Do I need an original stylus on Portege M200?

I was wondering if you * have * use the stylus on a Portege M200 original or if you can use any stylus. I read something on the stylus provided with a magnetic tip, so I'm not weather the touch screen on a tablet PC is basically identical to a touchscreen on we will tell any PDA or a Nintendo DS.

I ask because I'm about to buy a second hand M200, but it does not include the original stylus. Thanks in advance!

Usually, you use the same part compatible with your laptop.
Is that a pen Portege M200 supports two different buttons;

_Pen button_ acts as the snap of the touchpad control button waterproof.

Button_ _Eraser you can use this button as an eraser to erase when you use the application software for graphic designers. The application software for the texts allows you to select and delete characters with one touch action.

So if you think you don t these two buttons you can use another pen.

Good bye

  • Need to replace battery for my Portege M200

I now only get around 45 minutes out of the battery in my Portege M200 and need a replacement. The original is a PA3191U-3BRS but I can not find this list on the Toshiba web site. She has been replaced and if so, what model should I? Standard rather extended life is fine fo me.

    Thank you very much

I found the info that you can use the battery with PA3191U-3BAS part number. Put this number in Google and you will find many online shops where you can order. You will see that Portege M200 is listed as compatible portable model.

  • Re: Portege M200: need to start Win XP boot disk

    Hi all

I'm looking for a boot floppy to boot XP tablet edition disc 2005 on my Portege M200.
If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

    Hello

    You must initialize disc?
I wonder why you need this disc?

I think you don t know a fact. The diskette of starting in not necessary but you need a compatible CD/DVD player if you want to start from the CD or DVD.

The Portege M200 supports the recovery through the BIOS (by pressing 'C') with the USB 2.0 card and PCMCIA (16-bit and Cardbus).

_Following and controllers (USB, PCMCIA) can be used: _
    one) Toshiba, PA3352E-SCD2, CD-RW/DVD-Rom USB 2.0 drive
    (b) Toshiba, PA3402E-1DV2 USB 2.0 DVD Super Multi Drive, SN: 5362870112

The setting of 'PC Card Controller Mode' in the BIOS should be 'Automatic Selection '.
This means that you have nothing to change in the BIOS, because it is the default value.

  • Need digital pen for Portege M200

    Hello Toshiba Forums!

I lost my * digital pen * for * Portege M200 * so now I have the opportunity to buy another.

My question is: What pens (from companies) agree and works perfectly with the Portege M200?

I am interested to buy Wacom, Fuji or any other pen, including the original but I still have a few problems:

    1. I can't buy anything more expensive than $75

    2. it is rather difficult to find something except Wacom since I live in Israel (there is only one shop of Toshiba and I'm not sure they have the original pen for M200).

    Thank you!

Special software of Toshiba is responsible for the use of the stylus on the M200.
I have your case it seems to be a software malfunction. In my opinion you should try to remove this software from the operating system and after restarting try installing it again.
I think that this procedure should resolve this problem.

Akuma is right. For the time being, you can use Windows 7 for testing purposes. Official Windows 7 will be support begins when Microsoft, it offers for sale. So far, Toshiba or any other manufacturer offer some Windows 7 compatible drivers.

I installed Windows 7 on my Satellite Pro P300 and use it without a driver.

  • How to get off the Vista of Portege M200?

    Hello

I inherited Portege M200 from my boss, and he has updated using an external DVD from XP Pro to Vista Ultimate. Slow as a slow thing, very few pilots etc, meant that I am determined to go back to XP Pro.
I (128, 1 Gig and 2 gig options) SD cards and USB HP dvd1040e external drive, and XP Pro Tablet records.

I tried to select the devices to boot from the toshiba start screen, selecting SD or external DVD, but nothing helped. I changed the boot sequence in the Bios (hit escape and F1 at startup screen spalsh) and tried all combinations. I copied the image file to $TOSFD00.vfd on the SD card.

I managed to loop the machine, in all configurations, so that I just get support PXE-61 test failure, check cable PXE - MOF existing boot lines agent, then go to the Boot Manager Windows asks me to insert the windows installation disc as winload.exe may be damaged or missing. I removed the drive, checked that the winload.exe is present on the HARD disk, it is, and it is in its original version / size / format the date created.

Someone at - it a suggestoin which stops me pulling my hair?

    Thank you

    Hello

If you want to start from the CD or DVD you need a compatible external CD/DVD drive! Without that player you will not be able to reinstall Windows XP from the CD!

But the boss installed you the Vista operating system by using the external drive. Why you n t use the same drive to reinstall the XP?

The install form SD card is not possible! And if you want to install the image using the LAN you must configure a server

  • Portege M200: I can't use my pen on my screen

MY ink does not work on my Portege M200.

First tab-trick stopped with the error "encountered an error and needs to close" whenever I wanted to use it.

I don't bother with it I could always use paper and a single note so it doesn't bother me but here? ve recently discovered that I can no longer use my n p (e) on my screen at all.

It works on the side buttons that I fly over and option comes up and I can choose but it isn't not even move the cursor around my screen.

(I had to edit my post and add little by little text to see what has been censored as "blasphemous". Sorry)

As far as I know the Pack Microsoft Tablet Pack Microsoft Office XP for Tablet PC (Tablet Pack) allows you to write directly with your stylus in the documents of Office XP on your Tablet PC.
This software, you can find on the page of the Toshiba Portege M200 for driver.
I recommend reinstall this software if it causes application errors
