does not recognize the key

I bought a copy of a local Best Buy Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade.  I am i the process of upgrading and I were invited to enter the license key, which is not recognized by the upgrade program.  I tried to phone Microsoft for assistance, but there is no one at home!

Also awaited reopen any suggestions?

You are more than likely you are trying to use your Windows 7 operating system product key to activate a trial version of Microsoft Office that is pre-installed on your Dell computer. MS Office products have their own set of unique product key and a Windows 7 key code cannot be used to activate MS Office.

You can buy MS Office 2007 in order to obtain a product key that works with your trial version. However all is not dark as if you decide to buy Office 2007 now, you will be more a free upgrade to Office 2010 when it is released.

  • the printer port does not recognize hasp key

I recently bought a Dell rebuilt to replace a running xp sp3 which had overheating problems with windows xp sp3.  I am running a previous software (7.5V2 friendly technology FlexiSign Pro) program that requires a hasp on a parallel port key.  I never had problems with the old computer recognizing the hasp key, but when I try to use this software on the new computer does not recognize the HASP.  I think what may be due to the fact that my new computer printer port is configured as instead of the lpt port ecp.  Is it possible that this could be my problem and I can change the port of older style? Any guidance is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Greg

If the problem really is whether the parallel port in ECP mode, you can switch to EPP mode in the BIOS.  Restart the computer and keep a close eye at the beginning of the boot sequence for the message that tells you what key to press to enter the BIOS (change system settings or similar).  Restart again and press the key when the message is displayed.  You will have only a few seconds.

  • Portege 7220 does not recognize the Extension of memory (Kingston)

    Hello

Recently, I wanted to update my old notebook, Portege 7220 with a 256 MB Stick of Kingston Ram. According to their website, it should work, but the machine does not recognize the memory at all. (just using internal 64 MB).

I can't upgrade the Bios either, because when I press F12 when the computer starts, it cannot read the floppy drive in the docking station. Do I need a USB floppy drive for that? I tried with a usb key, but it does not work. is there a possibility to redo an update of windows? (Comp running Windows 2000)

Thanks for your help, much apprechiated.

    > I can't upgrade the Bios either, because when I press F12 when the computer starts, it cannot read the floppy drive in the docking station. Do I need a USB floppy drive for that? I tried with a USB but that doesn't work. Isn't there a possibility to do a windows update? (Comp running Windows 2000)

Only the TRAD of the BIOS version exists for this Portege.
This means that you will not be able to update the Windows operating system running, but you will need an external floppy drive to perform these updates.

    Regarding your problem of memory;
    Check this box:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5388&ft=m&St=3

You can find the compatible memory module. It s a PC100 144 pin SODIMM.

Maybe you used the not-entirely-compatible module or the module is defective

  • Windows 7 does not recognize the installation discs

    Hello

I have a problem, and I don't know if there is a solution, but here goes.

My laptop is a HP DV6-7029WM Windows 7, 64 bit.

The hard drive was dead, and he was replaced last month.  I sent it to HP.  C is the hard drive, and was originally the recovery on D. Removable media were on E, and when I connected a USB stick or memory card reader it would on F.

When I came back, hard drive was on C as it was originally, and there was no recovery drive D. D is now my removable media drive. When I put in a USB stick or a memory card reader, which is now on the E drive.

After I bought this, I put the recovery on a USB key, but I've accidentally thrown out. (My mistake) So I ordered the installation diskettes after that I return my HP PC.  I had 2 DVD system recovery disks and an Application and a recovery DVD Drivery.

I want to reinstall Windows back to the default settings. I put disc 1 (System Recovery DVD) and close.  I reboot and it goes directly to the office. I hear the whirring disc, but nothing happens.

I go to the control panel > Recovery > advanced retrieval methods. I click on restart, and it loads files and then says DVD set, which I do. He told me that he does not recognize the installation disc.

I googled this problem and found a poster on CNET that had the same problem as I do. Also, I can't do a system restore.  My problem is the same as this poster on CNET.  I can read DVDs and CDs.  Those that work very well.

    http://forums.CNET.com/7723-19411_102-568059/Windows-7-installation-disc-not-recognized/

The files are on the DVD, because I see them.

I don't know what to do. Should I send my PC back? Can I do to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello:

With recovery disc 1 into the DVD drive, restart the computer and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the ESC key to display a menu of options.

Select the F9 boot menu option.

Select the DVD drive on the list of bootable devices, and press the Enter key.

Watch the screen for additional instructions.

  • CD/DVD does not recognize the drive.

CD/DVD does not recognize the drive.  Error message-"Insert a disk." "" "Insert a disk in the drive (E or F, depending on whether one in use).  I bought a DVD/CD thought exteranl today that might work.  Same error message with the external dvd/cd.  Can hear the disc turning when it is inserted during a short period of time, maybe 20 seconds, then it stops.  Sometimes, the disc is ejected when the error message appears, sometimes not.  Same results even with blank CDs.

    Hello

    I have a NSLU2 on Win XP SP3.

It does not recognize the USB drives, he wrote that 'drive not formatted '. It only recognizes the USB key as "disk2".

    Current firmware is V2.3R29.

When I try to update the firmware, the "not enough disk space" message.

I tried the same disc on a different NSLU2 and it worked fine.

What can I do my NSLU2 reading displays the disc correctly?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Markus

It seems to be a firmware issue... The V2.3R29 firmware. is quite old. The latest firmware is Ver.2.3R63... Hard reset the NSLU2, power cycle it and then try to update the firmware. After upgrading the firmware, reset it again and reconfigure... Disconnect the HARD drive before upgrading.

  • Install Windows 8 does not recognize the system drive

I built a new machine (chart below). Since this is a new machine and not an upgrade, I bought Win 8 Pro 64 bit OEM to do a clean install. The SSD is my system disk that Windows 8 will be installed. Four data drives are mirrored, two for the other two. Construction went perfectly. The BIOS recognizes all six disks: 1 SSD, 4 HDD, 1 DVD.

Insert and boot the disk of Windows 8. Accept the EULA, enter the product key. Arriving at the page "Where do you want to install Windows?", only four hard disks are listed. The SSD (installation to go) is not found by Win 8. ??? I tried to change ports SATA, cables, power supply - no difference. For each new change of hardware, the BIOS still sees everything. This isn't a hardware problem.

The question remains: why the installation of Windows 8 does not recognize the SSD drive. All five disks are on AHCI. I'm not in RAID.

I spoke with crucial technical support of all (manufacturer of the SSD). They were also surprised that the drive does not appear in the list.

Does anyone have a solution? I spent all the money on hardware, as well as the new version of Windows and I cannot install it.

This is the real kick in the teeth: Microsoft won't support me. The OEM of Windows 8 version is the same as manufacturers, such as Dell or HP. Support told me I had the support of the manufacturer. HA! I am the manufacturer. Either that or upgrade from an earlier version of Windows. This means that any that a new construction machine will get ZERO assumption of Microsoft. All just great.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.
