Distortion of color in Windows Photo Viewer

In the last few weeks I noticed that when I go to see a preview of a picture using Windows Photo Viewer, it has a tinge of yellow/orange in it and because of this I don't really see that are the colors of the image. This happens with every photo I discovered without worrying about its format (jpg, gif, png, etc.). I am able to see the photo in a slideshow with its normal colors and open the image in another program (for example, paint or Gimp) displays the image normally as well. Other colors properly on my screen as well (nothing seems out of the ordinary) until I click on an image to preview.

Here's what I see: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353/Kuuchan/distortion.jpg
The photo looks like: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v353/Kuuchan/Picture003.jpg

Any help is appreciated

I am running Windows 7.  When I print a document on the web, it prints in color.  If print it by using the default program (Windows Photo Viewer) it prints in grayscale.  Have checked all the settings, but can't seem to find what is causing this problem.  I tried printing from other programs and I don't get color.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi epse30,

In Windows Vista Windows Picture and Fax Viewer has been replaced by the Windows Photo Gallery and there was an option to set the brightness, contrast, etc by using the Fix as you said.

Unfortunately, this option is not available with the Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 7.

    However, Windows Live Photo Gallery has a number of easy to use tools for things like red eye fixing or clearing exposure and low light situations. Windows Live Photo Gallery gives you more creative control over your photos. You can download Windows Live Photo Gallery for free from the link below;

  • Strange tint Windows Photo Viewer

I had a problem with the Windows Photo Viewer. Whenever I load an image, the entire window, image included, is given to this strange beige hue. It is the only program where it happens. The thumbnail is color correctly and it is coloured corectly seen in a slide show, but not in a preview. That seems independent of all the moniter settings or custom window color settings. Any ideas?

  • Windows Photo Viewer shows the files blank JPEG thumbnails (inside folders) poster white icon, already tried a lot of Solutions - please help! S.O.S.

    Dear all,

    I have this problem:

All JPEG files are normal, I tried to open with the help of Adobe Photoshop CS5. But if I use it to watch my files, it takes too long to load.

This is the case if I try to open them using the Windows Photo Viewer:

It's when I try to open it with Adobe Photoshop CS5:

So the file is fine, they are non-empty JPEG.

The difficulties I've tried before posting on the forum:

    - Fix it with Microsoft to photo viewer

Fix It for animals works well and could not find any problem though, so nothing is fixed.

    - Removal 'External event AMD' Service

    Nothing change

    - Removal of color for the monitor profiles

    Nothing to change also

    - Updated all the drivers and windows

    Nothing change

    - Boot in Safe Mode

The thumbnails are displayed correctly and "Windows Photo Viewer" display my images perfectly well BUT...

    - Start in Normal Mode with all the Services of persons with disabilities (except Microsoft)

The problem happens again, that the thumbnails are blank and the images also.

    - Cleaning disc (with checked "thumbnails")

    The problem still exists

    - Set programs "Default" for the Windows Photo Viewer

    The problem still exists

    - Run SFC/scannow From The Command Line

The problem still exists, and the SFC somehow told me that my Windows is fine

    - Removal of hidden miniature manual

    The problem still exists

    - Windows Live Essentials installation and use the 'Photo Gallery'

Photo Gallery crashes all the time after asking if I want to associate files "JXR" or not, but I'm not on this topic, but this does not solve the problem.

I tried every step, I have found on various types of forum, but not the last magic: Reinstall Windows, I really want to solve this problem without cleaning Windows installation if possible, and I'm so in love with "Windows Photo Viewer" because it's simple, fast, and it is very precious to me. I tried free viewer and FastStone Image Viewer but is a bit complicated, controls are small and it always comes out in full screen, I need this so baaad.

    Hello

I had some files in my recent windows 7 the name of the color of my files and folders become green but I didn't know what happens later.
After awhile, I changed my windows and I install the same windows 7 86 x just like before.
I can't open these files that retain the names of Greens.
These files are almost JPEG and PSD(Photo shop).
I can't copy, cut. name change. delete, then open them with any computer, such as windows photo viewer software, photo shop, see ACD and other software.
I surfed on the Internet and someone said that there is a software which is $ 26 but there is no guarantee that it works and files could not be opened.
someone said your question to help Microsoft because they are the only one who have the codec for this file.

  • Windows 7 do not apply ICC profile in Windows Photo Viewer

I calibrated my screen and I am convinced that my ICC profile is correct.

When I'm viewing the photos in Adobe Photoshop or lightroom, the color profile is used.

    Hello

This happens with all types of files, specific file types or specific images?

The color profile backup and then try to delete the profile and return to the default value.  Then try to create a new with quick settings for test purposes and check if the profile is active or not in Photo Viewer.

b: then right-click on the ICC (International Color Consortium) profiles, then copy it and save it.
c: then type color management in the search box start and press ENTER.
d: now click the Profiles tab.
e: now click on ICC profiles and then click on remove.

  • Windows Photo Viewer does not properly after installing Spyder 4 Express

I installed Spyder 4 Express.    Open photoshop and got message this - original use - incorrect color profile so used original and all the images look OK.   But the photos opened through Explorer files (correct thumbnails), but when I preview with Windows Photo Viewer, the images are all very tinted orange.    I then removed Spyder 4 Express hoping to remove the colour profile info, no luck.   All other photo in other software and wallpaper moniter views are correct.   What should I do to correct the display color in the Windows Photo Viewer.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your concern on the forum.

According to the description of the question when you preview with Windows photos Photo Viewer are all very tinted orange. Maybe this is a chance that display drivers are getting corrupted or need to be updated.

As you are referring to the Windows Photo Viewer, I suggest you to check the Windows Photo Viewer is defined as program default for Open the images. You can follow the steps mentioned below to check that.

    1. Press on the the window key + W.

    2. In Search box type in default programs , and then press enter.

    3. Click on Sand your default program.

    4. Now right-click on the Windows Photo Viewer, and then select set this program as default.

For more details, you can refer to the following Microsoft article mentioned.

Choose the apps Windows uses by default

If the problem persists, try to update the drivers and install Windows updates. Drivers are updated occasionally. Windows can update automatically, or you can install the drivers updated yourself. It is important for you to have confidence in the updated drivers that you install. Windows warns you if it detects a suspicious or dangerous driver, you should not install.

    Download and install the drivers

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

    Hi all

My C650 is a new purchase and so far I was not able to view photos; on a memory stick, in "My pictures" or any form using the Windows Photo Viewer. Once I double click the photo icon, the image enlarged to full screen and freezes at "loading" is displayed.

Initially, Windows Photo Viewer is part of the operating system, but Microsoft's move into the Windows Essentials Application. I'm linking you to the site that you can go to download and install Microsoft Windows Essentials.
