DL380 G4 and 64-bit clients
Hi all
I have converted just invited Ubuntu 8.04 LTS 64 bits on a hosted on one server ESX3.5 DL380 G4.
The conversion went well, but when I tried to start it up, I got this error.
{color:#000080}"This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i1586 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU."+ I presumed it was due to the fact that support for Ubuntu 8.04 LTS 64bit was for added in "Update 4", and we were still running "Update 1". {color}
So I went and updated the "Update 4" ESX Server, and now when I try to start the virtual machine, I get this error.
Host CPU is not compatible with the requirements of the virtual machine to CPUID...
It would seem that it wasn't the version of ESX being the culprit of the CPU error update.
After doing some research, I met this page, claiming the Proliant DL380 G4 will run a 64 bit OS, but does not have a 64-bit host in VMware.
http://blog.netnerds.NET/2009/01/HP-DL380-G4-and-VMware-will-not-run-64-bit-virtualized-guests/
Can anyone confirm whether this page is right, and the Proliant DL380 G4 won't run a 64bit guest OS. I don't want to base everything on one page found on the net by someone I've not heard of. and would be happier with a little confirmation from the good people on here.
Cheers Carl
Series HP G4 servers will not support 64-bit vm, this rev server doesn't have a VT...
You will need at least a G5 to the 64-bit guest OS support...

Windows 7 64 bit and the need to install 32-bit and 64-bit client for Oracle 11 g
Hello
First of all, I'm sorry to ask what is probably a common response to the knowledge of most in the forum. I can't find a straight answer, the search of these forums or via google.
We have Windows 7 64 - bit in our next update office. We have several Oracle databases, and all client software in our environment is 32-bit.
I want to try to be at the forefront, so I want to deploy the latest version of the client 64 - bit 11 g instead of our current client (10 g 32-bit).
The simple question is this: can we actually do with our suite of 32-bit applications or do I need to install the client for 32-bit to 32-bit applications side-by-side with the customer of Oracle 11 g 64 bit for future 64-bit clients?
For the future that, if I do, then someone good instructions on this? I found an article about it, but it seemed personal and made use of the mklink command, so I have my doubts it is correct.
Thank youI think that you need separate 64-bit and 32-bit clients

Oracle 11 GR 2 64 bit and 32 bit client together?
Hello gurus, a question for you...
We install FINS 9.1 on tools 8.51 on Windows 2008 and with Oracle 11 g 2. Our issues, that's the best configuration?
-client 64 bits and 32 bits 11 GR 2 (for application / batch server)? It would work in reality?
-GR 11, 2 (even if she is not certified) 32-bit?
I would gladly appreciate advice or comments. Thank you.
AndyYou will need to install Oracle 64-bit (for database - database of 32-bit software installs not on a 64 bit OS), and since you are on Windows, you also need Oracle 32-bit client (unlike the previous version, there is no 32-bit libraries shipped in 64 bits 11 GR 2 database software). It is fully certified and works very well.

Can you install Oracle 11 g 32 bit and 64 bit clients on the same machine AIX 6?
We have a supplier who needs a 32-bit client on the application server which is AIX 6. We already have 11g 64 bit client installed there. So, we can install both or I am interested in a the first 64-bit client deinstall?
Yes you can, please check the documentation: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24334/toc.htm#CHDIGJJB
From Oracle Database 11 g Release 2 (11.2), the client software 64-bit does contain the binary 32 bits client. If you need the 32-bit client binaries on 64-bit platforms, then install the 32-bit binaries from the 32-bit respective client software in a separate Oracle home.

Get ROracle run when the 32-bit and 64-bit clients are installed
Hi all
I use RStudio with R 3.01 (64-bit) on a 64-bit Windows 7 installation. I am able to load ROracle when only the 64-bit Oracle Client is installed.
Unfortunately, I have to use client 32-bit for another program.
After that I installed the two clients I can't load the library ROracle more in R.
The error message is:
Error in inDL (x, (local) as.logical, as.logical (now),...):
Unable to load the shared object "C: / Program Files/R/R-3.0.3/library/ROracle/libs/x64/ROracle.dll":
LoadLibrary failed: %1 ist keine zulassige Win32 application.
Error: Laden von Paket oder Namensraum as "ROracle" fehlgeschlagen
I put the two paths of my environment:
"C:\oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1\bin; C:\oracle\product\11.2.0\client_2\bin; »
Could someone give me an indication of what I might try to make it work?
Kind regards
ULI
ULI,
The error indicates the oci.dll loaded path by R does not correspond to the same architecture as R. To resolve this problem, set the PATH to include the 32-bit version of the Oracle Client 32-bit version of oci.dll is necessary and the 64 bit version of the Oracle Client 64-bit version is necessary. The required version must first be in the path, it is recommended not to have only one version for each architecture in the path.
Kind regards

Hello
We are trying to do a fresh install of Oracle Hyperion EPM 11.1.2.3 on Windows 2008 Server R2.
Its a standard deployment with a Foundation Server and an Essbase server.
When you try to install on the server of the Foundation, the EPM System Installer fails to install Oracle database customers.
The first Question we have is, we have decided using Microsoft SQL Server for the repository of Shared Services and therefore would like to know if it is safe to ignore this error and move on.
The second question is, if we need the error pending, we want to know why the installation system fails. Looking at the newspaper, ORACLE_HOME is on something that is not valid or is longer than 128 characters.
The Diagnostics show the below error message:

The ORACLE_HOME_NAME is the question.
Our deployment account has a hyphen -, and so the Yes program is unable to initialize.

Oracle.Dataaccess.dll using unmanaged for 32 and 64 bit Winform application.
Hello
I am new to oracle ODP.
I have a few questions about her.
1. If I give the reference only and do not include gac Oracle.Dataaccess.dll (suppose 2.11.3.XX) in my project and the client system has the access.dll of oracle version 2.11.2.XX(or autres) then what happens?
Be it use the 2.11.2.xx DLL to GAC or error.
2. I need to create some app for 32 and 64-bit client then should I develop a version for two separate, or are there other alternatives (I can't use the managed oracle DLLS due to .net 2.0).
I've already lost two days on managing versions of oracle as oci.dll ddll, oraop11s.dll etc.
Please suggest any other alternative if you have
Thank you
I think that if you run an application on machine Win x 64 with AnyCPU, 64-bit .NET will be always charged. I don't think you can change this even if you try to load a 32-bit DLL. There may be a way, but I do not know myself.
If you ODP.NET 11.2.0.3 on your system, I don't see why you need to install an earlier version of ODP.NET, such as 11.2.x

Oracle Client 32-bit and 64-bit in the same Linux machine
Dear,
I have installed Oracle 64-bit server in my Linux box. The 64-bit client is sure to be installed also. But for some reason, I need to install the 32-bit client on the same machine and do the job as well as the 64-bit client.

Are both 64-bit and 32-bit Oracle on the same computer? It is where PTools 8.5 x is confusing so far. It is 64-bit capable only, but on Windows, to Oracle 32-bit libraries to run the client (Appserv, CRP, AppDesigner, DMS). It will be fixed within 8,53 PTools where we will rid us off the coast of the need for 32-bit (particularly embarrassing for Appserver/CRP on a server). So far, we will need both the server, 64-bit managed to be the server, 32-bit has managed to be the customer. Overall, it makes the image even less clear.
In this case, make sure that the PATH variable contains the correct sequence (64-bit, 32-bit server server).
Basically, the variables ORACLE_HOME and path must be changed before using one or the other House.
If you want to use a connection with a server, the home64bit value, this should work:set ORACLE_HOME=
set PATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\bin:%PATH% set ORACLE_SID=mydb sqlplus / as sysdba If you want to use a login as a client, the home32bit value, it should work:
set ORACLE_HOME=
set PATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\bin:%PATH% sqlplus sysadm/sysadm@mydb Nicolas.

VT turned on in the BIOS and still not possible to 64-bit clients
Hello
I use a laptop HP 4710 s with this processor:
Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo P8700 CPU 2.53 GHz
This CPU is supposed to have VT I enabled in the BIOS. / proc/cpuinfo shows the vmx extension. I'm still not able to use 64-bit clients. VMware server 2 logs show VT is not enabled in the BIOS, but it is.
I then tried the VMware CPUID utility and it also claims that VT is not there.
You think the issue in the BIOS? Or VMware products?
THX!
B.
I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but do you have off the box and then on it back since the change in the BIOS? I've never had to do that before any time I activate VT myself, but who knows... What host operating system running on the HP? It is 32-bit or 64-bit?

Windows 7 Professional 32 and 64 bit - Español Version?
Hi, I'm dealing with a customer who asks a Spanish version of windows 7 computer pro for her new laptop that has a product key Windows 7 Pro OEM sticker on the bottom. It is currently installed in English and it is curious to me and an intern I'm curious at all ya'll just if it is possible for a drive to be manufactured and installed and authenticated with its key - if a Spanish version .iso file for windows 7 Professional 32 and 64 bit is downloadable and power be made / work with its key
(would be nice to have versions 32 and 64-bit for future clients that I live in an area densely populated with Spanish / Español speakers and readers as well as a request similar to this one can be born even earlier I think).
Does anyone know if this version of windows 7 Professional is? And if it is possible please post the links to download the files .iso for them so I can download and make the drive for the installation? Thanks for reading/research.
Sincerely & direct them best.

I have a running 7.2 ASA5510 (1) 19 and ASDM 5.2 (1). I anyconnect-victory - 2.2.0133 - k9.pkg installed, but 64-bit clients cannot connect to it.
64-bit clients connect and they float on a portal and the customer will not be downloaded. 32-bit machines download the downloaded client.
Any thoughts?
Thank you
The customer connect everything requires ASA 8.x and not 7.2.x. Please take a look at this link:
http://www.Cisco.biz/en/us/docs/security/ASA/compatibility/ASA-VPN-compatibility.html
I'd say go to 8.0.3 (or later in this course).

Install the MDW and the mobile client on the same platform
Hi all
We implement our 11g Oracle Database Server from Mobile environment and I was confused about something I read in the Release Notes (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22663_01/doc.11100/e22675.pdf). In section 3.2 says 'do not install MDW and the mobile client on the same platform.' Did mean really say 'platform' or does really do not install the MDW and the mobile client on the same device? We are a store of Windows 100% - the mobile server is installed on a Windows Server machine, we plan to develop with Workbench Mobile database (GMD) on a Windows 7 desktop PC, and we intend to run the client mobile Windows 7 tablets. The Release Notes say that I can't do this?
Yes - the way it is written is a bit confusing. We will correct it in the next version of doc. What we were trying to say, is do not install them on the same system. Thank you for this comment.
Kind regards

As I said, I have both 9.0 IE 32-bit and 64-bit IE 9.0 on a 64-bit Windows 7.0 system.
Which Adobe Flash Player I have to install?
Versions of the-32B and 64B?, or just 64 - b version works in both?
Hello
Flash supports 32-bit and 64-bit player in a single, Universal Installer. On a 64-bit operating system, Flash Player installs both and the client (for example the browser) selects the suitable for use. If you use THE 32-bit, it will use 32-bit Flash Player. If you are using IE 64 bit, it will use 64-bit Flash Player.
