac OS X on a different disk. Start and use this copy for a short period of time stable if it has problems with sleep/wake. If it is not then you have a problem with your third-party software. You can install one at the time and test each one before installing another.

  • Command delay AppleScript in display-asleep

    Hello

I would look for a way to run a script at midnight - NOT on a calendar. For example, I want to do the following:

delay 10000 -- assuming 10000 seconds to midnight

    activate the application "Notes".

tell application "System Events" to keystroke "Test"

The problem is that when my display sleep (the computer is not sleep), the delay control is stuck. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Are you really sure you want to exit a script running & hope that it will work?

Personally I would forget about the timer, set the script to be triggered by a calendar event instead.

    1. Save the script as an Application in the Applescript Editor.
    2. Add an event to the time you want in the calendars, set an alert, with "Open File at the time", choose custom: & add your script.

I think that the calendar will be reliable Mac hoping moe keeps the running script, it can wake the Mac - I test only.

Calendars also makes it very easy to reschedule.

  • External monitor is no longer wakes from sleep (10.11.2 updated)

I have a LG external LCD - LED group connected to my Mac Pro via HDMI 2013.

No problem with no display at all before sleep... but since the 10.11.2, update it just don't wake up from his sleep and I have to force a reboot. I've since turned display sleep off options and I now use a screen saver protected by password instead (of security) and simply turn off my screen with the power button.

I had this problem too with the Beta 2 and Beta 5 from 10.11.2. Both times I started 10.11.1 Time machine, hoping it would be fixed in the final version.

Before that everyone says, the following link is not welcome... I has not come down in the last shower: If your Mac does not sleep or wake up when expected - Apple Support

It's certainly something that has changed in El Capitan 10.11.2. I now have a beast + $10,000 a computer that can not put its own screen of sleep

Exactly the same problem with my mac pro and panasonic plasma hooked up via hdmi. Worked fine before the update. Now, if I turn off the monitor, I have to reboot to get the screen to display an image, once it comes back on.

  • Random sleep and black - video screens attached number W520

BTW my mobo, cpu, memory I think were all replaced last time I took with this problem...

    Always do consistently:

    www.YouTube.com/watch?v=AvWl9ck26xI

    Black screen:

    www.YouTube.com/watch?v=7A3NqnC80iU

Before I thought maybe its associated Bluetooth that sometimes when the screen turns black, then come back, I would get a "Bluetooth Device not detectable". Then disabled Bluetooth in the BIOS, but still display/sleep problems.

I removed the Lenovo Power Manager/PM driver and off to sleep in windows power settings (in every setting including low battery Action). Any ideas?

I just upgraded to a guarantee of 3 years (the more expensive one), should I just ask to replace mother/cpu/memory card yet or will Lenovo actually test for further questions?

    Thank you

    ARI

So after going to Lenovo, the 3rd time seems to be the charm. They said it was a connector crimped in the laptop, the cause of these issues. I don't think that I had real problems with the laptop from back 2 weeks.

  • How can I leave the program runs longer than the duration of sleep?

I have a desktop Pavilion Elite HPE - 110 t (win7) .  Turn off display & sleep have the default value (10 & 20 minutes).  According to the instructions that I read (somewhere in the paper documentation) when I got to the computer a few months ago, I do not turn off it during the night.  I think included grounds for diagnostics to run (by default grid) & I "think" I've seen (the next day) scans messages, updates, etc. have been executed.  I however turn off my modem to prevent the activity internet auto (anyway) during the night.

This configuration has been satisfactory until this morning, when I tried to leave an app running I knew would require more than one hour to complete.  I had other non-computer tasks to do & did not sit the computer baby to keep him awake.  In fact, I thought that 'activity' (including the activities of memory without keyboard activity) he would keep awake.

To my surprise when I got home 3 hours later, treatment stopped about 45 minutes after the start.  This was determined by the timestamps of the output files.  Normal processing resumed after that I have he awakened from his sleep.

Is there a way (outside change go-to-sleep time setting each time) to allow work of long-term programs/application to keep running & to go to sleep after the treatment is finished? Am I wrong to think that 'auto diagnostic' are running when the computer & I sleep at night?

    Thank you

The process will continue even after the monitor goes to sleep.

I first noticed this problem when you make copies of images hard drive hard drive.

As the title says, I set automatic standby after 30 minutes of idle time of the computer, but it only works when I'm on the desktop, if I'm not connected (lock screen), auto sleep does not work, how can I solve this problem?

  • HP 10 G2: Eve of the screen is not together

My Android Tablet keeps back sleep after 15 seconds on inactivity. Will define no higher.

    Hi there @rfdguy1949,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that your tablet is not either remember or know the parameters of your sleep.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

You can check under settings > display > sleep and see if there is the possibility to 'never '.

If this option is not available, you can try settings > Developer options > stay awake. This will keep your Tablet awake while it loads. This could be useful if your Tablet does not support the screen timeout '' never. ''

Note: If you don't see Developer options in settings, it may be made available by going to settings > topic > Build number. Developer options must appear after typing the number of version several times.

Please let me know if some of these work for you and if it doesn't solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.
