Do not record extended to several monitors display settings

original title: multiple monitors

I work in the world of DoD and many times we have 3 or 4 monitors when our jobs.  It's really boring when stretch us an application on all three screens (for example Excel) and then he if hook-back to one after unlock us the workstation when block us as we leave the room.  Is anyway to save the settings of windows in Win7 or Win8 so that when the machine is unlocked, the monitors of 3 or 4 will keep what was on them, when it was locked?  Very frustrating for a lot of people.

  • Lenovo L440 will not docking station during bios monitor display

I have a Lenovo L440 portable dock with a think pad pro. The HARD drive is encrypted with TrueCrypt and needs a password before windows starts. The laptop will not display on the monitor attached to the dock before loading windows. I changed the bios Config setting > display > display device boot, as well as all the other options display, but it does make a difference. I tried with a VGA cable and a DVI cable, and no work. I tried with 2 different L440s and 2 docking stations with the same problem on both product. I used a laptop Lenovo L540 with success the same model of docking station. I also updated to the latest version of the bios.

I wonder if I'm missing something or if simply, L440 model does not support this feature?

The hotline of Lenovo was not able to help.

The motherboard had to be replaced on the two L440s to fix this problem.

When I point out a single image, and then type 1 to 4 marks it assigns this qualification to each selected image in the survey. • Monitor display settings are too big

I went to the settings display and changed the settings of the monitor.  The display is now so important that I can't see my Start button, taskbar and icons on the desktop.  I can open the Explorer (because I accidentally found this icon) but if I have the minimize, I don't see the new window even when I use alt + ESC.  I can't start using the keyboard windows key.

I can right click on the desktop and extract options view, refresh, etc.  but I can't click on properties and see the window which would normally come to the top.

I also tried to turn the computer off and on and pressing F8 to get the computer to start in safe mode, nothing works.

I can't view anything that I need to correct my error.

I have a second monitor, I thought to hang, do not know if it works.

Is there anything else I can try?

    Hello

Right click on the desktop and the menu, press the arrow up once and press . This should get the display options to the top (customization). Initially, touch six times, then to open the display you settings have changed.

To move the box around the screen so that you can access the settings, press alt + space + m, then use the arrows until it is where you want, and then click . You should be able to cancel your changes here.

Alternatively, press the Windows key on your keyboard and type "System Restore" and click Enter, choose a date to restore before you make the changes. Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

Continues to change my display settings to start. Specifically, it's the colors that change from 32 bit to 8 or 16 bits. Whenever I simply go to display settings, change the 32-bit color and all is well, but I am trying to determine what is the cause for the last number she is reset at startup. (By default the monitor) on NVIDIA GeForce 8400 M GS, but its resolution is 800 x 600 and is not Basel to change. Not sure if it matters that I am using the monitor 1. Also, while I've updated to the latest NVIDIA driver, the 1. Generic monitor, which is what I use, present in advanced settings / properties that the driver Date was 2008 and 2. (Default monitor) was 2010... and right now, I just went back to 1. and now the date changes from 2008 to 16/10/2010. What the hell, why the date of the fair driver update itself in those seconds of coming and going? What was the problem? Restart now to determine that. Will update.

OK, think about it. It's Windows Live Messenger to Start Up - this program has been configured to run on 256 colors (8-bit which is). Unchecked "run in 256 colors" in the properties of Windows Live Messenger. The Compatibility tab, rebooted and all is fine, do not go back to 8 bits. Solved

I am trying to install a pc health check-up for my laptop but it says my monitor does not have the minimum required display settings and change the default DPI level.  How do I do that?

  • Double configuration monitor - only a monitor displays the login screen 2nd monitor is black

Hello, I searched Hi and low and starts to believe that it is just not possible from messages of others.  But since the last time this question has been posted in 2011, I'm hoping that there was a resolution.

How can I get my secondary monitor to show an image (any image would be great), while my computer is locked or simply putting in operation and reached the login screen.  Currently my secondary monitor shows just a black screen.  I do not want my screen to extend completely on two monitors (mosaic on nvidia video card) because when I do, my taskbar spans also the length of the two screens.  I like to use click once on my programs, rather than cluttering up my desktop with icons and you install vertically between the two monitors. I am unable to do otherwise.  Please let me know if anyone knows how to do this.  Thank you

    Hello

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned and see if it helps:

    Method 1:

Duplicate the display settings and check if you can view the screen saver in the monitor extended as well.

    To change your display settings

    1. open the screen resolution by clicking on the Start button, Control Panel, and then, under appearance and personalization, click on adjust the screen resolution.

    2. click on the dropdown next to several screens, click on duplicate these appear, and then click OK.

The option appears only when Windows detects multiple displays, more than one monitor connected to your PC.

    Note:

o If you don't see an option named multiple displays in your display settings, then Windows isn't detecting a second monitor plugged into your desktop computer. Or else, it does not detect an external monitor plugged into your laptop. When Windows detects this monitor, it will appear in the drop-down list next to the screen. If you do not see that what listed there, try click on Detect.

o ensure that the monitor you want to extend your desktop to is turned on and plugged into the video port appropriate to your computer. You may also need to select the correct source labeled on the controls of your monitor to ensure that the monitor is using the correct video port. For more information, consult the manual of your monitor or go to the manufacturer's Web site.

For more information, see the following link:

    Move windows between multiple monitors

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/move-Windows-between-multiple-monitors

    Method 2:

I suggest you to check the display resolution value for both monitors. Make sure that the resolution of the screen is the same on each display.

For more information, see: get the best display on your monitor

  • Several monitors x201T with ban

I'm looking for the simplest way to use 2 or 3 external monitors in mode 'Extend' with my x201T-0831 moored to the dock of 200 ban.  I don't need great resolution, just trying to keep organized with many projects using Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. - several windows open at the same time.  Have VGA screens, but loans to buy more if necessary.  Would appreciate any help.  Found wires for other models of Lenovo referring to third-party products, but I can't say which is better for the x 201 for this type of need.

    Thanks for any help!

    Thank you, Danielle.

I followed your links.  As I watch the T410s ban at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-76519&selectarea=SUPPORT&tempsel..., it seems that the connectors are slightly different between the ban and the one I have, the x 200.  On the T410 ban, there are two DVI ports and a VGA port.  On the x 200 ban, there is a VGA port at the back, next to a DisplayPort, and there is no DVI port.  The x 201 Tablet has a VGA port on the left side of the tablet itself, but I'll assume that is disabled when the Tablet is rooted in the x 200 docking ban.

I'll start with the assumption that I need to get a second monitor connected to the docking ban and use the DisplayPort port to do.   Since I was extra VGA monitors on hand, I'll buy Lenovo DisplayPort to VGA (analog only) cable from monitor part number 5794393 http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70321.  I'll try to get two VGA monitors upward and running in the configuration "Extend".  I will present on the progress made in the coming weeks.  Thank you.

    Update and additional comments:

It is now December 3, 2010, twelve days after that I started this answer.  Additional measures:

    1. I looked more closely at two monitors that I have, and have all both DVI and VGA ports.  I realized that most of the monitors, at least for the past five years, have this system double connector - I just used the VGA connector since it's what I do since the 1980s and I never had a reason to learn more about DVI.  I decided it was the right time to learn something new.

    2. I ordered the single-link DVI - D Monitor Cable DisplayPort / http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:item.detail?...

I found this on the main Web page of Lenovo USA by following the links store > Accessories > cables and connectors.  This is the fourth element displayed on the first page.  Cost of $27.13 including taxes and delivery United States.  Arrived today, so 12 days to fill orders.  The cable has Lenovo part number 45J7915.  Of interest, the date of manufacture for the part is '2010-11-27' and 11/29 China shipping date.  This looks like something that could probably also be purchased in both major electronic supply store.

    3. I followed the instructions at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-76519&selectarea=SUPPORT&tempsel..., kindly provided by Danielle.  I found that it worked better print 3 pages of instructions so that I have didn't disable images of instruction I changed monitors.

    4. I thought that instructions, intended to be the ThinkPad T410s, were very clear and I just had to adjust my thinking a bit because the X 200 ban has a different configuration for the connectors on the back.  On the X 200 ban, the connector remains blue VGA of the Middle when seen from behind.  There is only a single DisplayPort connector rather than two, and that is a black (not white) just to the left of the blue VGA port.

    5. After following the correct sequence listed in steps 1 through 4, I found that my monitor connected to the VGA port, designated as "Monitor 2", remained black.  I had a picture on the Thinkpad x201T (listed as "monitor 1") and the DVI monitor, listed as "monitor 3".  I was able to use both monitors in extend mode, so that I could drag the arrow of the mouse smoothly through to the next screen.

6 I then to the "Troubleshooting" of this same step "Setup multiple views for ThinkPad T410s", more precisely in the line:

"If you followed steps 1 through 4 and one or more of your screens does not connect, then you must change the display screen resolution."

By clicking right on the display screen, I was introduced to the great tool for the configuration of multiple screens.

I had several stumbling blocks to work through, and my experience could be useful to other readers:

    (a) I confirmed what others have said I am only able to watch two monitors, not three, with this configuration.

    (b) Resolution display is a misleading title of the window that appears when you have more than one monitor connected.  A more accurate title would be "set up multiple monitors - select duplicate or extend Mode, decide who monitors, designate which monitor is the primary monitor is connected and disconnected, and set the resolution for each monitor.

    (c) the configuration that I opened the screen resolution window showed that 1 monitor, the ThinkPad LED display, the VGA monitor as Monitor 2 and DVI Monitor 3 monitor.  The physical layout on my desk, from left to right, was 2-3-1.  The DVI monitor features a 22 "display, VGA has 19" and I wanted the larger screen directly in front of my external keyboard and mouse.   Resolution of the pictorial display screen showed the monitors installed (from left to right) 3-2-1, 3 and 1 blue and (active), and 2 gray (inactive).  I got confused trying to drag the mouse from one screen to the other to the first mouse seems to hit the left wall of the ThinkPad screen and and do move to the left on my screen more grand, who showed a great wallpaper.  I finally realized that if I moved the arrow to the right wall of the ThinkPad, he moved smoothly on the big screen.  The mouse arrow and screens are behaving as the pictorial resolution screen display showed the monitors built (from left to right) 3-2-1, not that I had actually prepared physically on the my table.  I was fooling around with by dragging images autour in display screen resolution pictorial until this photo with the real physical layout.

    (d) I had to then select the left (VGA) monitor as the primary monitor.  I've learned to follow the caveat to push "Apply" with each individual before moving on to the next step.

    (e) once I had unchecked the main monitor, the screen of ThinkPad, I was free to designate the ThinkPad screen as 'disconnect this Display.

    (f) once the ThinkPad screen was off, I was free to choose monitors 2 and 3 as active monitors in extended display Mode and move the mouse easily throughout the whole of the left edge of the screen 2 (my monitor of the left hand) to the right edge of the monitor 3 (my Center and the larger screen).  1, the ThinkPad screen monitor, remained gray.

    (g) a minor bug, when I clicked on the 'Apply' button for each of these changes, nothing happened.  I have to click it a second time to apply to commit.  (I use Windows 7 x 64, updated weekly)

    (h) another minor obstacle was that I had to get the best resolution for a monitor before I designated as primary monitor.  I got stuck a couple of times with a resolution too large, unable to see all of the icons or the taskbar in Windows 7.

    (I) now that I'm all together to the top with several monitors, my first experience, I realize that a more fluid experience would be if all monitors were of the same size of the screen, closely aligned together at the same height.  With my current setup, a monitor is 3 "higher than next to him, and the resolution is different between the two screens. MTY eyes must make two adjustments that I scan back between two screens.

Thanks to James for his excellent help!  It also has the same information published on the website of T4190s: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/How-do-I-setup-multiple-display-for-the-Thi...
