  I checked the reported compatibility list, and the game is listed as compatible.  Work in 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7?  I will try to reinstall the game, if you did an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 recently.  If it is a new installation and does not, please visit the EA's Web site to get the latest patch for the game to see if that helps address your problem.  Let me know if you've done all that and you still have questions, and we can try something else.

  The answer depends on what type of element you want to pin.  The only type of element you mentioned being a folder, you can easily do what you're wondering now and does not need to wait for a later version.

  In the 8 Windows desktop, when you drag an executable file (or shortcut) on the taskbar, a message appears that says "PIN to the taskbar.

  If you drag a document file (or a shortcut), the message will say "pine [associated application]"-in other words, "[name of the default browser] pine" for a html, "Pin to Notepad" file to a txt file, etc..

  For a folder, File Explorer is the associated application.  Therefore, if you open a file Explorer window, look for the desired folder and drag it to the taskbar, the message that appears is "PIN to the file Explorer."  Just click on it, and it will appear in the jumplist FE, above the frequent places, in a separate section called "Pinned".  You can drag things and down from there to order at your leisure.

  (The Control Panel, even if it is displayed in FE as 'File system', only let you pin on the desktop, for not not FE jumplist.)  There may be other special cases like this; I don't know, but it works usually as I've described, including for other system folders.)

  Just to be clear, I am a new user of Windows 8, far from being an expert.  I only know how it works because I heard today by trial and error.  So there may be more to what I can't help with.

  I tried the solution as Kipp Ky\'Eva posted, but I couldn't find an option to "Gather Windows" (after I plugged my second monitor, I saw that this dialog box was also off the screen).

  I found another solution that worked for me however:

  Go to System Preferences > monitors.

  Click on "scaling".

  Note the screen resolution you are using.

  Change the resolution of the screen to do anything and then change back to your original setting.

  For me, that reset the screen with all the windows in their places.

  You listed the correct version of the OS.

  The good news is that you have the most available from Verizon updated version.  The bad news is that OS 4.7.0.148 version still has this as a question in there.  Most of the time when you type, you'll notice that it works very well, but every so often, he did exactly what you said (I had this problem on my phone avec.148 as well).  There are other versions that do not have the same problem, but they are not official for use on Verizon right now.

  As a result, there are really a couple of options you have here:

  1. Ignore this... it is quite normal and does not affect the operation of the device.  You can expect that Verizon upgrades the operating system again.  In the meantime, play with the settings you have until you find the one you prefer.
  2. You can install an OS that has not been made official on Verizon.  Note that you only do so if you are uncomfortable, upgrade and downgrade the operating systems on your phone and as long you understand that Verizon provides no support for the software they had not approved.
