DMA 2200

Hi people, I am planning to buy a Media Center and run Extenders throughout the House.

I have some basic questions that I'm not sure, and I hope you can help me:

(1) DMA2200 how I can conenct to MC?

(2) is the DVD multizone or a single area?

(3) can I stream live TV from the TV Tuner that is connected to the MC? What happens if I want to watch 2 different channels via 2 extensions?

(4) Anyspecfic Pro/cons for DMA2200 you can think?

Thank you very much

(1) DMA2200 how I can conenct to MC?

I don't know what is the upper limit, but you should be able to get 4 or 5 past without problem.

(2) is the DVD multizone or a single area?

Simple area, apparently, and it is no easy to get around this hacks. Except for the obvious to rip the DVD to the hard drive and play it from there!

(3) can I stream live TV from the TV Tuner that is connected to the MC? What happens if I want to watch 2 different channels via 2 extensions?

Yes, you can watch live TV on your extender. You can watch different channels as you have tuners in your machine VMC.

(4) Anyspecfic Pro/cons for DMA2200 you can think?

Only the price. Unless you need the DVD player, or audio of TOS link, the DMA2100 is a more convenient box. If you need multiple areas, then you'll end up ripping the DVD anyway and using one or the hacks to make them sink to the Extender.

  • DMA 2200, certificate expired, that is the problem?

As requested in another post I have problem to connect my DMA 2200 on my Win 7 pc.

Now, I discovered that the certificate that is created during installation is ancient, as in a year.

Win7 treats the old certificate diffrently then Vista.

I am sure that I have the traffic between the extension and the PC, the PC detects the Extender, but for some reason any installation get a time out.

So the question is all the old DMA 2200 certificates, if you check your what you have?

    Beginning

MMC, 2200 certificate is located in the PC folder.

I guess I'm wrong, but I don't know how to work certificates and that the effect of dear old, but they must be there for a reason any or?

He wasn't certificate problem, but still the certificate is old... but now I got it to work and it works very very well.

    * experience beep * Windows 7 is what you wanted, when you purchase the Extender in the first place.

  • DMA 2200, damaged CD

Any idea where I can get the program of installation/drivers from?  I can't find them on the Web from Linksys website.

    Thank you

I installed this update from Microsoft (see below). Then, after you type the eight-digit code, I have increased the priority of drvinst.exe via the high Task Manager.  It is installed.

I realized that windows was still looking for the driver library expired with the error.

  • DMA 2200 - Extender communication error

    I get this error message:

"Connection failed - the Extender could not connect to the windows media center computer.  "Turn your extender off then on again and try to connect again.

I can see the extension on my network, I can ping the device, can I use remote desktop from another computer and remote in the media center pc (old Extenders used remote desktop connection, I guess the new ones work the same way).  The media center PC has also disabled the windows firewall.  I used the linksys CD to install the updates on the media center pc.  The media center PC has a static IP address assigned.  I use a wired connection instead of wireless.  I have not all devices of fingerprint authentication.

I don't know what else to try.  I called Linksys support and they escalated the issue to the level 3 support, whatever that means, IT WAS (4) DAYS and they have not returned my call.  I called Linksys everyday and they say that someone will get back to me shortly.  Amazing!  I just want this work, I came so far.  Suggestions, please?

    Thank you

    Steve

I actually found the problem.  I didn't have an internet connection on the computer.  I guess you need a internet connection for windows (or linksys) 'phone home' and make sure that the copy of windows is legal or something.  After that I turned on internet connection, everything worked.

  • DMA2200 and Windows 7, problem to connect

    Hello

I used the DMA 2200 per year + with Vista 32-bit, version of PH, with no problems (major...).

Now I have a new install of Windows 7 64 bit, also Home Premium edition.

It seams like there is a connectivity issue between the DMA and PC.

PC detects the DMA and I start configuring the Extender, it works fine until the Extender needs to connect to the PC (according to the user interface, get a warning and error in the log events for the Media Center, have not found a page to decode, but I think it's a timeout).

Someone at - it had the same problem and found a solution or have any idea what to do.

Now I have to move my old Disc (via BIOS) Vista (recorded the Disc boot... * beep * chance) and between the new disc of Windows 7.

    Finally managed to do work.

I guess that something wnet wrong in the initial configuration.

Noticed that when you run > netstat - a

port 3390 was not included in the list.

Removed the user from the Extender, changed the name of the computer, etc. etc. (do not know what solves the problem), but suddenly the port 3390 was in the list (I think it's the port where Extender tries to connect to the PC).

Now the Extender installed smothly and * beep *, now the Extender works really well, faster then with Vista, this is how it was supposed to work initially, when the extension has been put on the market. Unfortunately I think that extenders have a difficult time in the market.

In any case, I am very satisfied with the Win7 - performance of the Extender.

  • WRT610N Self reset on own

    Hello

I have used linksys for several years and most of the time always happy but this new unit price starting to upset me. I have a WRT610N new from BestBuy 'two weeks old' because my house is heavy wireless WEP 64 (old XBOX, XBOX 360, 2 x 2200 DMA, Wii, mobile phones x 2, 2 x workstations) 1 Lan server.

Twice I looked up morning to use an element and there offline because the SID has changed the owner of "Photon" until Linksys drop the WEP key and transmits all my port. Basic reset it sefl twice in one day then just use of DMA 2200 now router is Rev 1.00.02.B10

    Any ideas?

Has done it several times, there is also the other problems (Linksys block ACK SIP on my magicJack) and found a problem of internal software code so spent a not made by linksys firmware. System operating at 200% better

  • "Reading DMA Ext" SMART error reported for a 27 "Mac (model end 2013)

    Hello

I have experienced a strange behavior in last week, where my iMac starts upward normally, but directly obtained subsequently very slow and lazy. Each program showed the wait mouse cursor und switch between programs by using the Task Manager did not work. If available, I could click through the mouse on a different program of an application window, but only to bring in the und before then the wait cursor shown here as well.

I had to reboot several times, until all behaved as usual.

I checked the State of the disk hard und SMART monitor indicated failures during the power on unit (UNC at LBA). And it seemed that this error has occurred several times (once at the start of the iMac, I retried several times).

I installed the tool console smartctl to get more detailed information and it reported an error count of 534 where were the last 4 errors of this type (history does not seem to store more errors). The last error reported was of type READ FPDMA queued (global error at LBA UNC).

I ran a SMART long test, which passed without error.

And if the system boots properly, there is no indication that the hard disk has a problem.

Someone knows something similar and has a suggestion, what to do? Is there something wrong with the hard drive, controller, plugging in the cable?

I really appreciate your thought and suggestions about this strange behavior.

Thank you for your support in advance!

    Best regards

    René

  • Satellite M60-135: how to change disk properties DMA?

The BIOS of my M60-135 (Phoenix) clearly provides no possibility to view or modify properties attached readers DMA.
Is it possible to Flash the BIOS to get the information?

    The context of this question:

  • Ultra-DMA 66 on Tecra M5?

    Hello

Some software of tewaking is an option to enable Ultra-DMA 66 on shipset intel. Ultra-DMA I know reduces the CPU usage when you access the HD. This usually means a more responsive OS. It is always a setting that I don't want to mess with unless I'm 100% sure, that it will not mess with my system. I remember in the last of the problems with the desktops and Ultra - DMA.Probably because wilt HD ot the chipset controller couldn't take it.

So my question is... done Tecra M5 (51st version) supports Ultra DMA66... and it's a good idea to enable it in windows xp?

    Thanks in advance.

    see you soon

Seems that you are not allowed

UDMA-> court for access to the memory of Ultra-Direct
It is a protocol for a standard ATA and it controls the speed of data transfer between a drive HARD ATA (IDE) and the controller of the motherboard!

As you say than UDMA and DMA to transfer data from the HARD drive to RAM by using the DMA controller on the CPU.

But please don't compare any old desktop computer with mobile technology. Tecra M5 is a mobile generation. Tecra M5 supports SATA HDD! Holders of host controller Serial ATA (SATA) integrated (2 profits, 150 MB/S)

AND the integrated IDE controller supports Ultra ATA 100/66/33.

    To return to your question;
Tecra M5 uses U-DMA66 and faster! You can use hard disks that support U-DMA100

I hope that I was clear enough

  • Tecra 550cdt enabling the DMA mode

Hello, I have a 550Cdt Tecra using windows 98se, I would activate the DMA mode for my hard disk drive, if enable DMA, after windows restarts, it stops showing the windows startup logo. I have to stop the laptop with the power button. In this case, I hear a click from the hard drive.

I use the standard disk controller driver 05/05/98 of microsoft and to replace the Toshiba IDE controller driver extended 05/06/98 allows only to enable DMA for the CD rom, but not the hard drive mode.

I did a long search on other forums and there are other people have the same problem. I checked the pinouts, slick IDE connector (PCB FAL2H0 HDD Flex Cable conn. B36080141012) and the IDE HD no. 21, DMARQ PIN is not connected to the motherboard.

This could be a design problem? Is there a software solution or a modification of the connector is possible?

    Hello Florian

As far as I know that this unit is about 8 years old, comes with Windows 95. Each book is designed and preinstalled to operate well and stabile. Physical infrastructure and pre-installed software must work harmonic. As far as I know that all of the settings in the software and the OS are configured to work without any problems. So much about the design problem.

Back to your question: as far as I know if you want to use the DMA (faster information transfer) chipset and OS must be taken in charge. I think that in your case the hardware phone don't support that. Please do not forget that the right chipset driver is installed. All that s.

In my opinion, expect a little too much of this good old classic. ;)

    Hello suneel

Sorry to interrupt this discussion but I feel somehow, he's going in the wrong direction.
If I understand you well you want to just install on your Satellite A300 WXP. Am I right about that?

On this forum, that you will find, I believe, hundreds of threads with description Specifies how to do that.
What you need is WXP CD facilities with integrated SATA driver.

Check it please this page. You will find beautiful description how to find SATA drivers. At the end you can also find the link to the guide for "Slipstreamer SATA driver in the Windows XP boot cd using nLite".

When the WXP is installed just continue with the installation of the driver Windows XP Edition family. If your laptop is supported WXP you can find them on the download page of Toshiba.

    I hope this helps.
    Good luck!

    Hi bobbao

It's very nice to know that the new Intel wireless card works properly. As you can see, that the antenna cable is properly connected should avoid any problems. Some of the 1410 series come with WLAN and the other units are WLAN ready as your.

    Sorry for the bad English

Wait a minute: you use Vista and Windows XP Home edition or you installed Vista only? I didn't understand exactly what you wrote.

If you are using Vista just go to BIOS settings and set SATA controller in AHCI mode. After restarting Vista several AHCI drivers will be installed and Vista work well will win.
If you use two operating systems, it can be problematic, because you can not set on AHCI back. You will get the blue screen after each start up Windows XP Home edition.
