  As you mention that you created the recovery media and it fails to restore your system with Win7 preload delivered, I would recommend that you contact the Service, let them know that your created set failed to work and ask that they provide you with a set of factory recovery DVDs. The details are below.

  If the reason why you don't like Win8x is the lack of a desktop and start menu, consider downloading and installing ClassicShell.  This will give the look-and-feel of Win7 back - and it's FREE!

  As for the feature, Yes, you will have the same functionality in Win7 you have in Win8x - just a different user interface.

  There is no 'path of decommissioning' to Win7. Instead, you'd have to do is to boot from Win7 installation media and install it on top of Win8.  This means that you will lose all existing applications, the parameters and the data of the user in the process.

  NO, we do not keep or use the same license.  Your PC came with HP OEM Win8 preinstalled, and that's what the license is for.  To install Win7, you will need to buy it and then activate it by using the product key that you receive with the purchase.  You can't buy this at HP, because he's not selling copies of Win7.

  But what you CAN do is to check with the HP customer service and see if they will sell you HP to Win7 for your PC recovery media.  It would cost much less go out and buy a copy of Win7 retail.

  If computers were purchased with Microsoft's Downgrade rights, they would be shipped with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit installed in the factory and restore HP 8/8.1 Pro 64-bit Windows included media. You will need create the restoration of Windows 7 Pro 64 - bit from at least one of these computers support.

  If computers ship with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit installed or if you have media to restore Windows 7 Pro 64-bit computers, you may be able to use the below to install Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.

  (1) download and unzip ABR Beta with Windows 7 Support. This is the homepage of ABR for Windows Vista. Please follow the section "How to use" for information and instructions on how to use it. These steps also apply to Windows 7. Perform the 'activation' on multiple computers backup and back up the certificate and the key has been recovered in separate places for comparison.   But if I do not the last reset on arrival of the downgrade the machine works perfectly, but when I do reboot then when windows starts it works. I try 5 times and still the same. I come back to windows original vista (I did CD to do) and it happens the same problem.

  When can we expect a new product range with Windows 7 preinstalled to be released?

  It is very good and interesting question but only the Toshiba marketing department can offer an exact answer to this.
  Somewhere I read that Microsoft will release Windows7 to October 22 and I imagine that the first models of Toshiba with Windows7 will be offered in November.
  No doubt Toshiba will offer 500 all A500, P500, L500, U500 series and all the other new business line portable Portege and Tecra.

  In the month or two we will know more about it.

• New NB200 with Windows 7 preinstalled Fn shortcuts keyboard does not work

  I just purchase the NB200 later with Windows 7 preinstalled (new version with 250 GB hard drive).
  However the Fn keys do not work.

  The machine is straight out of the box, no change.

  I have to do something to activate the access keys.

  I've heard Hotkey problems with windows 7 and the need to install that package added value of Toshiba.
  However I don't is not expected to have to do this on a brand new machine pre-installed.

  Any help very much appreciated.

  You are right. New portable computers are delivered with the settings and everything should work fine.
  I don't have Win7 on my laptop but I presume that it is similar to Vista, then go to start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities and check if there are shortcuts to restart Flash cards.
  Maybe you'll be able to turn it on again.

• Satellite L50t - Downgrade from Windows 8.1 for Windows 7

  8.1 Windows was preinstalled on my L50t satellite. Will there be problems if I do a new install of Windows 7 Home Premium?

  Driver Toshiba UE page provides Win 7 64 bit drivers for different satellite series L50T-A so should not be a big operating system Win 7 64 bit on this laptop.

  Even if you get all the Win 7 64 bit drivers, tools and utilities, you should be able to run Windows 7, but of course with limited access to the features of the laptop.

• Downgrade to windows 7 Windows 8 pro Hp Envy dv6-1090ee

  I recently bought a new Hp dv6-1090ee envy which has windows 7 preinstalled. I used the offer to upgrade to windows 8 pro for $ 14.99, but I did not like the new interface of windows 8 and I would go down to my original windows 7 with the factory settings.

  I checked the multiple sources in the best way and more confused when I started has finished. I really hope I can get the best solution here or at least performed on the best site where I could follow the appropriate directions.

  Some useful information:

  I have upgraded to windows 8 pro and did not have a facility clean (I still have a windows.old folder).

  I don't have a recovery disc for my windows 7.

  I don't remember the version of windows 7, I had.

  I have an old windows 7 installation disc, but I don't know the product key provided for windows 7 with the laptop.

  I just wanted to say that I could solve my problem with a very simple method. I contacted HP support through my HP support assistant at home and the solution was much easier than I anticipated.

  Since I've only updated, I still had the windows.old folder. so, I followed the following procedure:

  1 restart my pc.

  2. press F11 before that windows 8 has begun.

  3. the Recovery Manager open.

  4. I chose to restore the computer to factory without backup (since I had already backed up all my data on a Portable hard drive previously).

  5. the Installer started and the computer was still brand new.

  Everything worked well. Thank you HP support.

  It is a solution to my personal problem and on my model, I don't know if it works on all new HP laptops. My best advice for anyone with a problem is to contact HP support through HP support assistant, it is a very useful tool.
