But they do not get the Control Panel, rights to open the network and sharing Center, and they could not change the registry... etc what is the solution for this? domain administrator I could be able to make any changes in this PC. We are facing this problem in all of our VMWare PC 7 on windows. I tried to add everyone in the local system Local Administrator and add the domain users group to the local administrator groups, but no luck...

Our users don't have administrator rights, however, there are a few pieces of software that communicates with the hardware using COM ports.  Since they don't have administrator rights, you may not click on advanced in the communications port to set the port to the necessary com com.

I found reg hacks online that say will open the advanced screen to allow the com to be changed, but none that I've found work successfully.

Can someone tell me the correct registry setting that I need to grant permission to in order to open the advanced under properties tro communications button and have the available com port number to change.

You have the computer connected to a network or domain?

It is not possible to access advanced screen or advanced without administrator rights. I suggest you to contact the administrator of the system to help about it.

  • Script to add a domain user to the local Administrators group raises the error "the network path is not found."

I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain and a Windows XP Pro workstation that has been attached to the domain and then disconnected. I am trying to create a VBS script to add a domain user to the local Administrators group.

I log on my computer as a local administrator and run the following script:

    Dim oNetwork: Set oNetwork = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Network")
    StrPC Dim: strPC = oNetwork.ComputerName
    Dim OGroup: Set oGroup = GetObject ("WinNT: / /" & strPC & "/ directors")
Dim OUser: Set oUser = GetObject ("WinNT://domainname/username")
    oGroup.Add (oUser.ADsPath)

This script returns the error "the network path is not found."

However, I am able to go into control panel > user accounts > enter the user name and the domain name > click Next... > choose the administrators of the 'other' group and the user name will be added to the local Admin group.

The same script runs without error if it is launched after logon on the workstation with a domain administrator account.

How can I get my script runs without error, when you are logged into the workstation as a local administrator?

    Best regards, Andy

The code that I used came from here. If the syntax of the Add method is passed to oUser.ADsPAth to "WinNT: / /" & domainname & "/" & username, the script works correctly.

    Therefore, the modified script:

    Dim oNetwork: Set oNetwork = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Network")
    StrPC Dim: strPC = oNetwork.ComputerName
    Dim OGroup: Set oGroup = GetObject ("WinNT: / /" & strPC & "/ directors")
    Dim strUser: strUser = "WinNT://domainname/username."
    oGroup.Add strUser

Thanks to Qasim Zaidi to show the code of work here.

  • If the user does not have their e-mail address defined

    Hello

If some users don't have their email address in the fnd_user table, then will goto the user notification work? What should I do to ensure that the workflow is not raise an error in such a situation and always send a notification to this user?

    Thank you

    Kumar

    Kumar,

Notifications are assigned to users regardless of the email address they have. If a notification is the target of a user so the user will be able to see it in the list of tasks of notification, as long as the notification is open. Now, if the user turns out to have a valid e-mail address and sender of workflow works correctly then the user will also be sent an e-mail with the content of the notification.

There is an error or warning if a user does not have an e-mail address; the notification will be always accessible from the task list.

  • Where to find the local Administrators group?

I wonder had to find what he's talking about if I change the number of Directors.

    Group members check Description

This check identifies and lists the individual user accounts that belong to the local Administrators group. If more than two individual administrator accounts are detected, Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer® will list the names of account and flag the check as a potential vulnerability. In general, we recommend that you keep the number of Directors to a minimum because administrators essentially have complete control over the computer.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

The name refers on behalf of the group, so the first line is correct, but you must change the other Member who appoints the members of the group.  It would be like this, 'Member AS Server Ops % '.  I'm guessing that server Ops is a security AD Group, then you could also do "members = DOMAIN\Server Ops.  Usually best to select by pressing the 3 points and choosing from the available groups to make sure that you do not have typo and you have selected the correct attribute.

  • I'm an admin, but I do not have full administrator permissions?

Recently, I deleted an administrator account on my computer and got an admin instead, due to the fact that I am the only user now. I keep trying to download something for a game in the Program Files folder, but when I try, it says that I need permission of the administrator. I also tried to make no read-only files, and I got the same thing in General. I needed the administrator permission to continue. It only gives me a place to put a password. The first message tells me that I need an admin approval and apply. The second problem (replacing the files read-only) tells me that I need admin permission to continue, then allows me to continue anyway but doesn't really change the files. I'M AN ADMIN! Is there a way to fix this? (This problem also happening before I deleted the account admin original.)

    Hello

You can try to fix it with Safe Mode - repeatedly press F8 as you bootup. The ADMIN account in trunk
Mode has no default password (unless someone has changed the password so it should be available).

To make another account with your same password - ADMIN upgrade - REBOOT (do not only closing session) and
connect that account - you can download to use it? (make two ADMIN accounts - one in case you
to migrate to it and another to test and difficulty).

It while in the new use of the account to LOWER your account regularly APPLY / OK to need - and then lift it up
Back to ADMIN - repeat several times - descent - go downstairs - raise - repeat. This helps to clean
corruption. Make sure that the account administrator.

Try your downloads into the new account. If the downloads work in the new account, then the former
account needs to be fixed, if possible, or it can be migrated to the new account.

If necessary later this is the process to fix a damaged account or migrate to a new.

  • Bought a Windows 7 used and there are user profiles that I can't delete because I do not have their password and I can't delete them admin status.

I bought a used computer windows 7 and there are 3 profiles of users, who have admin status. I was able to penetrate by a guest profile, but I can't remove a user profile admin, to remove all the programs or make me an admin because I do not have the passwords. Any suggestion would be appreciated. I have no discs either.

If I bought a used computer, no matter who previously owned the
first thing I could do with it would be to reinstall the operating
system itself. You don't know how the computer has been maintained,
which has been improperly installed, what's missing, what virus and
There may be spyware, etc. I would not live with someone
other errors and problems, possibility of kiddy p0rn, etc. and I
would not recommend anyone else to do.

Your choice of course, but in my opinion, you're playing with fire if you
    do not reinstall Windows properly.

  • Users added to the local Administrators group accounts

    Hello

In our area (win server 2008 / r2) the logged on user object on some clients (windows 7) is added to the local administrator group.
I can't find the reason for this.
We have configured restricted groups in the strategy group and after gpupdate/force, the user is removed from the group yet (but administrator rights keep until the next logon).
Affected, it's always only the user who is logged on the client.
Of course, I checked the logon scripts, nothing that could trigger such behavior.
Does anyone have an idea how this could happen?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ingo

Hi, this is a follow-up to the issue and my second attempt to find the solution. In addition, it is still connected to my first and second positions.

My laptop that works with Windows 7 32-bit has 2 two natural questions:

    1. I can't access PC's on the network on the laptop itself and thus get an error:
"\\(PC Name) is not accessible." You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server know if you have access permission. The specified network provider is not valid.

    2. When you make the file sharing Wizard, I get an error "your folder cannot be shared" and the only option is to click on 'Done '.

I'm trying to share folders to another laptop that works with 64-bit Windows 8 but I think there must be a problem with the Windows 7 laptop. I can share and access all the folders of any laptop before.

Thank you! Any useful response will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Sevi,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have problems to access the specified network.

But, I would like to know some information related to this topic to help you better.

    (1) is connected to a domain of the computer network?

    (2) is your computer connected to the homegroup?

    (3) have you been able to access the specified network previously.

In the meantime, please follow the suggestions mentioned by Fazil M on May 15, 2012 and check if this is useful.
