external monitor display resolution not as an option

I try to have an external monitor for MacBook Pro (the Captain). While setting up, I couldn't find the proper resolution (1920 * 1080 @60 Hz) in the display settings. I did a nd restart read a lot about this, but I couldn't find a simple solution on how to add a resolution in the option if it is not found.

hope you can help me configure the resolution to the required resolution.

After a screen shows what display preferences for the external monitor

  • Equium A100-147 - Native resolution on the external LCD display does not work

    Hello

My Equium A100-147 has 1 VGA and 1 S-Video output, so I use the VGA output on an external LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1680x1050@60hz, but integrated graphics Intel 945 card doesn t give me the correct resolution to choose for this monitor, the closest is 1600 x 1200 and some weird widescreen resolutions other that make my monitor see the scaling an ugly picture.

So I tested another external monitor with a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 resolution closest gave me Intel drivers is 1920 x 1080, even the installation of two drivers of monitors, remove and reinstall the driver and same formatting the machine and reinstall everything from scratch gave no different results.

I have another laptop MSI Wind with the same graphic card built in and the same version of the pilot, and the laptop detects both the monitor and the good resolutions for them, this isn't a problem of Monitor driver.

Seems to me that is a problem with the S-video output, which makes this mess, but there is no way to disable it in the BIOS or any other place in Device Manager I still seem.

Can someone give me some advice for what can do?
    Thank you!

    Hello

You cannot choose the preferred resolution because the graphics chip does not support this external resolution or the installed graphics driver is not contained in this resolution. The two cases are possible.

If you want to know if your graphic chip supports this resolution and then take a look at the user manual and check it.

If the chip of the graphics card would support this resolution and you will not be able to choose, then that would mean that the graphics driver does not support this resolution.

But first he must find out what external resolutions are supported by the GPU.

  • External monitor display Windows logo with 3-4 inch black border

Original title: external monitor shows background Windows, but not

My daughter was working in PowerPoint and that there was full-screen mode. When she clicked out of it somehow, the monitor now displays only the Black logo of windows (with a border of 3-4 inches) around it, but not actually the computer screen. A friend told me that a few keystrokes probably did. some keys of function or something. Do you know what function keys, they may have been? It connected the vga, if that makes a difference

Wow. Thank you for your long and well thought answer. I was out last night until 11:30 working on it and it finally got. I went through a few suggestions you made. After more research, the solution was simple (well that until last night, didn't even know these options exist).

When I right-click on the desktop screen and select 'Screen Resolution' the only option had been changed to "expand." Once I changed it to "reproduce" instantly displayed on the monitor screen.

Thank you very much for your help!

  • Satellite A30 714: external monitor displays in 640 x 480 only

I am trying to connect to an external LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1280 x 1024. When I plugged the screen plug-and-play Windows XP installed, now when I switch to the screen of the laptop to this screen (or running dual screen) it will be the only display at 640 x 480 and does all of the options in the graphic properties to change the resolution.
But, if I use the external display as extended desktop, then I'm able to put any resolution I want upward and above 1280 x 1024.
I am running XP Home and I have installed the latest graphics drivers from Toshiba.

    Can anyone offer advice please?

    Hi Derek

It's very strange. If the correct driver is pre-installed to avoid any problems. If you want to use just external monitor using FN + F5 to change the Office externally and then change the resolution (the number of screen 1 must be enabled).

  • EliteBook 8460p and external monitor/projector does not work

We have several 8460 with the same question.

They work fine until you try to connect to an external monitor/TV/projector and then the trouble begins.

When you use Fn + F4 to establish a dual monitor output the external monitor and integrated display switches between the two, as if the PC cannot determine the display to use. On rare occasions, it works but it is not reliable. I ve it first met on a fair and when I tried it before the session, it worked fine. During the session it just started this behavior. I took it out and replaced the graphics drivers, BIOS and made sure that the resolution was not the issue. It worked fine and I returned it to the room of the lesson and he did it again.

I started to believe that the projector was the wrong part here, so I didn't want to use the PC again on this fair, but no other computer shows no signs of distress.

Since then, it was at the beginning of this spring, I ve seen and experienced the same problem with several computers of the same type and with different monitor and they all behave in the same way.

I have spent some time now and searched the web but found nothing I ve doesn't explain anything around it and so far no update driver, and no other updates (including a full installation) has solved this problem.

There are the HP Elitebook 8460p with AMD graphics card in the computer.

There is no any other indication that something isn't going to the newspaper or whatever it is.

Any suggestion of what may be the cause of this is useful.

Hello and thanks for the reply.

The original problem is old, from 2012, in fact and more or less no longer applies. Some of the more troublesome computers has been replaced with other models at the time and the 8460 p is used more or less entirely users who do not have the need for external screens.

Have not seen it since a long time but we've updated the BIOS and drivers a couple of times so the current status is in fact "stable".

Thus, we can say that the problem is not more, but whatever solved the problem is unknown.

  • Multiple monitors in the problem. External monitor display full desktop but no video in windows media player.

I plugged a LCD TV to my laptop using a VGA cable. LCD TV display the full desktop.

When I play a video in Windows Media Player video area is not displayed on the LCD screen, the rest all is shown.

When I ran the player VLC video did not show, but when I changed the video option "overlay video output" i.e disabled this option, the video was shown on the LCD.

But there is no option in WMP. How in WMP?

    What is the problem?

    Maryse Agarwal

    not a driver problem

found the solution, I used both the computer laptop lcd and the external monitor

When I went just outside, he played

This is because the graphics card offers support for playback of the video when you play the video on the internal monitor

  • Tecra M5 - external monitor detected but not image

    Hello

I just bought Tecra M5 for use with my external NEC monitor. However, regardless of the configuration, I try I get no image on the monitor. The LED on the monitor indicates that it receives the signal from the laptop but the monitor remains black pitch. The monitor works obviously very well, I just disconnected from another laptop.

I tried all possible settings in the nVidia control panel, but without success. I also changed "Power On Display" in the BIOS "Screen LCD + Analog RGB" but no luck either.

I have v.3.70 of BIOS and graphics card drivers v.7.15.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you
    Mike

PS When I press Fn + F5, I have no options to choose from, unlike the other FN +... combinations. I don't know that it should be everything, but it is perhaps worth mentioning.

Also when I select only 'use a view' of the nVidia control panel and select my NEC monitor in the list, the monitor turns on and the light turns green, but the screen is still black. Like I can't accept changes the output switches to the computer screen after a few seconds.

    Hello

I think you should test with the preinstalled Toshiba operating system.
After that the laptop was recovered, connect the external monitor and use the FN + F5 in order to detect the external display.

  • Qosmio X 500 - 13R: picture on external monitor with resolution 2560 x 1440 is blurred

    Hi all

I have a computer laptop X 500 - 13R Toshiba Qosmio, although 2 years, still a great piece of hardware.

    I just bought a new monitor 27 "U2713HM which supports a resolution of 2560 x 1440.

Computer video card notebook (GTX 460 m) supports a resolution higher than through a digital connection, so I used a HDMI cable to connect.

Via Control Panel Nvidia, I could create a custom resolution, but the image is not clear / is blurred.
It is readable, but it's just not everything.

Tried with HDMI 1.4, without success.
I volunteered to connect through Dual Link DVI cable, but the phone doesn't have a DVI connector, and I doubt the adapter will help.

Anyone has a suggestion how to fix this problem?

    Thank you.

I would like to share my experience using an external monitor with a HDMI cable.
My monitor supports both HDMI and DVI port.
First of all, I plugged my laptop on the external monitor using a HDMI cable to HDMI.
But the fonts and the picture was not clear. I used the resolution 1920 x 1080

Then I went to the DVI port. I plugged the laptop s HDMI port to monitor s port DVI (HDMI/DVI cable) and that solved my problem.

I'm not quite sure the relevance of m this could be for you, but it worth the try

  • External monitor adapter does not

    Hello

I recently encountered a problem with my external monitor adapter. It worked very well until all monitors I put seeing flashes and the screen goes black. I tried to make all combinations of display configuration but the screen is still blank. When I plug the cable into the adapter, the monitor can receive a signal on my external VGA adapter, but cannot display anything (means when my external monitoris not connect it to any vga, it displays "Cable not connected", but when I attach my external adapter, the message disappears). Any suggestion to this problem? Is there a technician of Lenovo in this forum who can help me because I tried calling support, but I'm a stranger. I need to know if it can be fixed by formatting of Vista. Either way, my machine is a Lenovo Y410.

    Thank you

    Terrence

Check the cable or re-install the graphics card drivers.

If you think that it is hardware problem and goes to the format, try to restore windows.

  • External monitor (projector HDMI) not recognized in CC AE or AE CS6 with the new Macbook Pro

You have a very difficult problem that maybe someone can help me find a solution.  I had an old Macbook Pro (2009-ish) I was using with AE and my HDMI projector to do the work of projection mapping.  The laptop computer motherboard used recently (not linked, I don't think) but now I bought a new Macbook Pro and am trying to use the HDMI output to the projector as my external monitor in After Effects (I tried both CC and CS5.5 and CS6). Under Preview video it does not appear as an option to send to (the choices are computer monitor only or Firewire).

I'm a mess that I'm supposed to do a show tonight with the installation I did many times with my old Macbook and AE and now can't do it at all. I have to be able to have the projector receive EI feed - and nothing I've done so far has helped. The system sees the projector, then why doesn't AE?  I can't drag the window of the program in the projector window space and expand - there must be exactly 1920 x 1080 in order for me align correctly.

If there is Adobe TAPI people this morning, I'd CERTAINLY appreciate your comments, as well as any other person who might have had similar problems. It should work, it should be a no-brainer. Right now I'm running a new STANDARD Apple Macbook Pro with HDMI output and the latest version of AE CC with all updates done. Please, please help!

    Thanks in advance,

    Bill

After Effects does not come with components for an HDMI output.

Your other computer must have installed additional components that adds this functionality.

  • External monitor is recognized not it says "no signal".

Original title: does not recognize external monitor

I use an external monitor, which is a TV for watching movies via the port HDMI on my ACER Aspire 6930 AVOL 22 "1080 p.  He worked in this configuration for at least a month, but recently my computer does not recognize the tv.  It says "no signal".  I tried a friends laptop and the tv works as advertised, so I'm sure it's the computer.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

Well, I think that something to with my HDMI port/card does not work.  I discovered that we had a power surge from the other day, and I think that is what is happening.  He got zapped.  I found many programs that just don't have anything in them, and its been quite a process to get it all going again, but I can't get the HDMI port to work.  I got the VGA to work, but not the HDMI port.  I did the above a couple of times and made sure I had the correct drivers and latest, nothing helps.  Well.

  • External maximum display resolution of 7520 with AMD Radeon HD M 7730 & Intel HD Graphics Inspiron 4000

I'll buy a monitor external with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, or even larger. Will be my 7520 Inspiron with the graphics card AMD Radeon HD M 7730 & Intel HD 4000 support that big?

I heard that the user cannot specify which video card to use. What happens if I connect to an external display that does not support Intel but AMD cards can (suppose AMD adapt can support a higher resolution)?

    Thank you!

That limit you to 1920 X 1200 on the outside.

  • External monitor display problems with Dynadock U10 on PC Toshiba laptop Win7

They hooked me up a Station of reception Dynadock U10, separate keyboard and a mouse and a monitor external 22 ".

The laptop works fine when the VGA is connected directly to the laptop. I have download the recent software/driver upgrade loaded 18 (TC30322400A) without fixing the problem.

Are you using the latest driver?
In my opinion you should not update BIOS.

    Hello

    Method 1:

I suggest you to start the computer using the VGA Mode.

    (a) restart the computer

    (b) press F8

    (c) in the start menu

    (d) choose the option

    (e) activate the VGA Mode

This option starts Windows in mode 640 x 480 using the current video driver (not Vga.sys). This mode is useful if the display is configured to a setting that the monitor cannot display.

    Reference:

To start the computer in safe mode

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

    Method 2:

If you are able to start the computer using the VGA Mode, you can perform a system restore to the date where the computer worked well.

How to restore Windows XP to a previous state

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/306084

If you use system restore when the computer is in safe mode, you can't undo the restore operation. However, you can run System Restore again and choose a different restore point if any. You can also create Safe Mode system restore points. System Restore affects the Windows system files, programs and registry settings that have been changed recently. It can also make changes to scripts, files, batch and other types of executable files on your computer. System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos, so it cannot help you restore a deleted file.

If the problem persists, you may need to contact the manufacturer of the monitor to the stand.

What happens if my monitor does not return to its original position? He said out of SCOPE and is now black. How to get out of this State? I tried rebooting with no luck...

Ah, I see. Here's your first message with more information. Next time please do not make multiple posts on the same topic. It's just more work for people who are trying to help you. Try to go to Safe Mode and by setting your display below resolution. Go in Safe Mode, press the F8 key as the computer starts. Use your arrow key to select Mode without failure.
