  I went to very difficult to leave my boyfriend to buy this pc.  First of all, that we now live in different countries.  I live in the United States and he lives in England.  We met on a PS3 game online called DUST 514 and played a lot of pc games together as well.  It is difficult to have to steal it back, but we're getting married soon and I'll come to England.  He needs a new PC for years and was jealous of my Alienware Aurora R4.   I've never built a pc or tinkered with all hardware.  I want to make this even more impressive pc by adding an SSD.  I think I can install an SSD without any problem (I want the Samsung 849 EVO Mz-7TE1T0BW 2.5 "1 TB SSD)... Oops... I just thought of something... 4 TB SATA is actually 4 2 TB SATAs, put in place with 2 as the mirror...  I think that there are only 4 connectors for extension for SSD/HDD... Is this correct?  I have to replace one of the SATAs 2 TB with the 1 TB SSD?  What configuration I would define then the three SATAs 2 TB?  Would it be to say that he would have only 1 TB SATA? How to connect to the new motherboard (if I need to get a new one)?  Also if I get the other motherboard (if this motherboard work with everything) this motherboard would have space for 4 x 2 TB RAID 1 + 0 and the 1 TB SSD SATAs?

  Personally, I'd keep just 780 - SLI, since the two configs end up being very similar to the performance. Either they're going run hot (in the game of max.).

• Dv5-1015nr: need graphics driver for nVidia GeForce for DV5-1015nr (Win7)

  I upgraded my laptop DV5-1015nr (x 64) from Vista to Windows 7 but am unable to find a driver for Windows 7 64 bit video. The relevant HP support page does not offer one for Win 7 (wow!), or not nVidia (hard to believe). I tried a few packs of series of other sites but none the GeForce 9 M were compatible. It's very disappointing. Does anyone know if or where I could find a driver for the nVidia 9200M GS graphics card / 9600M GT for my laptop DV5-1015nr?

• Video card: carrots vs RAM

  I'm looking into upgrading video cards on my system, with the main purpose being to accelerate OpenGL applications, mainly After Effects.  I've narrowed the field to two choices, from price and performance:

  2 x Geforce GTX 260 w / 1792 MB of RAM

  2 x Geforce GTX 275 w / 896 MB of RAM

  I will be alternating between SLI and non - SLI according to the application and control how much I want to use.  What I seeks to determine (and had no chance), I would see the best performance with the most rapid and most number of processing cores in the 275, or RAM doubled to 260.  They are $ 5 per card of each other, so the price isn't a problem at this point.

  Sorry, you are looking in the wrong place. EI OpenGL is limited at best, and it uses not SLI. On the contrary, with SLI being active, OpenGL will be disabled. So in all respects, what you buy is totally useless at this point. A single such card would be enough to feed almost all Adobe, including AE applications. Better, we recommend purchasing a single GPU card with lots of RAM, which can feed two screens with the advantage of being compatible with AE.

  I have a Lenovo Y510P I've had since January 2014. Core i5, 6 GB RAM, 2 x 2 GB GeForce 750 M cards (SLI, currently disabled), running Windows 10.

  Suddenly, from like two days ago, I was not able to play Flash videos on any browser on any Web site. YouTube does not work, other video sites do not work. Nothing plays. Before two days ago, this particular situation had never occurred. In addition, when I go to a page that did not contain Flash video but which has another Flash content, it won't work either. Flash just doesn't work.

  I usually use Firefox and when I try to go to a page with Flash content, I get the warning plugin is not responding. Meanwhile, Firefox completely freezes and is unusable. However, as soon as I stop the plugin with the button on the window of Firefox, or as soon as I finish the process in the Task Manager, Firefox Flash instantly starts working again, only the Flash content on the page is not displayed. I just get the greyed box error thing.

  I must say that Monday, I got my computer back from Lenovo. Contacts of charging port on the side of my laptop has become shaved and accordingly did not have contact with my power cable adapter.   I have uninstalled Flash, restarted my computer, went into control panel NVIDIA and SLI compatible. I guess it was a problem of video card settings. I have no idea why allowing the SLI would make a difference. Whenever I have install the NVIDIA driver updates, my SLI settings are reset in non - SLI mode (single card), making me have to manually put in SLI mode for each update of the driver. However, this is never a problem with Flash in the past. Single card mode has always worked with Flash for me in the past and he has never been a problem until now.

Liquid cooling is a waste of money (unless the overclocking to the extreme) and a beast to install.

Your food is only mediocre.

Your choice startup disk is too small and one expensive SSD. Better get a 320 HDD Samsung F4 classic.

You need an extra couple of HDD to use the 980 to its potential.

You may need to consider a dedicated raid controller.

You may need a case to put all that things, unless you prefer the free items on your desktop.

  Remove the graphics from the device manager driver, reboot the laptop and install the graphics of the page of the European driver Toshiba driver.

  Your on the team of Nvidia or AMD according to what you like.

  Personally, I'm on the AMD team. These are my reasons.

  1. better bang for your buck (value for money)

  2. largest (in general) ability of Nvidia GPU

  As Tesla mentioned in a previous post, simple maps are better than double, less problems and a lot, a lot less heat in the case (bi - GPU of in an Aurora that give about 10mm of the gap between the GPU - ridiculous!)

  If you go with bi - GPU then don't forget if you don't you OEM GPU, you will need to buy the standard of 'reference' of the GPU, not GPU which is sold to the computer vendors.

  Use of the GPU to reference a fan that sucks hot air from inside the case and expelled through a vent at the rear of the GPU instead of recycling/expel hot air inside the housing of the computer as the standard GPU do, they are a little more difficult to obtain than standards, but if you go double, I don't recommend using anything else you have overheating problems.

  In my opinion, if you want something on the cheap side giving you a leap upward in performance and speed then I would recommend a single 4GB AMD 6990.

  If Tesla autour it may be able to give you advice a little better than me, he is the man to talk with Alienware desktop computer (sorry of Tesla, I hope that this post don't bombard you with messages :)!)

  I intend to replace my old GPU with a gtx980ti simple geforce, nvidia people told me that the old map of mother alienware will not support the 980ti so I think I have the XDJ5C mobo to replace the old.  Who will support my Intel i7 processor?  The rest of my system is good for her as far as I know.

  I have a setup of 3 monitors x U2713HM on a desktop computer with two nvidia GTX470 graphics cards SLI. The monitors are connected with the dual link DVI cables provided with the monitors and the drivers have been successfully installed too, I can see the name of the monitors in the windows display properties. However the DDM displays a warning message "please connect a dell monitor supported" and when I click on it it has a longer General wanrning message asking me to check the compatibility of the driver screen and power cycling the monitor... I tried all the facilities of the DDM and update one included in the CD version 12XX something up to the most up to date which is 1360 ago only a few days but no luck. Installation of windows is windows 7 64-bit sp1. It is also an open in the center of dell support ticket and I am very satisfied with their response so far, but we still have not solved the problem. I just thought posting here in case someone has similar problems with the gtx470 or sli configuration.

  DDM requires that the display driver support DDC/CI, who sometimes gets broken in complex configurations of SLI. Make sure that DDC/CI is activated in the MENU of each monitors, and that you are not running no matter what 3rd party or commercial temperature that may interfere with the DDC/CI of monitoring voltage. Then try a different NVidia display driver.

  If none of this helps temporarily simplify your configuration to see how DDC/CI gets broken in the NVidia driver. Start with a monitor and a graphics card and run DDM 2 monitors and then one map graphic, then 2 monitors on two non - SLI graphics cards, then 3 monitors on 2 graphics cards, then SLI, 2 (back to the normal configuration of your favorite) graphics cards.

• CS5.5, 10-bit, AVCIntra, AJA Kona and GTX580 vs Quadro

  I'm buying a new computer in June. I am passage of Final Cut Pro on Mac. Why am I spending? For many reasons, but suffice it to say, CS5.5 is really looking like a time saver and seems to make good sense of business together. And being independent, I do not really on in line with any dogmatic camp (FCP or Avid, etc.).

  I work a lot with AVCIntra (10-bit) images and content (also 10-bit) generated by 3D provided by customer. I have an AJA Kona convince (supporting 10 bit) installed.

  I read a lot about the vs Quadro GeForce and understand that there is not much advantage to one Quadro, other then the advantage extra for 3D applications. And Geforces are 8-bit and 10-bit Quadro. So price wise, the 580 Geforce for CS5.5 is probably my best bet.

  My main questions are: PProCS5.5 is fully support 10-bit, end-to-end? And if the GeForce is only 8 bits (although I saw somewhere the 580 can support 10-bit), it will have an impact in time real MPE reading will appear on the AJA Kona card? With the installed AJA Kona Iraq, is important to all that I have a 8-bit or 10-bit GPU card?

  On a side note, there are a GTC590 now, with Dual GPU. Someone at - it tested yet with the hack? Or will it be the same problem as with SLI GeForces not supported by the body?

  There is a second side, I know people ask a lot about the best material to use. I read a lot of posts about them. Most of them are pretty old posts. From May 2011, any recommendations on components? Such as motherboards, raid, manufacturer of GTX580 cards etc. ? But I'm particularly interested to know if the i7 X 6-core 990 is worth the investment, compared to the 2nd gen 4-core i7 2600 K? I assume Yes. But have never seen in real world tests.   I talked to Blackmagic and their IO cards and all are probably independent of the OGL 10 bits of Adobe pull request. This means that you would be fine using I/O without a Quadro to 10bits overview of the output.
