8.1 Windows Pro update the problem (from Windows 8 Pro) on Envy 23 TouchSmart all-in-One...

I have a HP Envy 23 Touchsmart all-in-one that I bought a year ago (12/2012). It comes preinstalled with Windows 8.

System information:

(a) Intel (r) Core i7 - 3770 S CPU @ 3.10 GHz

(b) 8192 MB of RAM

A few weeks after that I had bought the system, I've upgraded to Windows 8 Pro with Media Center that I bought through Microsoft upgrade program.

Last week (19/10/2013), I saw the option upgrade to Windows 8. 1 in the store and decided to upgrade.

After a few minutes, I got a prompt asking me to restart the computer, and I did.

However, I noticed that the screen has turned white, but it restarts not really - I have seen that the hard drive light was still flashing and I waited for about 15 minutes. I know it does not restart because if that were the case I would have seen the HP logo on the screen of the BIOS. A little later, the system entered into mode 'sleep' (at least the light blinked slowly as if it was the sleep). As it was late at night, I decided to leave the system alone and decided to check on it the next morning. The next morning, he was still in mode 'sleep' (as I feared) - when I tried to wake up from her sleep by moving the mouse/hit the return key, he did the exact sounds as if he were to wake up from its sleep (as it always does), but the screen is still blank. The light power button lit up constantly indicating he's awake now.

At this point, I decided to turn off the system by holding the button for a few seconds. To restart, I saw the HP logo on the BIOS boot screen and the screen went white and nothing came.

So I decided do a system recovery using my Windows 8 recovery CD and turn off the system with the CD in its niche. This time, the system came and began immediately to restore my OS to a previous version.

After connecting to the system recovered, I received the following message:

"Could not update for Windows 8.1.

Sorry, we could not complete the update Windows 8.1. We have restored the previous version of Windows on this computer.

0xC1900101 - 0 x 40019.

I tried to reinstall Windows 8.1 a couple of times after that. Once to disable all non-Microsoft services and disabling all startup programs. Always the same result.

I have no antivirus software on my other system protection of Microsoft default system software.

Any help, greatly appreciated.

I have disabled active secure boot existing starter and the update worked.  Now we get the error of watermark "secure boot not configured correctly.  But I have re-enabled secure boot and the error disappeared.

    DO NOT UPDATE BIOS/FIRMWARE JUST BECAUSE THE LATEST VERSION IS COMER & THIS WILL BE COOL TO HAVE

    ONLY UPDATE BIOS/FIRMWARE FROM THE SITE OF YOUR PRODUCT (NOT HPSA), TOO IF YOUR SYSTEM IS IN GREAT NEED OF HIM.

    I have no idea why updates, you referred has been deleted. HPSA is too bug eventhough it of a great tool for your computer, so be careful, you do everything related to him or her.

    Update my other updates to my product site as soon as it is available. I don't want to make a mess of everything in the end.

    Create a recovery disk set before even considering the upgrade.

    If you are not yet accustomed to Windows 8, then give yourself a little time to get familiar with before committing to an upgrade to Windows 8.1.

    I prefer the upgrade of Windows 8.1, in particular the return of the Start button, it is not the same as the Start button was before Windows 8.

    Important factors for Windows 8.1 are available on the web support download portal for your PC.

    I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. Sometimes, when you get this error message, maybe it's the ink or printhead may need to be cleaned.

    Here a link to a page with an example of a good 4 X 6 photo paper, you can use with your printer.

    This type of paper is known to work very well.

    No, not so easy.  AirPrint is a print 'unmanned' environment and must have hardware and firmware support in the printer in order to print.  Other applications are more than a traditional print driver-centric apps and can find and print to the printer on a network without him having to support AirPrint.

    If you try to connect your printer to the router, you should make sure that wireless Direct is trurned to offshore. Direct wireless is a feature that allows you to connect a device directly to your printer without router (the printer generates its own wifi)

    Please turn off direct wireless (it's often a button on the front panel) and try to connect again.

    Items scanned by scanner are stored as Images (usually from the MPEG files) so I would look in the pictures folder. Otherwise if you remember what you call the files when you saved them you could also search for them via Windows Explorer.

    File photo:

    1. open Windows Explorer

    2. look in the folder list on the left side of the Windows Explorer window

    3. Locate the folder of photos

    Search:

    1. open Windows Explorer

    2. place your mouse cursor inside the Windows Explorer search box (upper right side of the Windows Explorer window), and then type the name of the file that you want to search

    3. Windows will now search for the file.

    4. once found, click on the file to open it.

    After a major effort (and another $ 110 for the Windows 7 product key) I finally managed to downgrade from Windows 8 to 7 on my PC (HP Envy 23 - c059 all-in-one). I thought that I had finally made until I realized that nothing worked. Not only I need drivers for all components, but I now have no way to install on my machine. As well the free wireless and Ethernet seem to be inadmissible, so I tried to use a USB flash drive, but it seems to be out of use as well.

    I know that it is not suggested to do the downgrade in the first place, but I bought this machine for my kids to do their homework on, and since buying it almost 8 months ago, children just do not use it in frustration. I decided to take drastic measures, as I felt the $1 100 I have devoted to this subject has been wasted completely with it being unused.

    Please tell me that I have not created a weight heavy and very expensive.

    I thank in advance for any tips or advice, you can provide.

    Your best option might be to order recovery media to get the machine to factory. You can order it in your list of drivers down HERE

    If you are to meet the challenge of installing the drivers Win 7, I'd start with Chipset AMD here. He should get usb ports work. Maybe you can download and burn to a cd to make it on the AIO.
