  • An urgent need to change the code PIN, don't want to factory reset

    Hi all

A few weeks ago, I accidentally dropped my Xperia Z3 Compact on the ground. The damage was not serious, apart from a few scratches on the screen, at least, I thought. It turns out that the damage was much more than just some scratches: a few hours later, my touch screen started acting weird and finally the half top of the touch screen is not functional, as in the screen still worked, but I couldn't support what either on the upper part of the screen.

You guessed it already: my PIN contains the number 1, and on the unlock screen, the number 1 is on the upper part of the screen, making it impossible for me to enter my full pin code. I want to reset the pin code, but I don't want my lost data.

    Things I've tried:

-Device android Manager: everything is functional in the SMA: location works fine, I can ask a ring and I can probably delete my camera as well, but I have not tried. When I press the "Lock" option on the other hand, it does not work. I have a password on my PC and confirm. He invites even "Lock request successfully sent" or something in that direction, but when I look at my phone, nothing happens. When I try to enter a new password, it invites "since Google has verified that a screen lock is already set, the password you entered is not necessary." Looking at my phone, nothing happened.

-Enter the code wrong PIN several times to connect with my Google account: I think it is already patched, but I tried anyway. My phone is locked for 30 seconds every time.

Google search gives thinking I should factory reset my device so the PIN will be removed, but I got precious files on this phone, and not on a SD memory

Would be just to back up my whole phone on a PC and factory reset it, but I can't access the files of the phone while it is locked.

If anyone has a solution for my situation, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

  • Put tabs in locked point. I don't want that. How can I change?

I use Firefox under Linux Mint Rebecca 38. I meet several problems with the functionality of the tab that don't seem to be addressed by the various tools of tabbed browsing and installed from Mozilla. Primary is EACH new future tab with the lock attribute set. Sometimes, I'll also protected. I not the usefulness or the other of these things and does not know how to activate them other than by manually once that loading tabs. I would have preferred that they not appear automatically. When you restart Firefox, each restored tab comes with two attributes, the value active. I don't know what those things are for, but I don't need them and I don't want them. How to change this behavior?

With your impressive list of installed extensions, this is almost certainly due to one of the associated multiple tab you have extensions.

Start Firefox in safe mode and see if that fixes the problem. If so, find out which extensions are causing the problem or simply get rid of them.

  • I don't want to browse the articles of wonk 100 billion. I want a living person to tell me, in plain language, how to add shortcuts to my homepage.

I want to add a simple shortcut to my home page. Your instructions say yo click on the menu, click page, add shortcuts. No 'page' option when I click on the menu. So now what? And how to do the unnecessary and embarrassing search disappear when I open a new tab. I have REPEATEDLY décliqués it and chose only Bing. Yet, it returns. I hate it. I don't want to. Please advise, in plain language, how simply to solve these problems.

Hi weejindy, these are the steps to add a shortcut to a home on Android screen and not the instructions for Windows. For Windows, see my reply in your thread earlier: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1062509

The new integrated tab of Firefox page has a search box set to your search engine by default over a number of thumbnails of pages you have visited. Is this sound like the display page when you open a new tab?

Here's how you can change your new tab page:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?

If the problems persist, some potential diagnoses and remedies:

If Firefox will not let you change this setting: you can have what is called SearchProtect on your system. This must be removed the control panel.

Firefox if allows you to save your changes, but he doesn't know: one of your extensions may be the substitution of her. You can consult, disable and/or remove extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, take a critical look on the list on the right and turn off (or remove) something unknown.

If the modification works during your session, but during the next startup is return to the unwanted page: you could have a user.js file in your personal settings Firefox (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and delete the file: How to fix preferences that will not save.

  • Why if I don't want to remember the story, can't I remember passwords?

I saw if I choose in privacy settings that I don't want to remember my historical web navigation of Firefox, I can't check (or uncheck) the security setting to remember my password on sites.

I think that these are two different things and maybe I could remember my password (protected by a master password of course) even if my not to save my cookies. You can bookmark pages even if you do not keep the story right?

    Thanks for reading my question.

You can only register a new name and a password when you are in normal mode and not in private browsing mode.
Mode PB, no data is stored on the disk (you can create/modify exceptions), then you will need to temporarily cut off private browsing mode to store a new password.

You can use an extension for private browsing mode support tab.

  • How can I get rid of a pop-up telling me I have TO update Firefox when I don't want?

I get this update of Firefox saying me that I NEED to update to the latest version. I don't want to because it will affect my Norton Antivirus program. But the pop-up does not allow me an option to choose out of it and keeps coming back every time.

Norton has updated their toolbar for Firefox 31.0 since the eve of its release. Unlike with most of the extensions, the application like Norton toolbars must be updated for each new major release of Firefox .exe.

However, if you use the version of Comcast supplied then the update is still delayed. http://community.Norton.com/T5/Norton-toolbar-Norton-identity/Firefox-31-and-the-Comcast-Norton-toolbar/TD-p/1159906

Either way, updates of Firefox have no impact on your application separated from Norton that the message simply indicates the version of the Norton toolbar extension you have is not compatible.

  • My home page displays a side tab. Don't want the tab. I have, dating back to IP utill it is corrected.

my homepage is ixquick.com and don't want or use Add ons. Only in the last month has this annoying tab been appearing requiring an extra keystrock everytime I go foxfire.

Is the new empty tab or does show content of a particular site?

Another user had a second tab to open (white) and it is caused by one of its extensions. Even if you don't remember a facility, they can sneak in when you install other software.

Please check the essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete).

Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the page modules and click one of the links in the last step.

That get rid of the extra tab?

Note: If there is no button Delete, the extension has been installed outdoors for Firefox. You can check the Control Panel, uninstall a program. If you click on the column heading "installed on" sort by date and scroll down for all the time, the problem started, you might be able to spot the problem.

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Plugins category
