Downgrade to windows 7 Windows 8 pro Hp Envy dv6-1090ee

I recently bought a new Hp dv6-1090ee envy which has windows 7 preinstalled. I used the offer to upgrade to windows 8 pro for $ 14.99, but I did not like the new interface of windows 8 and I would go down to my original windows 7 with the factory settings.

I checked the multiple sources in the best way and more confused when I started has finished. I really hope I can get the best solution here or at least performed on the best site where I could follow the appropriate directions.

Some useful information:

I have upgraded to windows 8 pro and did not have a facility clean (I still have a windows.old folder).

I don't have a recovery disc for my windows 7.

I don't remember the version of windows 7, I had.

I have an old windows 7 installation disc, but I don't know the product key provided for windows 7 with the laptop.

I just wanted to say that I could solve my problem with a very simple method. I contacted HP support through my HP support assistant at home and the solution was much easier than I anticipated.

Since I've only updated, I still had the windows.old folder. so, I followed the following procedure:

1 restart my pc.

2. press F11 before that windows 8 has begun.

3. the Recovery Manager open.

4. I chose to restore the computer to factory without backup (since I had already backed up all my data on a Portable hard drive previously).

5. the Installer started and the computer was still brand new.

Everything worked well. Thank you HP support.

It is a solution to my personal problem and on my model, I don't know if it works on all new HP laptops. My best advice for anyone with a problem is to contact HP support through HP support assistant, it is a very useful tool.

    Greetings,

This post is more than a complaint about Microsoft INABILITY to support its biggest business customers, in the hope that someone at Microsoft will really help me, instead of giving me the evasive that was given to me for the last 3 days...

I bought 100 Dell Vostro MT270 i3 Machines. All came with pre-installed Windows 8 PRO...

We have problems with Internet Explorer 9 and above with our Cloud National environment in which Microsoft Axapta 2012 runs.

Over the 3 days I tried to get in on the good service in Microsoft ranks to eventually get the product key of Windows 7 PRO for these OEM installed machines. I even offered to provide supporting documents (invoices and delivery as proof of my purchase slips)

Every department I got through where was forwarded to, listened to my story and informed me that I needed to talk to another Department.

Finally, this afternoon I decided to call Microsoft States in the hope of some kind of miracle... Instead, I lost 40 minutes of international calls from South Africa to be told that I had to talk to the Department of volume licensing for OEM pre-installed Machines?

Finally, after that be go asked me for our partner number or software assurance.

Unfortunately for me, our group Enterprise Architect was not available to give me this info. Furthermore, I was not ready to waste any more time or money on call international USA.

I read on the Net that to downgrade from Windows 8 PRO to Windows 7 PRO I need my own media (check), and a Windows 7 product key to complete install (check).

The problem here is I can't use a product key Windows 7 PRO currently in use on a work machine, and I have certainly not 100 old Windows 7 PRO Machines...

All I need is that Microsoft provide me 100 license keys for this downgrade or a unique product key I can activate 100 times.

It's really not that complicated a situation, however everyone I talked to has made it seem like they must move heaven and Earth to assist me.

This isn't how you support your customers Microsoft!

If there is someone who can help me with my problem please reply...

  • Windows 7 Pro non-authentique after downgrade from Windows 10 Pro full.

So I've upgraded to Windows Pro 10 for a full version of Windows 7 Pro. I've stuck with 10 windows for a few days and decided to downgrade. After he was done, Windows came with a message saying that I could be a victim of "Windows 7 Pro not being authentic" or something like that. He says I have 'Build' 7601. The computer I bought came with a key, but it's a full version when I got although it came with a recovery disk. Is there a way to fix this?

    Hello

I have a desktop running windows 7 pro 64-bit, but need to switch to windows XP pro 32-bit as I has an electronic Development Council which is not easily compatible with this version.  I understand from licensing that as I Pro I would be entitled to downgrade, this applies to the downgrading to 32-bit as well.  If it's ok where can I download some ISO Windows XP pro 32 course and it's just a case of putting my windows 7 inside product key?

    Hello

Until you, ensure that you will have drivers for your hardware + devices on x 86 XP. If this isn't the case, I wouldn't do the downgrade you will have many problems.

Did you first try to run the program in compatibility?

I tried, but I have not simply can't work with Windows Vista. I have to downgrade to Windows XP.

I have a new laptop HP HDX X18t with a Core 2 Duo T9600 2.80 GHz processor (with the last correspondent chipset Intel?)
    4 GB ram ddr3
    Hewlett-Packard Bios F.20, 05/01/2008
    SM Bios version 2.4
Hardware Abstraction Layer version = "6.0.6002.18005".

It has the configuration of the hard drive dual option factory. I have removed the C: plant and it will save way later. I then moved
the 2nd hard drive to the place where the used to be C:. Set startup to boot from the dvd drive for a cool XP with sp2 install.
This laptop keeps me to install Windows XP, XP sp2, XP with sp3, XP even with Vista Theme.
I have the factory supplied Vista Home Premium 64-bit dvd disc, and Yes, this will install flawlessly from start to finish
without ANY problem at all. Hard drives are sata2. I tried to install XP with versions with special sata drivers
included in the installation cd. No go. Even made several versions of XP sp2 with "simplified" in sata drivers
the installation cd. Same thing. No go. (no go = blue screen of death)

Here is the error message (blue screen of death) which continues to appear on all attempts of my XP installs.

  • Windows 7 Pro the Envy Phoenix

We have 3 new machines feel like Phoenix with 8.1 responsible Pro, but there are many questions prompting on our corporate domain.  Would it not possible to downgrade to 7 Pro and use the drivers provided by a similar system?

HP ENVY Phoenix 810 - computer 130qe is a consumer computer and can be configured with Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro. While you can have right of demotion with Windows 8 Pro, HP is not required to provide the media and/or the product keys of Windows for the downgrade. A you have purchased a HP Business Class computer, ordered with Windows 7 Pro installed and a set of Windows 8/Rocovery restore discs included, or vice versa.

Your best options are at this point

    (1) install Windows 7 Professional by using a genuine copy of the installation of this version of Windows Media. Activate Windows 7 Professional by using a Volume License Key Management Service (KMS). The KMS service will be able to activate your system by checking the pre-installed product key. This will require VLK of the company to appear on computers.

    or

    (2) get the genuine Windows 7 Professional installation media and the corresponding product key. You may need to purchase a copy of the product full package of the downgrade to Windows from a retailer. Install Windows 7 Professional. Type the product key when you are prompted to do so. If the software is already enabled, you can not activate it online. In this case, the Activation Support local phone number will be displayed. Dial the number and explain the circumstances. When it is determined that you have a qualifying Windows license, the customer service representative will provide a non-reusable activation code to activate the software. Note that Microsoft does not provide a full product key in this scenario.

    How downgrade from Windows 8;

    How to switch your PC

Your OEM will have the best information on how to downgrade your specific PC and in some cases, may decide to send you the installation media or a PC that has the downgrade operating system already installed.
Note Microsoft or OEM is obliged to ensure the media for the downgrade.
To perform the downgrade on your PC yourself, follow these steps:

    1. Change the settings so that the computer starts in legacy BIOS mode.

Note If you want to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro later and want all the features of Windows 8 Pro, you must change the setting of native UEFI BIOS before installing Windows 8 Pro. This is also true if you upgrade to Windows 8 Pro on a PC that was sold to you with the preinstalled downgrade.
  • Some manufacturers prior to inject the product key for Windows 7 Professional or Windows Vista Business in the BIOS for just such an occasion. If your OEM did this on your PC, you can take only one of the following actions:
    • Install Windows 7 Professional or Windows Vista Business using the recovery media for this version of Windows that has been provided by the OEM even. Your system is automatically by using the product key that has been injected into the BIOS.
    • Install Windows 7 Professional or Windows Vista Business with an authentic copy of the installation of this version of Windows Media. Your system is automatically by using the product key that has been injected into the BIOS.
    • Activate your copy of Windows 7 Professional or Windows Vista Professional using a Volume License Key Management Service (KMS). The KMS service will be able to activate your system by checking the pre-installed product key.
  • If your OEM has not injected of your product key in the BIOS of your PC, follow these steps:
    1. Get authentic professional installation of Windows 7 or Windows Vista professional support and the corresponding product key. You may need to purchase a copy of the product full package of the downgrade to Windows from a retailer.
    2. Insert the media to downgrade from Windows version in the PC and follow the installation instructions.

  • 8.1 Windows Pro update the problem (from Windows 8 Pro) on Envy 23 TouchSmart all-in-One...

    Hello

I have a HP Envy 23 Touchsmart all-in-one that I bought a year ago (12/2012). It comes preinstalled with Windows 8.

    System information:

    (a) Intel (r) Core i7 - 3770 S CPU @ 3.10 GHz

    (b) 8192 MB of RAM

A few weeks after that I had bought the system, I've upgraded to Windows 8 Pro with Media Center that I bought through Microsoft upgrade program.

Last week (19/10/2013), I saw the option upgrade to Windows 8. 1 in the store and decided to upgrade.

After a few minutes, I got a prompt asking me to restart the computer, and I did.

However, I noticed that the screen has turned white, but it restarts not really - I have seen that the hard drive light was still flashing and I waited for about 15 minutes. I know it does not restart because if that were the case I would have seen the HP logo on the screen of the BIOS. A little later, the system entered into mode 'sleep' (at least the light blinked slowly as if it was the sleep). As it was late at night, I decided to leave the system alone and decided to check on it the next morning. The next morning, he was still in mode 'sleep' (as I feared) - when I tried to wake up from her sleep by moving the mouse/hit the return key, he did the exact sounds as if he were to wake up from its sleep (as it always does), but the screen is still blank. The light power button lit up constantly indicating he's awake now.

At this point, I decided to turn off the system by holding the button for a few seconds. To restart, I saw the HP logo on the BIOS boot screen and the screen went white and nothing came.

So I decided do a system recovery using my Windows 8 recovery CD and turn off the system with the CD in its niche. This time, the system came and began immediately to restore my OS to a previous version.

After connecting to the system recovered, I received the following message:

"Could not update for Windows 8.1.

Sorry, we could not complete the update Windows 8.1. We have restored the previous version of Windows on this computer.

    0xC1900101 - 0 x 40019.

I tried to reinstall Windows 8.1 a couple of times after that. Once to disable all non-Microsoft services and disabling all startup programs. Always the same result.

I have no antivirus software on my other system protection of Microsoft default system software.

    Any help, greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

I have disabled active secure boot existing starter and the update worked.  Now we get the error of watermark "secure boot not configured correctly.  But I have re-enabled secure boot and the error disappeared.

If you need a detailed instruction on the installation of XP on your machine with a sata controller, then go on the toshiba driver download site and download the Setup instructions for Satellite L40.

  • Downgrade to Windows XP Pro

I was given my current my former employer's computer when it goes bankrupt and it has Windows Vista Business. I can't put updated (Microsoft support team to try to understand why) and therefore cannot install some programs I want.

I prefer XP Pro on Vista anyway and would like to put XP Pro on this machine. I have several copies of a XP Pro, but when I put the discs in the installation, the button is dimmed and it won't let me install it.

I'm ready to re - format if necessary, after saving all my important files, but I would like to avoid that if possible.

Question 1: Can I install XP Pro on this machine without having to reformat?

Question 2: If question 1 is not possible, can I repartition my hard disk, keep everything I have now on one partition and then install XP Pro on the other partition?
